  1. Twice in the past month Melksham has put in ripper last quarters to save the game for us. As I thought before the game, the Hawks were going to rough up a few of our guns but it didn’t work. Their keeping’s off game also failed. Geelong and GWS tried it also. I hope WC also go for it. Our defence is finally looking far more settled and tight. Conceded 10 goals or less in past three rounds.
  2. Too many dreamers thinking Cerra is trade material. Like us trading Viney or Oliver after their first season.
  3. Just awesome. Can’t believe the crowd. Just like 1964.
  4. An unselfish Boomer Harvey if there is such a thing.
  5. Gets a lot of close checking and rough stuff from opponents. That’s why he whinges a lot to umpires. The opposition know not to give him space because he is dangerous in one to one contests and if he gets the ball and into space he is lethal.
  6. Andrew Brayshaw forgives Gaff https://www.theage.com.au/sport/afl/brayshaw-forgives-remorseful-gaff-for-sickening-punch-20180809-p4zwm0.html
  7. Thanks for the correction.
  8. Not surprising really. The West Australian is another one of Rupert Murdoch’s newspapers of anything for a buck fake news.
  9. Good to see Angus weigh in and say for the tribunal to just deal it with and then move on. Gaff will be suspended for remainder of the season IMO. Sounds like there will be no grudges from the Brayshaw’s and hopefully he comes to us next season. WC’s defence of Gaff is just slobery sucking up in an attempt to keep him.
  10. 6 to 8 years for manslaughter.
  11. I got king hit once on the footy field in my short career. Suffered a broken nose and a cracked wrist when I fell. The culprit later apologised and we got on fine after that. Everyone’s different but who knows how this will pan out.
  12. Just give him his 10 weeks and move on.
  13. Gaff would have to make his peace with the Brayshaw family and to secure Angus’s forgiveness and blessing for Gaff to come here. Years ago Tony Lockett playing for the Saints decked and injured badly Peter Caven from the Swans. Next season Lockett went to the Swans and Caven was not happy, asked for a trade and went to the Crows. The diffence is Gaff is not known for thuggery as Lockett was.
  14. Then the AFL should double his penalty to send a message to supporters and players that laud this kind of behaviour.
  15. His effort to get the ball and set up the last goal was very good. He was metres behind his opponent and willed himself to get to the contest and win the ball. Problem is he doesn’t do this kind of work often enough. Needs more of this kind of intensity in all contests. If he is carrying injuries then a rest should be considered.
  16. Had a rotten game but managed to disguise it well in the last 23 seconds.
  17. Lyon, Malthouse and Eade. Freo, Carlton and GC must be happy with their contributions...not. I don’t think any of those guys would have done better than Neeld. They would have added their own spin on disaster. Too much air had to be cleared out from the top.
  18. Neeld: I should have given older players more time to prove themselves ugh!
  19. Constable Thomas Lonigan who was murdered by Ned Kelly. The face is vaguely familiar.
  20. I like his mongrel. Every good side has more than one. Without him we would only have Viney.
  21. Since we only play one way we don’t need a set of goal posts to defend.
  22. Last season the post Darwin shockers were delayed for when we played North in Tassie two weeks later and also the following week against GWS. Then we were flat for the remainder of the season. We might be better off not turning up and conceding the Darwin game. Better for our finals chances.
  23. Omac hasn’t been the same since being concussed against the pies. Was always solid up till then.
  24. This AFL caper just seems too hard for this mob. Only comfortable with a JLT length season. Blow the opposition away with 3 goals in ten minutes then cruise control for the remainder. Where are the leaders? Why I am I seeing carbon copies of our worst games last season reprised? This game was the replica of the GWS game last season. Will be interesting to see what round 23 turns up if we haven’t blown our season already. And if we get done in by Freo next week I will not be surprised.
