    2011

What an effort! Agree with most of your emotions.
  2. And that is exactly what i do. If there is an alternative this year I will vote for it if it is creditable. When was the last time you voted?
  3. Those same strong clubs you mention [censored] like hell when things go pear shape. But the dees trudge alone in silent exceptance. We are a weaker club as a result. Express your displeasure
  4. Covered it well RR. You have my vote.
  5. I do attend every year, and don't worry I will be having something to say if there are not some serious changes in the next couple of months. The trouble with our GM is that the season is set in concrete before it happens it is bit like discussing the titanic a year after it went to the bottom. I have written 3 letters to the MFC this year and I have had 2 replys and one phone call. Have I changed anything? probably not but at least the administration knows all is not well out here in the outer. No comment is seen as acceptance. [censored] a bit guys can it possibly make us perform any worse.
  6. Will you express your displeasure at the disaster that was the 2011 season on and off the field? If so how? If you meekly keep buying your membership and say / do nothing the administratuion will take your membership as a sign of agreement with the way they have handled things. Look forward to your thoughts.
  7. It is great to be so loyal but has it achieved the holy grail? No. in fact you have suffered through some truely poor administrations. Make your feeling known a bit more.
  8. Not sure i agree with you. I have bought a membership for the majority of the last 40 years. However there are occasions when the only protest open to member is to withdraw their support. I often think that MFC members are too accepting. Following along no matter how the club performs is IMO one of the reasons we have been so long in the wilderness. In the current envoirnment I find it responsible to see how the club shapes up before supporting it. Show us the results and we will show you the money. It is time for the club to show the members they know how to take the club forward. The members have put their money up over the last three years.
  9. One thing I will never come to grips with is how a nil all draw is a "good" result.
  10. These things are always a cost versus benefit. I have bought memberships for years and not got full benefit. But i can afford it and I am a nutter how cannot give up even after decades of failure. Just remember it is only a game. Pay what you can afford and no more.
  11. Hawaii is the go mate.been there a few times and always enjoy it Good weather all year round. Only problem is the communications are too good, too easy to find out what is happening in Australia. Strange thing, I have noticed a loss in a foreign country heard the next day does not seem all that important. PS Start buying all the memberships again in 5 years, the savings will get you a good holiday somewhere. And tell Mrs Robbie hills are for AFL players, flat is great!
  12. Well striker475 you have a few years to save up I would think. Can you save the extra by 2017?
  13. Heard Michael Nettlefold from the saints on the SEN this morning. He said they would lose $1.3 million this year. Came in after the start but I thought he said $900 000 was due to playing at ES. He said every year it is like writing a cheque for that amount and posting it to Collo. This is in spite of having 40 000 members, being up near the top of the ladder the last three years and playing in the last 3 GF's. Also said they are way down on FD spending etc. compared to richer clubs. They believe they run a tight ship. Said they would be asking the AFL to play all their home games at G next year. Won't happen but they do not have a contract to play at ES since the "new Deal" a couple of years ago. That surprised me. So how are the likes of the Dees, Dogs, Port and North supposed to compete? Seems like surviving in the future will be hard let alone winning a flag. Perhaps finishing 13th and not making a loss might be a bigger achievment than I thought. Still feels sh--y!
  14. does not appear that I have much choice. I intend to live for some time yet rpfc but sometimes you do not get a choice as the years advance. just the new tack I am now taking. Live every year as though it is my last, do not look too far ahead you might miss all the great things that happen today. IMO we should use our draft picks this year on experienced players. Now I know that is easier said than done but that is the major problem as I see it. We have enough kids. the playing group will look like a kindergarten in 2012 unless we replace Green and Davey etc.
  15. Glad to see we agree. Now we have 6 months I guess to see what happens. Earlier this year I noticed it was the second decade of the 21st. century I thought it was time to stop think of what might be in 10 or 5 years time. because I may not have too many of those left. I would like to enjoy 2012 a lot more than this year. So I want the 2012 season to come around very slowly. That way i can enjoy "what might be in 2012" before reality sets in April. Now that is not too much to ask is it? Just help me understand how we get around the problem of poor senior players at the MFC!
  16. rpfc if I am reading your comment correctly it appears we are talking about degrees of "crapy". I for one am more disappointed this year than I was in 2009. This year we should have been a lot better than we turned out to be. As bad as 2009 was we did not have a 186 point belting. I also struggle to see where the improvement will come from next year. The senior players that supposed will support the team while the kids develop are simply not there. Next year looms as the same as 2011. Bunch of kids, most of whom have not yet shown they are AFL "good" standard. Led by a group of senior players who are either at the end of their careers or simply not good enough. It looks like more of the same to me. It seems to me we punted on a 100% youth drive on the basis of the older players are good enough to support the team for a few years. IMO that is the failure, they are not good enough! I hope the new coach is JC because he will need to be.
  17. I am fairly similar RobbieF. I do now take holidays during winter and there is a benefit it helps to have a break mid season. Not sure I could survive 24 weeks of the dees performances after all these years. 2010 I went on a cruise for 16 days. It was totally free of AFL and I discovered I came out the other end well and in good humour. yes I will front up again in 2012 but my expectations are low and by late July a coral atoll without communication will look attractive.
  18. Well it is finally out, most of you out there are cupboard contributors! Hiding away in darkened rooms living a secret life on the Demonland site. Shame on you all. Now is the time to "Come Out"! It is not that hard and you will feel liberate when you do. Just tell your loved ones for a start it is not that hard. This is the best I have felt in 2 months! 36 hours after the Port game it occured to me that I do not have to worry about: - the injury list - team selection - will the coach have a clue this weekend - will Davey final spark up - will the captain have a good game - do we have any chance of winning this weekend. Now I have 4 -5 months of Freedom from worry it is all hope and delusion of a great 2012 before reality sets in around April 2012. Have a good day guys!
  19. What more is there left to say! Right on the money
  20. Vanlo I am not having a go at you however you need to learn a bit more about these type of bets. They do not hold very much on these type of bets and limited the size of the wager. I heard one of the agencys talking about how it is so easy to pick up the likes of the Shaw and the collingwood bets. They shut down at the first sign of something strange and check who is betting. They Seldom hold more than a few hundred on this type of betting. From what he said I believe that Francis Leach could be correct.
  21. I will swap our year for theirs. I can handle a fair bit of "boring and winning" for "thrashed and depressed"
  22. Not sure why it is assumed you have to be under 30 to post on a web site. Well my present was a bit more expensive than I thought. Never thought I would see the day when Bananas would be top of my wish list!
  23. speaking of which what is the current price? believe it or not I had some for fathers day breakfast. Present to me by my daughter. We had a good laugh when I said Redleg would be impressed. They Looked at me as though I came from Mars. It took some explaining. Then Perhaps I do!
  24. Perhaps Bate was so happy to have played a good game that he missed we lost to the worst team in the AFL. But why the MFC would go with that article is beyond me. I would have been more impressed with the head line "Dees loss ends a disappointing year"
  25. Thanks KC. We will now see how serious the MFC is about their partnership with Casey!
