  1. It is reasonable to assume that clubs with the strongest sense of character, leadership, work ethic and professionalism will have an advantage over the rest when coming back. None of which are strong points for us.
  2. Are you suggesting one can take the pharmacist out of the ........... but not the pharmacy out of the ...........?
  3. May be a renaissance of old school power forwards coming through next season.
  4. A League, Newcastle Jets.
  5. Battle of defences ATM. No one can score.
  6. I reckon Boris will appreciate the break so that he can heroically recover. He will come out of this well.
  7. I believe in the long term there will be a return to some form of healthy competition. The virus will go but the world economy will likely be devastated. The worst horrors are yet to come. The government will provide bread and circuses like the Romans did to keep the plebs from becoming too restless.
  8. Doctors are trialing an old tuberculosis vaccine which may help minimise the virus. Anyone that’s been around a long time likely has had one of these. https://www.theage.com.au/national/tuberculosis-vaccine-could-help-protect-health-workers-from-covid-19-20200326-p54e7h.html
  9. I believe people are dwelling too much on worst case scenarios at this stage with too many unknowns to play out. Let’s see what happens first. If the season can get going again and completed for 2020 there is a good chance it will all be back to normal or at least a viable competition next season. GWS and GC are the clubs with the most to worry about because they are expendable and few will mourn their loss.
  10. A sensible approach is for players to be paid on a percentage of generated club revenue, percentage to be agreed on. That would be fair assuming complete transparency is adhered to. Further I would like to see all players be paid equally until certainty to the finances of the competition is restored.
  11. Stick fast Rab. Hope your chip fryer is still OK. As Rab would Say “No one of these bloody jobs exist do they? Christ, y'just stick them up there to take the bare look off the walls.”
  12. Well the members will be down the very bottom of the list of creditors assuming the club has any money left. If one has lost their job and access to finances then loss of membership money is no big deal. The cost of membership won’t go very far today. For me I won’t be pursuing any restitutuion. The club needs it and I will let the monthly deductions continue.
  13. Good chance the gym gear will never be returned and the administrators will have no assets left to liquidate.
  14. I seriously doubt that the AFL would want to lose up to a half a million fans from establishment clubs at this early stage. Most will never come back. It would be a worst case scenario. And easier to wind up the lesser performing clubs, their assets and liabilities then start up new ones with same name from scratch with no baggage and maintain the fan base. GWS and GC are no great loss. What fans they have will mostly transfer their allegiances.
  15. AFL has to look after its core assets and fan base as number 1 priority. Goodbye GC and GWS. A leaner stronger competition.
  16. He played like I said I hoped he would play when he lost the co-captaincy. Very impressive and gave a 100% though still lacking in disposal skills.
  17. At least we won the free kick count in a hostile environment.
  18. Positives - Kozzie, Viney and our fitness will ensure we will dominate junk time footy.
  19. Virus steps in prevent further embarrassment for us.
  20. Stop watching and go to Dan Murphy’s urgently. Apparently there is a run on booze ATM and beer sure to go the way of dunny paper.
  21. Players look too hot and bothered. Someone please give them some silk fans.
  22. Viney lucky to get the 50 penalty. Burned two open players in forward 50 and about to bomb it long again.
  23. Looks like we might rock bottom last after this round and stay there for a long time.
  24. Two points and WC go coast to coast from kickouts without us getting a touch
