Fairly confident that DB was not up to the job but there is no doubt in my mind that he put the majority of his selections in the kids catergory. The results is as you say waiting cost him his job. unfortunately a few of his selections will not make it, but that is the case with 50% of all selections anyway. Cook is an interesting selection, I have serious doubts having seen him a few times last year. But he truely is a very skinny kid, my biggest fear is that we have another Morton. i.e. someone who will never be a big powerful body. whatever way it goes we have another 2 years to wait IMO before much will be known about Cook. You have to wonder how long DB thought the MFC would wait. How many seasons like 2011 did he think he could survive. Neeld knows he has 3 years to move the MFC into the finals and I suggest the top 4. Failure in IMO will be more the result of our selections over the DB period than Neeld's actual coaching ability. Interesting 3 years ahead.

If you give the job to Grimes who will be the captain for the other half of the season?

Sorry wyl but I cannot let this go. We played Hawthorn and Geelong after the Darwin game. I hope you are not suggesting the reason we got pumped in both those games was because we went to Darwin. We were just beaten by far better sides. It is just an excuse to say the reason we got beaten by 30 goals was because we went darwin. I just do not buy it.

You will pleased to know ( well I hope you will ) that I have added one more to my total wyl. The 13 was great last night we beat the Pies by 8 goals, the faithful were singing all the last quarter. Eddy resigned as Chairman after the game saying Buckly should follow him. Trengrove won the NS medal Green kicked 5 goals in his last game Watts kicked 5 as well. and the bull broke swans jaw in a fearsome collision just before quarter time. Hell then I woke up and it was only the 12th Jan 2012.

That is a great way to finish the night wyl. Off to bed to complete the dream.

Don't hold your breath Unfortunately I think we will have to do this sort of thing for a number of years yet.

I did not mean the humidity in Perth. Vic clubs complain about the travel to WA being upsetting. But it does not seem to worry the WA clubs much. We use it as an excuse for poor results in WA or the week after a game in Perth. When the truth is we have not been all that good of a team and probably would have lost the game if it was played anywhere. Our game in Darwin is on July 21 I have been up there a few times at that time for the Darwin Cup ( driest time of the year ) it is not bad. If we manage it well the problems are low and we get lots of green stuff.

I simply do not believe that, it is like the travel bleating. The two WA sides travel every other week. When they have good sides they win consistantly and when they have poor sides they lose. Manage the game etc well and we will have a limited problem No big deal PS wyl you must have a life as poor as mine. what the hell are we doing discussing a July 21 Darwin game on the 11 Jan? To take that a stage further I want the Dees to be hated for being a relentless mean and narsty team who win constantly Every week I want to hated by Collingwood, Essendon, Hawthorn and Carlton. Not pitied like the last 5 years.

I am bemused by this thread. For the last three years we have been a poor team. We have been coached by a group that bought very little success culminating in a 30 goal loss. We now have a very different coaching panel for the next few years. I am happy to give the new chief the benefit of the doubt in many areas for at least the next year. I find it hard to believe he could be worse than the last mob. Time will tell but lets forget the coaching panel until they have a min 10 games behind them.

Talk is cheap in January wyl. This time last year we thought we were world beaters heading for the finals. We all know what happened. I expect improvment but i bristle at "One of the scariest " Not a ball has been kicked in angry in 2012 Lets see what happens. Improvement I hope

Not sure how you come up with this theory "olisik" It has only effectively changed by one player. The rest have been around the last couple of years with the obvious results. I hope a couple of players develop as 2012 unfolds but How does that make it "one of the Scariest forward line"
