  1. Has there been any news on whether Rattan has found any footy employment for 2023? Do we have any assistant midfield coaching vacancies (or restructuring)?
  2. I know that many in AFLHQ want to mimic American Gridiron, which I find unwatchable due to the lack of flow with stopping far more than starting, so this could be just one step towards having a full “oh-fensive” and another “dee-fensive” roster that they change after every play. (Just joking but just a warning). Why extend the bench at all? Cut it to what it once was, 2 non rotatable reserves and get on with the game (ok, maybe rotation s for blood rule).
  3. Maybe the change of scene, and the kick in the butt of being dropped will enable / push him to reach his true potential. Don’t know that he needs to be written off completely at this stage.
  4. Better an optimist who is sometimes wrong than a pessimist who is always right.
  5. …. and the icing on the cake in the first minute Q4 a beautifully thought out and weighted pass to BBB when he could easily be excused for having a ping.
  6. “He knows how to jump for centre bounces, jumping to intercept shots, dunk the ball etc.” So if he chose Footscray or Geelong he could continue dunking without having to learn the art of handball.
  7. Sure he was … but regardless he was under performing
  8. Well certainly more exciting than the 2022 GF anyway.
  9. Too late - every other club's recruiters surely read this site several times an hour for inspiration! 😊
  10. BBB's strength is his lead up marking. which is rarely ever utilised in our "game plan". He has never been a strong contested marking forward but this was how he was utilised in 2022. So either the game plan needs to change or he will not fit in, especially if JVR develops quickly, and if TMc returns to fitness.
  11. rpfc - surely it is better to be an optimist who is sometimes wrong, than a pessimist who is always right. Enjoy life!
  12. Thanks for your contributions Oskar - you were part of a premiership list but couldn’t quite break through into a highly rated team. No disgrace and good luck with the rest of your career and life.
  13. Both Weid and Josh may benefit from a change of scenery - FFS Josh (and Hunter) have been under the idiosyncratic Beveridge and just may not have been motivated to do it for him - hopefully they will all (all three) benefit and thrive (other than when we play the Druggies).
  14. Mine is a reflection of my very, one could even say extreme, one eyed view of footy - but I do remain quite surprised that neither I when I set it up, nor any of the several other pedants on this site, have picked up on my misspelling.
  15. I was specifically specific, though there may in fact be very little difference in the comprehensibility from what comes the alternative orifice in Ross' case.
  16. Harley Bennell #2?
  17. Can anyone, particularly AFL players many of whom, though exceptionally talented in the game, may not be in possession of the highest intellects, understand anything that emanates from the oral orifice of the said Mr Lyon?
  18. Can a Wizard of Oz miracle take place on Schack who looks like the tin man (or the lion even). If he acquired both traits he could be a massive gain. Mark Williams / Alan Richardson please weave your magic.
  19. A John Landy (or was it Herb Elliot) moment.
  20. What you write about the use of rite is quite right.
  21. I doubt if any on the Saints Board have any faith at all. Correct me if I am wrong, but doesn’t Lethlean “have a bit of history” at another club or at AFL HQ?
  22. Has Lyon actually coached since the introduction of 6-6-6? May find it a lot harder do make it all quite so dull.
  23. Maybe the best thing would be to merge all 3 in Tasmania thus reducing the competition to a far more manageable 16 teams and a chance of a more equitable schedule , which means of course that this will never happen. And hasn’t Richo done a great job - Ratts in the midfield, again, would be a positive allowing Yze (unless he is insane or masochistic enough to take the Saints job) to go to the forward line.
  24. Casey had their share of injuries as did MFC - IMVHO a big problem was that we didn’t give the Casey performers a run when the MFC guys were NQR. Not so sure. Petty certainly is a top grade tall defender, but remember Tommo was a lock in before his ACL. Usually takes a season or more to make a full recovery. And of course there is Disco. Neitz only became a forward, a Coleman winner, from necessity when Ox went down again. Alternatively Tommo should at least be given a look at being a tall forward.
  25. Ten you need grammatical lessons - not stop start, but just the briefest of pauses allowing one to catch one’s breath. Is that the ATM machine of vulgar common parlance, or, more correctly, the AT machine? Surely the ante penultimate word could be better expressed as discerning
