I think our list is not as good as you think. It has improved out of sight but it is still a long way off winning a flag. we still have a large number of players that will not take us into the top six. Not everyone of the current kids is going to be a very good player. A number will not make it and no amount of giving them games will change that. I don't believe we are as close as you think, just my opinion that is different to yours.

Quite often Saty no amount of development will turn a poor player into a good one. With the exception of a couple of short periods we have not had a good list. most of the time we have had a few good players and a lot of ordinary ones. Hence Two GF appearances in 50 years for two losses. The rest of the time we have been bouncing along in the wrong half of the competition.

This may sound overly simplistic Saty but all the above played in sides that did not have enough players like themselves. Like now we have 6-7 players who would get a game in the top teams plus a bunch of kids and then a bunch of ordinary players. The list has improved but it is still a way of being a top eight team.

There are few things in footy that I hate more than " an honourable Loss" there is no such thing. A loss is a loss is a loss.

I hope that is what it is used for Steve. Our backline has one quality big man at present.

And seeing how Gil wants Essendon back up asap there is IMO nine tenths of bugger all chance that will happen.

Some weeks I feel way more positive than others. I actually thought we could win last Sunday. But playing the WCE in Perth has disaster written all over it. Mentally we are stuffed before we get to the airport. I doubt there are more than 5000 die hard demons in the Footy world who think we are even a remote chance. I have a friend who is a Richmond supporter who is very accurate with his tipping. His verdict WCE by 5 goals. Positive for me will be Sunday 31st July.

Then IMO he will be at Carlton or Richmond as they will be prepared to pay up and will have better picks to offer GCS. Which to be honest wont worry me.

My father used to say that determination will only take you so far and in the end superior skill will come through. I think he was right way back then and it still holds true. Right now that is the problem for the MFC we don't have the overall skill to beat teams in the top half of the competition.

I take little notice of these interviews with players as by nature they have to sound positive. I have never seen one from any player at any club that said "you know we are not playing well at present and to be honest we have five players who are not up top this level. Sadly I will be surprised if we end our drought of wins in WA this year."

I would suggest in the nicest possible way that you visit a doctor that specialises in Mental problems, you have serious issues.

You are not alone PSD. I have actually now given up on beating the Saints at the dome of death. I think like the players I am mentally scared about that place. Our best chance of beating the saints is the next time we play them at the G. Not the same mental thing there. As for the WA Game a similar result is in store for similar reasons the difference will be the size of the loss. I expect 10+ goals.

If I wanted to be cruel dd I would say you have no stamina. However I would be saying that after the experience of seeing two flags in the 60's so I have an idea of the joy. You are right of course if I don't see a GF win in the next 15 years like you I will give up AFL in fact I will be dead and will have no say in it. Yes we are impatient but after half a century that tends to happen. Hang in there for me dd if it is longer than 15 you will know the feeling I had at that point 70 years ago.
