  1. Thanks again guys for your insightful analysis of our beloved club's performances. I think it was binman who last week predicted a loss on the back of 'loading' - do you still feel that this was the basis of our loss, and in particular our very poor final quarter. Or is their something more fundamental, like lack of direction in our mid / forward connection and forward leading patterns (having an ex-ruckman as forward coach, or our current inexperienced sole big forward, who is despite all is progressing beautifully in his development?) It is becoming incredibly frustrating to watch the wastage of our forward thrusts, both failing to get the ball, and when we do, poor conversion. Why so different to 2021? (No BBB or TMcD of course must be a factor). Can Petty, JVR and Smith all fit in the same forward line? One less small, and maybe the ruckman dropping behind the ball rather than pretending to be marking forwards, with both Smith and Fritsch being hybrid tallish. marking, quick and pressuring. The classic smalls (Kozzie, Chandler and maybe ANB) are not scoring or contributing enough, though Kozzie did get 2 goals Thursday.
  2. Do our forwards not lead towards space because they know that leads will not be honoured, or that the kicker lacks the skills and poise to deliver to a lead? Alternatively are they just lazy, or poorly coached / drilled? At present they all seem to congregate together and fly for the big bomb. If even one, not necessarily the biggest, broke for a lead surely a defender would have to follow him or block him, lessening the congestion even if the long bomb was eventually used. Or maybe all opponents have worked out our 'plan' and join the pack under the. bomb.
  3. Tend to agree with most of this. We really do need to blood a few more than the very good debut seasons of McVee and JVR. Laurie had just a sniff and I must say didn't inspire. But Woey and Howes surely need a few games as HBF, W or HFF in rotation. And of course Disco is likely to seek greener pastures if he doesn't get another go, and not the total setup mismatch on Levi Casbolt. He undoubtedly lost more with his sepsis than his original hamstring. He would have been able to maintain general strength and non running conditioning, but sepsis really knocks the stuffing out and takes far longer to get back from. If he required iv antibiotics for several days this was not trivial in any way. Very hard to tell at that very late stage - he probably didn't quite now by then either. Too little too late. Saturday forecast is 4 - 13 deg and 4 mm rain. Very unseasonal for rain or for such a low maximum. What an absolute bastard if he said that. Needs to be targeted by the team and us fans when we next see him. It was never going to be a hot day in midwinter Central Australia. Nights get freezing though. Definitely a lot of extremely dumb bombing into F50. More blame needs to be targeted on our mids and on ballers than on our forwards. I only saw a little of the Saints v Bears tonight but similar things could be said of the Saints' forward thrusts - a lot of intercept marks by the Bears' defenders. binman - is this more evidence of high loading levels? I think it was you who said that this could come into the equation late in the game.
  4. Making the need for a Thursday night game at Kardinia Park even more flabergasting. Or last Thursday for that matter.
  5. Because the Saints want one more? 🙄
  6. Wrong colors.
  7. Viney playing a blinder. And greasy nose picker in May’s back - no free.
  8. So Rowan and Hawkins blatant HTB - play on. Petty no prior - HTB. FMD. Corrupt organization.
  9. Nothing much since his suspension. Is that whytheCats get paid marks for 5 meter kicks? Should but won’t.
  10. Another shot at goal from a 9 meter kick.
  11. Looked a pretty innocuous contact. What happened? And the mark by Touhey went about 8 meters. Justice that he missed.
  12. Will Rowan get three weeks for careless high contact on Cameron?
  13. Geez. Kozzie doesn’t look on song.
  14. I thought that a fluke was some sort of worm, but instead it is a Geelong goal.
  15. Looks like HTB is the rule of the week.
  16. Fox also. Maybe something to do with broadcasting from a hick country town.
  17. Fence. Certainly conflicted - in which case he should really have resigned. I realise he probably didn’t want to be involved, but by staying he was. Anyway, that is water under the bridge.
  18. Though “bomber” can imply someone / something that bombs out. Like finals. Nothing? Was he blind, deaf or mute? A doctor’s first duty is to his patient, not his paymaster. Complete with emitting sun light?
  19. Just hope that Hawkins doesn’t get May, again. Could Bowser replace the perpetually unlucky JJ as sub? Salo says hi.
  20. I remember Tassie Johnson drop kicking from full back to the centre circle on occasions.
  21. Yes - but his two games v Cats at the end of 2021 gives him a little bit of leeway 🤗🤗 R23 2021 final kick - glad he ran straight.
  22. #37 as I recall. Our last premiership full back before Steven May - a great negator as I recall, though John Peck always seemed to have his measure. RIP.
  23. Maybe they could move to Hobart and adopt the 🍎 logo? Though 💉 💊 may be a better option.
  24. Just wait for the AFL, whose prime aim in life is to screw the MFC, to again change the rules. "He plays in SE Queensland so he is the property of GC$" (My MFCSS has recurred).
  25. "..BBB hasn't been the same since the haircut, can we get him a wig?" And Ed Langdon please. That is the main point - two consecutive years. HQ probably say that if we want the KB it has to be that way - yet faves Collingwood don't suffer the same fate (two consecutive years).
