With the exception of a few hundred who live close to linton street I don't expect many Dees supporters to turn up to a late afternoon match in 34 degrees. Seems like cruel and unusual punishment to ask players to play a winter game in the conditions expected for Friday. I think there will be more for the Casey games against the Tigers.

I would think there is a big stubbornness among the office staff, FD and Board members about going to Casey on a full time basis. It is just too far away and below them to be head quartered in Casey.

Especially as two of them are practise matches. In answer to para 3 lots of administrators are primarily concerned about winning first, last and in the middle. Don't assume they all have the players long term interests in their view finder.

From past experience I have never been canvassed about anything to do with areas outside of the game day experience. Clubs don't want your opinion that might commit them to ideas that they don't like. I don't give a damn where the training facility is, just get us up to the level of the other clubs. I would like to believe we will have solved this problem before I leave the planet however I doubt that will happen.

I have obviously missed something. I did not know that the AFL were conduction hair tests on players. Results will be out shortly according to the Hun.

SD do not hold your breath on the Home base it is a decade away at best. IMO we either keep wishing and hoping or accept that the only option is a fully blown home at Casey.

As I understand it in the NBA if you cannot attend the club takes back the seat and onsells to someone on your behalf. Seems sane to me.

The GD1 won their game today, as they say wins are gainers. She copped a heavy knock to the floor in the last 30 seconds. On the way home she said I know her and her number there will be a next time!

As I said Ernest my first game since the demise of the Tigers, we go to watch our GD every game and I go to lower league matches.

Last night I went to my second sporting love with my daughter and no.1 granddaughter. It was a finals match between SEMelb Phoenix and Perth. Yes basketball. The first NBL match I have been to in a very long time. My daughter and I were Tigers fans from way back. When the owners dumped the Tigers to become Melbourne United we quit. My grand daughter loves playing and is good in her age group. She was barracking for the phoenix, I was very quiet because in the Tigers days SEMelb. we’re the mortal enemy. We had a good night and she is more into basketball than ever before. It was a good night but the razzmatazz was over done IMO. Too much and a lot of wasted effort. The other thing that surprised me was that it was not full. 80% but a do or die final and they could not fill the stadium. Oh Perth won after being behind most of the night. There is some justice in the world after all.
