Maybe someone watching the second quarter could time how long it went from siren to siren? Please do so to prove my point or otherwise. Thanks someone.

Well the Match centre timeon my computer must have been way out because it definitely nearly reached 43 mins. I thought the timekeepers had gone home

That 2nd quarter today was made harder for us to endure by the length of it. I was 'watching' the match on Match Centre and it went for just under 43 minutes ( total elapsed time). Surely this would have to be one of the longest quarters in AFL/VFL history? Was there an injury that caused a major hold up?

Don't include $cully with the others please. The others were given the marching orders by a strange thinking FD.

Happy Birthday Ron What an inspirational and brilliant footballer. What a finals player. Come on present players, get another premiership for our champion. Maybe more.

Works in reverse for other no so pro Watts. When he played good, really good games they went into the woodwork refusing to acknowledge his performance. Good luck Jack we will really miss you and so will Hoges and Jeffy.

Ah la Jeffy.

Neither do I. Doesn't make much sense.

Crystal Ball 2018: Predictions for next season
Bobby McKenzie replied to P-man's topic in Melbourne Demons
We will drop down to 10th next season. Lack of forward depth with Jeffy and Jess seriously missing the creativity of one Jack Watts. Defence will keep us in many games but we will not kick enough winning scores. Jayden Hunt to have a stellar year. -
Please mods close this stupid, meaningless thread. It only gives the Watts haters more opportunity to vent their unbelievable hatred for Jack. He is a Port player now through no fault of his own! We have had enough on Jack, quite enough.

It was a mongrel kick for goal too but it wobbled through. Neitz got a bit excited seconds before the siren and pushed Farmer in the back. Should have kept to his domain that day ,the forward line.

The Scrapping of the Bounce is Imminent

Max a dinosaur and outdated? Don't know that he would be impressed with that. -
Good, logical thoughts Junior. All will be revealed come March 2018. Hey, that's not too far away I guess. Four months is not long particularly when one is over a hundred years of age. In some ways I wish we could be like the EPL with a very short break between seasons. I bet our players wouldn't fancy playing in 40 degrees though.

Sounds like you reckon they won't be strengthened by the inclusion of this trio. Motlop played brilliantly in Geelong's last finals game. Not being required is not always about a footballers ability you know. Other factors come into it.

Maybe I will leave out the winning goal bit on reflection. Like you, I do want Jack to do well against us but hope Melbourne can win. I can't say I agree with your views on Port. They will be a very strong team with their latest imports giving them every chance of winning the flag. Three very talented footballers without a doubt. What trading they did compared to our miserable performance. They must have more money than us.

Are you excited at watching Jack demolish us and kick the winning goal ah la Collingwood, Revenge is sweet.

That's a big call. We will never know will we?

You missed yourself and me Len!

On our lengthy discussion on JW a few posters asked how Norm Smith would have been coaching Jack Watts. Smith coached teams in our golden years beautifully balanced with toughness and skill. The tough hard at it guys were Ron Barassi, Peter Marquis, Noel McMahen ( fearsome) Laurie Mithen ( tough and skilful) Clyde Laidlaw and John Lord to name a few. On the skilled side were Don Williams, Athol Webb, Ian McLean, Bob McKenzie ,Geoff Tunbridge, Ian Ridley and Ken Melville. Some might argue about Tunbridge as being skilled but was he skilled when shooting for goal on the run! Wobbly old punt kicks but so accurate. So basically Jack would fit into the second category and IMO Smithy would want him in his team.

What a [censored] view of Watts in that he was carried by Hogan ANB and Garlett. Many of the goals scored by that trio were results of Watts setting them up. Jeffy and Hogan are going to miss Jack VERY much. Fancy the word [censored] being censored, It does have other meanings you know. WTF it has been censored again. I will try quere and see if that passes the censor. Talk about political correctness. Funny how WTF passes.

A serious question, no rights or wrongs about it.
