  1. Might be a refreshing change having a captain with some rascal in him. The saintly clean skins on the job for the past decade have all been useless and the culture they helped nurture has been crap. We canโ€™t do any worse.
  2. Kind of adds confirmation that the players have playing with blinkers on. Like how many times have we seen a player take a set or running opportunity for goal from long distance or take a measured chance from an angle this season? Natural instincts have been snuffed out and players are crapping themselves when taking a set shot at middling distances. Seems to be a team rule that shots on goal should only be taken from 30 metres out or from over the top moves. Perhaps rigid team rules have snuffed out instincts, creativity and by extension confidence.
  3. If MFC membership were a long term investment it would be like putting money in a new apartment with combustible cladding and budding concrete cancer, a house in coal mining town or a timeshare resort after knowing all the faults and facts.
  4. Well on Demonland we have mostly die hard, rusted on, desensitised and completely deluded supporters here. So it is to be expected that most Demondlanders who are members will go around for another round of flagellation. It is the 20-30 odd thousand ones who are not on Demonland who will be more likely to bail out.
  5. Thatโ€™s the wall paper excuse we have had to put with for a decade now. When things started getting really bad mid season the usual apologists revived it.
  6. Brown and Larkey 15 goals between them. I hope the airports are fogbound for the entire next week and we forfeit or our flight gets highjacked to North Korea.
  7. I am on automatic renew. I will continue as a member because I am currently plagued by the current inertia affecting the team and too listless to make the effort to resign.
  8. Posters should watch the last two minute of the Brisbane Geelong game. Lincoln McCarthy takes a screamer 20 metres out, Captain Zorko walks with back with him to take his shot and gives him calming advice to settle him for the pressure kick. Of course he kicks the match winning goal. Donโ€™t see Viney or Jones do that often.
  9. In his last couple of seasons with us he played like he didnโ€™t give a Faarque anyway. Would have fitted in nicely in our yesterdayโ€™s side. He was a lost cause.
  10. I am more disgusted with their desire to win unlike us.
  11. Great to see Stefan Martin give a great performance in the ruck. Though he had less than average opposition as Geelong rely on Dangerfield and Co to win the clearances the hard way he changed his game up in the last 15 minutes in the stop start finale. He mixed it up beautifully with great tap work, out muscling his opponents and powerful knock ons to give his players the advantage to charge back from 18 points down. GAWN TAKE NOTE! Also where once he was labeled as being a bit soft, he is now a tackling machine and 15 of his 16 possessions were contested. Fagan has turned him into an awesome weapon.
  12. Looking forward to watching a real game of football today. Brisbane and Geelong. Glad I eschewed last night joke fest.
  13. We need a Chris Fagan or Brett Rattan type. No brand name egotistical types.
  14. Oliver Le Peu sprays Fritsch the Fox
  15. What a contrast to all the positive reviews and praise of our list, talent and sparkling game earlier this year. Lot of egg on face on the football media and they will not be kind as we have been exposed as a fraud.
  16. Fritsch showed Oliver exactly how to play in that situation. Showed him up. Used his talent and skills creatively, not mindlessly.
  17. Aside from culture, character and coaching issues we donโ€™t do cold, wet, windy and general miserable weather. Thatโ€™s the likely game day scenario. I expect another response like Rooโ€™s last game as coach against Geelong. A 100 point thrashing is not out of the question.
  18. We would have to change our name from The Demons to The Evangelicals and the theme song to the tune of โ€˜Praise the lord and pass the ammunitionโ€™ and tithe him 10% of all club revenue plus match payments and expenses before he would consider us.
  19. Damning for the onfield leadership. Jones should have stepped and laid down the law. Instead he walks away as if he donโ€™t care. Nothing will change until he retires or forced out.
  20. He did play well despite his inaccuracy and it was a bad loss amongst many this season. To feel like that there must be something more bothering him.
  21. They have a higher threshold for taking the khyber kebab.
  22. Happy clappers MIA tonight like the club.
  23. Is Pert the new Schwabovian nightmare and Goodwin the ghost of Neeld?
  24. Missed the game. Just checked the final scores. This is my guess how we played. Had more inside 50โ€™s. Gave away easy gimmie goals. Gawn dominated but midfield pantsed. Missed easy set shots. Captains played like spuds. Consistently turned the ball over. mindless bombing into forward line. Am I wrong with my guesses?
  25. So many weekends ruined this season. I now look forward to next season when most of our games are back to late Sunday afternoon. Relief it will be all over next week. Tonight dinner at a cheap Chinese restaurant. Might check the scores in between the spring rolls and the stir fry.
