I wish Goodwin every success but I am am not about to lavish premature praise on him like some already do here. The conga line of unsuccessful coaches is very long. The challenge for him is to make us elite and not just another pretender like North or Richmond. He has the players and extensive ground work has been done. I am not sure about the culture and commitment to success from players. He will get my praise when he makes us elite.

Wish him the best of luck and the ultimate success. Still has many demoms to vanquish within the club.

The Jesse Hogan Panic Room - all contract talk here

One could make the same accusation for Hogan. Plays for frees more often than not. Darling copped a lot of flak in last seasons GF. There were a couple of squibbish moments there. -

Most of those me me type personalities are more suited to strong clubs with rock solid cultures. They can keep them in line. -

If for genuine family reasons it may be in the best interest to keep it low key. Freo may be desperate but they also have to pay big for Hogan. Two edged sword for them. And if there is a stalemate as I said previously there may be a chance of another club swooping in. -

I think Weller signed an extension late last year. He also got a rising star nomination this season. Freo would be loathed to give him up considering their aging midfield. Perhaps Hogan has decided to go back home and the clubs cannot work out a suitable deal, hence the silence. They may be trying to give us someone like Barlow and second/third round pick. Apeness is another injury worry. -

One would idealy want to see Fyfe play at least a half dozen games before contemplating such a massive deal. -

If we insist on Neale or Fyfe it may be a reason why Hogan can't decide. I doubt Freo would bend unless one of them wanted to leave for us. -

2nd year player in the mould of a Jayden Hunt. Played 22 games this season and 3 last season. Can play outside, inside mid and half forward.. One of their few shining lights in a crap year. Will only get better. -

Weller and pick 3 sounds like a logical deal and perhaps with some steak knives thrown in. I would not be surprised if some serious talks between the clubs has happened already. Ther may be trying to gyp us assuming of course that Hogan is entertaining serious thoughts on going home. We are in the weaker bargaining position if so. -

To me this smacks of a stalemate and there is more to this than the homesick factor. -
Mummy even has been boasting how he will iron out players. http://www.dailytelegraph.com.au/sport/afl/teams/gws/gws-ruckman-shane-mumford-happy-to-clean-up-former-teammates/news-story/34400f8e5597e7a0dcfaa7765d6f2915

I am. We are talking about the MRP panel.

That's what the MRP saw. They grow hard grass up there.

His head hit the grass, not the ground.

Post Season Discussion 2016
John Crow Batty replied to Deemented Are Go!'s topic in Melbourne Demons
This note was found near the skip at MFC HQ. 10 do's and don't's for 2017 Never forget to remind the players they are better than they really are. That it is more important to look and swagger like an AFL footballer than being one. Tell them it's OK to make the same mistakes over and over again. If players routinely miss easy set shots for goal, never tell them their kicking stinks. The players feelings are more important than winning. Players can come to training in their super hero costumes. Engage Smiggles as new club stationary supplier. If players feel tired they can abstain from training and update their Facebook pages instead. If I lose my temper with them, immediately apologise and admit all my career coaching mistakes. Allow mothers and Saty to attend performance management meetings. SG -

Would not be surprised if Collingwood are interested in Hogan. They have got rid of Cloke and Cox looks like a spud. -

Protected species. Has nothing to worry about. Interesting to see what Mumford and Johnson get for their rough stuff from yesterday. -
So you prefer a manufactured pre digested football club to have success rather than a traditional club that built success from astuteness and hard work?

Victims of their own incompetence. Seed sown when they sacked McKenna. The AFE will find a way to save them eventually. They were travelling very well for a while.
