I have watched this year with interest some of our rejects from the last couple of years. Below is my view which I am not claiming is perfect because I was out of the country a couple of times and may have missed a item or two. Martin played a couple of games at Brisbane but basically no impact. Gysberts played a few good games for Werribee but no senior games for North Morton played a couple of games for WCE with nil impact, little impact for East Perth. Bennell little impact anywhere but that be harsh as he was out with a knee injury the first half of the year. Petterd Actually played well for Richmond good pick up by the Tigers. Cook Vanished without trace Bate disappeared into the Essendon VFL team without much mention Maric Vanished without trace Based on their form only Petterd seems to have been an error. The rest have performed as they did with the MFC. Says lots about selection. IMO they have shown us that development or the lack of it had much to do with these guys non results. Just bloody poor selections in the first place.

It is astounding that a series of "professional" recruiters could get it so badly wrong.

I am sure Redleg that if they had used that method we would have been better off.

What the MFC does to Casey in September is the eight wonder of the world to me Redleg. I still have no understanding of why you would elevate Magner to the senior list and then not play him

I think he was suggesting a possible trade bb But seriously who would be interested? We have seven I would like to trade but I doubt there would be more than one taker. Jamar might get a little interest but that is about it.

I seriously doubt it would be 12 Redleg, like you I think that is too many in one hit. To get rid of 12 you have to find 12 that are better 6 to 8 maybe achievable but I doubt 12.

I went though our list last night I came up with the following list of players that I would shed in the next few weeks. Now there are a couple on here that may be unlucky because they are out of contract. In no particular order Jetta, Nicholson, Gillies, Tynan, Davis, Sellar and the following retirees in Roden, J Mac and Davey. Nine in total. If there was a chance I would trade out any of Jamar, Tappscott, Bail, Blease, Byrnes Pedersen and Strauss. Unfortunately there is probably only Jamar that would attract interest and then not much in value for the MFC. What is everyone's opinion.

And it will be dead and this one will live on. As Jack Dyer would say it does not have the "Intestinal Fortitude" to continue.

I listened to the press conference. I was impressed and it takes a bit these days for the MFC to impress me. Between Mr. P Roos and Mr. P Jackson I think we have something that has not existed for a long time. We have IMO two people at the top who know what the hell they are doing. I now have something to look forward too at the MFC. I am however still fairly pessimistic about our team for 2014 and the next couple of years. A lot of work is required to make our list into a competitive unit. The upside is I believe we now have the crew to achieve it. I have hope this Spring and summer.

Well Redleg now I believe. Two years is way short of what I would have expected. It will be interesting to see what is said at the Press conference. Someone is sure to ask about the short length. Does that mean he thinks we are way better than I think? I hope so but I am not holding my breath. However over all a very good day for the MFC.
