I'm being pedantic I know, but Brad finished 11th not quite top ten.

Great to see young Ronnie again 'why you little'. Wouldn't he stir things up at the club?

Interesting that our captain doesn't feature in the Demonland letterhead.

Which Players Will Stand Up For Neeld
Bobby McKenzie replied to Watt and Howe?'s topic in Melbourne Demons
Exactly, one would hope the whole team will stand up and be counted. If they don't ,"see you later alligator!' -
Yes, it was great to see real old fashioned footy! Man on man contests, ball moving freely, great spoils, not the far too often seen footy basketball. Good DIRECT stuff. Hawks were stiff but that's Collingwood's ability to lift. I was so passionate wanting Collingwood to lose that I almost sweated on the Hawks to win like I do my beloved Dees! ALMOST I said! No, Hawthorn is not one of my favourite teams, it was just WHO they were playing.
-
Actually, I was thinking way back to 1958 when we were the best team in the comp but were beaten by Collingwood in the GF. Would have been nice if Hawks had have robbed them of premiership glory. Vindictive I certainly am.

Leave our game alone! It is fast becoming unrecognisable with so many rule changes etc over the past 5 years. Enough is enough!
-
And get rid of posters who want to push a dead horse! The collar is fine. The BEST way for our boys to be tough and hard is not to remove the collar but to PLAY tough and hard. Clearly, Dee-mon you are fighting a losing argument here. Close the topic Mods.

Bruce missed selection due to soreness in his injured knee that has kept him out for most of the season. He put the team first just like he did in 2000 when he felt he wasn't quite fit enough to play in the GF. This was after he and Brad Green starred when we came from behind to beat Carlton the week before. You can't tell me that after a great game last week he wouldn't even be named as an emergency. Come on mate have a fair look at the situation here.

Good one 'Striker'. You are right. i think Wallis told the tribunal he was retiring thus no further action. Then he makes a comeback.Perfect poetic justice here. .

And what would we be called? SAINT DEMONS!!

OMR's Crystal Ball - SAM BLEASE
Bobby McKenzie replied to Old Man Rivers's topic in Melbourne Demons
And for the older posters on this forum. Is Sam another Frank 'Bluey' Adams? Would love to think that we had another 'Bluey' on board. -
No way Essendon would let him go after watching those highlights. He would be a real acquisition though if it happened.
-
Yep, give me the good old 'one on one' style any day. Free flowing footy is more akin to soccer and basketball. I'm not getting excited but Lyon could be the answer. Malthouse would be the perfect fit. We need a tough, bastard coach.
-
Yes, the opposition player was sitting on his back. When I was umpiring high school kids in this situation I would have used my old call after blowing the whistle, " Get off his back, he's not a horse and you're not a jockey! Free kick for in the back!" Now it seems you can lie on top of a player and he gets pinged for holding the ball. Oh, how the game has changed.

I would settle for Eade. He would no doubt shape up a few of our casual laconic players. We have too many of them at the moment.

In case you were wondering about Colin Sylvia ...
Bobby McKenzie replied to ...'s topic in Melbourne Demons
Agree to agree. -
Fair enough about the hit outs but I didn't see the need for averages since they have both played the same number of games this season.
-
I know we aren't supposed to compare the two as both are doing the job for their respective clubs, but the stats thus far make for interesting reading. Kicks Nik Nat 87- Jack 174, HB Nik Nat 135- Jack 142, Disposals NN 222- Jack 316, Marks NN 44 -Jack 109, Tackles NN 70 -Jack 45 ( a win to NN here!),Goals NN 12- Jack 20, DT points progressive total, NN 1290- Jack 1422. It is important too to remember that NN is in a team going well getting a lot of support and Jack is in a team really struggling with little or no support. Wattsy will be a real STAR that's for sure. Not so sure about NN. An average of 10 disposals per game is not too brilliant. Time will tell.

Just like the 'We can beat the Hawks' one.

Could jack watts win our best and fariest
Bobby McKenzie replied to Goat's topic in Melbourne Demons
Not really. Our system is too much of a lottery I'm sorry to say. -
2012 - Captain & Leadership Group
Bobby McKenzie replied to Disco Demons's topic in Melbourne Demons
Interesting that Brad wasn't in our leadership group only two years ago. eg When we had joint captains in Junior and Cam Bruce. Not all players are natural leaders on and off the field. Sooner see him as a player, playing well and kicking goals from all angles like he used to. At the moment I am just as nervous when he is shooting for goal as I was when Brucey was having a shot. -
But we beat Essendon! Crazy isn't?

Good for you for having a go Jumping Jack. I was going to have a go too but it was too difficult. Maybe I needed a few wines first.
