  1. Blaming Jackson?? He’s already been playing well for us in the last few games and I can’t see him slowing down for the remaining games. I hate this idea that if someone is likely to leave the club, they should be made to play out their remaining games in the VFL. Jackson obviously loves the club and his team mates, but he obviously has a strong desire to be in the same place as his family.
  2. I’ve been a member of Demonland for over 12 years now, since Demonology went all weird and no longer held any attraction for me. I’ve made a few real-world friendships thanks to this site and have become acquainted with some others when my son and I have attended training on our forays down to Melbourne (rare these days), but have also had the odd run in with certain posters, but that’s pretty much limited to politics in the General Discussion forum 😁 So, thanks Demonland for giving us a great shared footy experience… the only thing I’ve learnt is to avoid the game day threads… something that I’m slowly getting better at.
  3. No… he’ll announce it on GF eve, just to gee up the team and the supporters.
  4. Family should ALWAYS come first… I’d hardly call it a mistake.

I love the Manuka Oval as a venue to watch AFL, and I’ve always found parking to be relatively easy; public transport has always sucked big time in Canberra. The Manuka Oval reminds me of the days when the then VFL clubs had their own grounds (when I’d go in the 60’s) which were, for the most part, small capacity with a nice community like atmosphere.

I like that. The strange thing is, and this may just be me, but it feels like this could be part of a newish genre, video game music. That’s not a bad thing, by the way.
  7. It’s still pretty bad, but Giants Stadium, (or whatever it’s called) is pretty much Inner West these days.
  8. Loved Kingpin!
  9. Apologies… but that’s why we have emoticons šŸ˜‰
  10. I had a long hard look at the tackle and subsequent dropping of the ball… maybe you should have done the same.
  11. Regardless, it was the right call.

It was the opposite issue with The Clash's London Calling album (LP - not sure about the CD), where the song Train in Vain (Stand By Me) was not included on the track listing, either on the cover or on the label.

The Japanese have a history of girl bands going way back, and for the most part they’ve been excellent in terms of performance and musical ability.
  14. Ringo didn’t write it… it’s written by the Sherman brothers and was originally recorded by, I think, Johnny Burnette; although lyrically it’s probably something more suited to Jerry Lee Lewis.
  15. Perhaps that was directed at Demonlanders after all of the rubbishing he used to cop here week in and week out?
  16. You’re such a pedant!
  17. It was Melksham who got the ball out to Kossie. I thought that was possibly the key part of the play, as he could easily have tried to keep possession to ensure a ball up, but he kept his head and made a conscious effort to get the ball to Pickett instead.
  18. I’d just like to say that I am not going to post in this topic.

Or my favourite (which my band plans to cover in the form of a country song)…
  20. You did not state ā€œthere’s a good chanceā€ā€¦ you made a definitive statement that does belong as a post in the veil of negativity topic. It was an attention seeking post.
  21. Despite the fact that it’s our home game, the Pies will no doubt have the bigger crowd… it’s no coincidence that stock levels at Cash Converter stores throughout Melbourne, have been steadily increasing this week.
  22. One of the better and more interesting music documentaries is now showing on Netflix… Gurrumul. I cannot recommend this highly enough! Also pleased to see there are new series of What We Do in the Shadows and Succession available and coming, respectively on Foxtel. I love Succession because it is one of the only shows I’ve ever seen in which every single character has absolutely no redeeming features. What We Do in the Shadows is simply Taika Waititi magic.
  23. Also nice to see that our sponsors are well onboard and across all of detail…

You’re right… how on earth did I miss that?? Unfortunately the edit function is only available for a limited time, so I’m going to have to live with the humiliation that goes with my oversight 🤣
