Agree RobbieF I would think it would have been quite fun slagging us off in the knowledge there was no chance of getting even close most weeks. I remember going to the first Brisbane GF win against the bombers A mate and I were smack in the middle of the large group of Essendon members. one of the best days I have had at the footy. we sang the lions song all the last quarter. Bloody marvellous

This is the classic mistake we always seem to make at the MFC we pick some kids with potential after good junior careers and think they going to work wonders over night. For god's sake they are 18 year olds they will have some good games this year but like all kids in their first year they get weary. Please don't expect miracles from these guys in 2013. Three quarters of the miracle workers from the last 7 - 8 years are no longer at the club. So am I!

Not at all Bbo I am just stating the facts on the players we have put on the list this year. e.g Roden Started life at Richmond and was an average player in an average team, moved to Port where he had a few average years with the occasional good game, Port dropped him from their list last year obviously they thought he would not take them anywhere. We picked him when there were no other takers. Now I expect he will add some strength, some experience and play a few good games in 2013 but he will not turn our mid field into world betters Our list is improved but it has not been transformed into world beaters. I am just reminding everyone to keep a little perspective.

My patience is running out at a rapid rate jr. He has never started a season with a good pre season behind him. This year there has seemingly been no major injury worries but still injury is talked about. After three years at the club I have never seen more than a couple of average quarters per game from him. 2013 is put up or shut time for me

It is not what we all want Philthy it is what our ability has a chance of producing. Worry about developing a better team over the next three weeks so we can start 2013 with a reasonable chance in most games

I think it pays to keep in mind that we made 14 changes to the list for this season. WE put in 2 good players, 3 or 4 some would say are has beens, a few kids as good as they might be are going to take a couple of years and a bunch of guys on there second chance at AFL level who did not make it the first time around. Now we all hope some of these will be inspired selections but keep in mind our list has not suddenly changed from a bottom to finals team overnight. Don't expect too much tomorrow night.

Toast I agree with all you say except the last line. If that was the case they would have played better last year. 35000+ members , a large number went week in week out and they dished up tripe. You have ignored IMO one vital ingredient Skill The majority of the list last year did not have the required level to get us above third last. No amount belief would change that

Quite obviously it had little effect on them last year Sure did not spur them to a higher level of performance. Then again with a large number of them from last year it probably was their highest level

Look a bit harder Cards13. We changed a lot at the end of 2013 But there are still more to go this year. Our list is still a long way off a finals list.

I am too Bossdog but only where the MFC is concerned. But without the Reverend I think it would difficult to come on Demonland some days. Go Dees we are going to win both games tomorrow. I have no idea how But if the Rev is confident so am I
