The number plate I saw was 64 MFC. No zero and the MFC came second. So yours is different with the MFC first and a zero before the 6. Cheers mate.

Indigenous All Stars v West Coast Eagles
Bobby McKenzie replied to Whispering_Jack's topic in Melbourne Demons
Apparently was not available. Wants to concentrate on having the maximum impact on the field for the Dees. -
I'm glad about that. I wondered whether Tunbridge had kicked two goals from the coaches box. Was Sandral the incorrectly named half forward flanker?

Fair enough comments Dees2014. Thanks for the explanation. I was just a little puzzled.

I'll make a discount for Demons supporters. How about $25 k ? Love your humour DeeVoted.

No, it was not a silver Toyota but a bright red ute with P plates. (I am not good at brands). It was definitely 64 MFC. Better check your plates! There couldn't be two 64 MFC plates!

I pulled up behind a car at the lights in Woodvale(suburb of Perth) and was pleased to see I had one mate at least in this city as his number plate read 64 MFC. My plates are 57 MFC. I always thought that 1957, the third of a hat trick of premierships was the best. It was also unique in that we were surprisingly beaten in the 2nd semi by Essendon. A crushing win over the Hawks and a big win over the Bombers in the GF was perfect payback. However, while I reckoned on my 1957 plate being superior I started to ponder over the 1964 one. Sadly, in view of our lot this one represents our LAST premiership. Maybe it is more famous than my 1957 one. Thoughts?

Bernie Vince no potential? Could you elaborate on this one please?

It would be complete stupidity to throw out Jackson who has done a big job in a small amount of time to bring the MFC back to life. Let's hope it won't ever happen.

Training - Wednesday, 4th February, 2015
Bobby McKenzie replied to The Devil Inside's topic in Melbourne Demons
You both beat me to it. It's a strange situation when we get so many injuries just training. I can understand contact injuries but we seem to have a lot of soft tissue injury problems. -
Its the grand old flag, with Melbourne in it.

Agree with keeping the song as is but why would you want to change our beautiful jumper? It's the best in the league. I'm not biased of course. -
I didn't know about the Sale footy club but it is the theme song of West Perth in the WAFL. They are red and blue so it is the same as our mighty song. The first chorus at least. One cheeky West Perth supporter even told me that the Melbourne Football Club copied it from West Perth! LOL. It is a grand old song and let's hope we hear it a lot more this year.

Thanks mate. Well told and very funny. Can't remember that one but my memory ain't what it used to be!

Are you going to tell us about it DeeVoted? We are very curious about this yarn. I think it was Noel McMahen who ironed out Bobby Rose which did not make him very popular with the Collingwood crowd.

One of best ever half back flankers"Height and weight 182 cm 80 kg" Was he really only 182cm?? I was only 9 in 1964 so I guess all the players were big to me. My recollection of him was of being a real dashing defender. My Mum always said he was "dependable". One of the best half back flankers I've ever seen. And playing on the other flank was the tough, no beg pardons Noel McMahen. You wonder at times how the other teams even scored.

I was one of those lucky people. The only doubts I would have on a Saturday morning would be if we were playing Collingwood at Victoria Park or Geelong at Kardinia Park. Yes, even in our golden era we still had trouble beating the cats at the Cattery.

My five are: Jack Watts, Jeff Garlett, Max Gawn, Viv Michie and Rohan Bail. Bail has filled out physically and he is still a very fast mover. Let's see how my five go.

I would love to think you are right BUT the guy has not even played one game for the Dees. (Not counting pre season games). He looks a very likely prospect but we shall have to wait and see what happens. I remember John Tilbrook only too well. Don't get me wrong, I am NOT saying Hogan is another Tilbrook.

Just to clarify my namesakes athletic ability. Don was a JUNIOR high jump, long jump and triple jump champion of Victoria and a bloody champion footballer.

Talking point: the unevenness of the competition
Bobby McKenzie replied to Whispering_Jack's topic in Melbourne Demons
Yep.The Free agency farce is making the gap between top and bottom bigger by the minute. Will the AFL ever learn? -
I will always remember the heartfelt emotions of our boys when they demolished the Bombers in Troy's Tribute match. They played for Troy that day.

Congrats on those superb photos Six6Six. You must be a skilled photographer as well as having a super camera. Good to see the boys working hard and enjoying themselves. I liked the shots of Jack Watts on the bike and his serious approach to his task. Good to see Trenners there too. You have covered many players in action. Thank you.

Exactly. 39 in 2010,48 in 2011 and 43 in 2013. I'll suggest 42 in 2015.

What win will be your favourite??
Bobby McKenzie replied to Bleeds_Red_&_Blue's topic in Melbourne Demons
Beating Eagles and Dockers at Subi and going home with a grin on my face! (Might find my tyres slashed though). Breaking the drought at Etihad would be great too.
