Just heard from Biffen for the first time since he embarrassed me at the football last Monday. The fellow has no sense of propriety whatsoever. Anyway he is currently bragging about his latest venture in social climbing. Apparently he was invited to a "degustation" dinner by one of his colleagues. Biffen fairly gushed about the night. The menu consisted of "Sav soup" - that's what left after you have the actual savs for hors d'oeuvres and , naturally, a parma and chips for the main. The wine list was equally impressive - lots of bubbles, five litre casks of "South East Australian" dry red and flagons of Tawny Port to finish. Classy.

I fear my esteemed upper class mate Earl Hood may not being enjoying his free trade non genetic modified latte this morning. I have noted, sadly, that his name does not seem to appear as a gongee on list printed on this day of celebration in honour of our esteemed monarch's nativity. His selfless work in dealing with the eerr .... dregs of our community is again unrewarded and unrecognized.

Delistings/trades at end of the season
He also provides us with muscle and aggression at the contest. That is something we have been sadly lacking. I'm sick of Melbourne players being brushed aside or unable to hold a tackle. Our pizzweakness (sic)has been plain embarrassing over recent years.

The Alpacas are going ok Mable - the barn is centrally heated. In fact I flaked out there after last night's culinary disaster ( and a further bottle of shiraz). Can't chat as I'm currently trying to recover my reputation for producing culinary delights. Might be my last chance with the squeeze.

I'm venting! What a disaster of a night. Wanted to impress the squeeze tonight with a special dinner. Well FMD. First the young lady I'd employed to help for the night walked out and left me high and dry. Silly really. I had a bit of a slip and had to grab something to save myself- I'm sure all reasonable people will understand - well anyway, I'll let the courts sort that out. Then I thought all was going along swimmingly with my own chefing until ... Well Romsey Manor has a gourmet kitchen - including one of those fancy double ovens .... but somehow the system failed me! The temperatures were the wrong way around!!! FMD!!! Then the neighbour arrived making accusations and everything went to shite. Perhaps Earl Hood can advise me but being of a higher social order can be difficult.

I will always be "the gentleman from Romsey" - such things are a birthright after all all. However, you are correct, It seems that the ladies have worked me out. Classy dames such as Mable ignore me and Biff's slags demand inordinate amounts of money for displays of affection. The "lads" do remain reliable.

Funny you should say that. One Saturday evening while rehydrating in the dressing rooms there was a gigantic Melbourne thunderstorm. After about half an hour you could have floated "Proud Mary" on Sparks Reserve. The water was halfway up the goalposts. Sparks was an integral feature of the stormwater drainage system for that area.
