  1. 24-12 our way. All straight kicking so far.
  2. Dare I say that Wines is doing well for Port tonight? Wines are doing well at my place too, cab sav especially. Must pace myself - got a ride in the morning.
  3. Apparently its about to be subject of a product recall as customers have complained of a taste 'a bit like anchovies'.
  4. Anyone getting there early, would love to hear any report of how Hunt goes please!
  5. Can't let the day go by without a post being registered in here! Had a huge weekend and it's taken me until today to recover. Couple of bike rides, went to watch Scorps on Saturday and to the G on Monday. Enuf said about both games already. Sun night at the Stag's Head hotel in Willy - Bender played a great set of favourites and the beers were going down a treat. Wish they had a bigger venue to play at, but at least you can get right up close to Garry and Jamie and sing along with them - Neil Young, Floyd, Bowie, Beatles, lots more
  6. Yep. I admit, Watts had a very serviceable to good game. Certainly earned his selection this week. I was almost shocked at the fact that he took players on with the ball and showed intensity and ... (gulp) ...heart. No real problems with Jack's game this week. I will happily live with the odd errors / dropped mark etc. if a player has a go for the rest of the game. Jack, you weren't a star of our side today (look to Cross, Brayshaw, Viney, Jones. Vince for examples of what that looks like), but please bring your same game next week, listen to how the crowd LOVED YOU for the tackle that obliterated the memory of 6 years ago and lets get on with life as a newly invigorated and, dare I say it, gutsy player. There. I've said it. C'mon Dees!
  7. Sorry oli, TMac was deliberately moved up forward in Q4. Happened just prior to the bounce after a goal, when he ran up the southern side of the square while the bounce was being set up (not sure when exactly). I actually thought it was a belated attempt to even out the numbers of players on our forward line and make Oxley accountable, but didn't follow his movements after that.
  8. How's that hey? Usually it's the other way around - well at least some of the backs often stand up, but the midfield is usually lacking. I live for the day when it will all click together in all parts of the ground. You can visit me in hospital afterwards because I reckon my heart won't be able to take the excitement.
  9. Garland is not having a good game at all. Poor decision making. Has had a kick smothered at least 4 times I reckon. Needs to find another way to go forward.
  10. Just finished a bike ride and will be heading to the G with Son of bjDee. Heartened by the great wins of Tiges on Friday and Scorps on Saturday. Here's hoping the Dees turn up today and give it a massive crack.
  11. It's a Yes here, also happy with DCs suggestion of The Biz.
  12. OK Earl. Fess up. How much food was in the "food"? Remember, this is a virtual men's shed. What happens in the shed, stays in the shed. You only need to eat for yourself, not the whole estate.
  13. Hey Earl, where is this place? I work in Brunswick, so the chances of crossing paths just increased somewhat.
  14. Bingo bango bongo R&BB. A perfect morning's 50k ride followed by coffee and fruit toast at Red Cup Café on Whitehorse Rd. (Only a toast because I knew I was going to pig out later on an egg and bacon roll at Casey). My daughter and I like to call one of the young staff members at RCC "Mr Happy". He always seems so surprised and delighted to see anyone coming up to be served.
  15. Enjoying a Gramps Shiraz after an early bike ride around Box hill, Collingwood, Ashburton today followed by good win for the Scorps this arvo. Seems like Gramps is a wine made / named for Old Dee!
  16. Maybe Jaded is starting up a business??
  17. Ed Morris is an out and out little gun for Scorps. He is quick, agile inside packs and not afraid to get in and under. I love his endeavour. His overall size might be too small for the big league, but he has a heart twice as big as his body.
  18. Agree re O Mac. He took a nice strong grab at one stage and looked comfortable at this level, although at other times he seemed a bit out of place in positioning on the ground when we had the ball and were spreading, or when we were setting up for an oncoming attack. He's a good size and given a little time (nowhere near as much as a ruckman) I think he could come on pretty well. I always love seeing Harmes go at it and he didn't disappoint today when it was his turn to go.
  19. Tyson was ace in my book. In the play a lot and so composed under pressure. I'd bring him back on Monday! I liked Michie too. He was in a lot of the play as a link man down the outer wing where the wind was taking the ball.
  20. Pies goal. 4 pts difference at 27:15 last qtr!
  21. Bail kicked 2 on the run today but missed a 50m set shot with the wind. It's not the grade of footy - it's the player and his skill set.
  22. And Bail kicks across the body on the run for a GOAL!
