Hogan set to miss VFL finals There's already a separate thread about Jesse Hogan's injury but here are the rest:- Dom Barry (groin) test Chris Dawes (calf) test James Frawley (hamstring) test Tom Gillies (calf) test Mark Jamar (toe) test Tom Couch (hamstring) 2 weeks Jesse Hogan (knee) 4-6 weeks Sam Blease (ankle) season Shannon Byrnes (foot) season Mitch Clark (foot) season Michael Evans (foot) season James Strauss (shoulder) season With four players injured at the weekend and Joel Macdonald retiring, it's a massive blow to the Casey Scorpions' finals prospects.

We know all about James Frawley and his hamstring injury - Frawley set to miss up to a month But here's the full injury list: Rohan Bail (knee) test Colin Garland (ankle) test Joel Macdonald (groin) test Jordie Mackenzie (concussion) test David Rodan (hamstring) test James Sellar (hamstring) test Nathan Stark (ankle) test Tom Couch (hamstring) 2 weeks Mark Jamar (foot) 2 weeks Michael Evans (foot) 3 weeks James Frawley (hamstring) 3-4 weeks Mitch Clark (foot) season

The quote in the post above came from ROUND 14 VFL PLAYER REVIEW This one's about Troy Davis:
-
Garland unlikely to play against Kangas Rohan Bail (knee) 2-3 weeks Mitch Clark (foot) season Tom Couch (hamstring) 2 weeks Michael Evans (foot) 3 weeks Colin Garland (ankle) test Mark Jamar (foot) 3 weeks Joel Macdonald (groin) test David Rodan (hamstring) 1-2 weeks Nathan Stark (ankle) test

Round 16 Melbourne injury list Rohan Bail (knee) 2-3 weeks Sam Blease (ankle) test Mitch Clark (foot) indefinite Michael Evans (foot) 3 weeks James Frawley (hamstring) test Mark Jamar (foot) 3 weeks Joel Macdonald (foot) available Jordie McKenzie (elbow) available Nathan Stark (ankle) 1-2 weeks Jack Viney (foot) available
-
Not that it matters very much because the entire list is on a very well deserved, hard earned break this weekend but cop this anyway:- Mitch Clark (foot) 4-5 weeks Chris Dawes (ankle) 1-2 weeks James Frawley (hamstring) 3 weeks Jack Grimes (shoulder) 3-4 weeks Jordie McKenzie (face) test Jack Viney (toe) 1 week

According to the Age - It's Thursday and they don't know yet?
-
That game didn't count. We were tanking but Andy should come back with that team just for the record.

I'm not even going to waste anybody's time with the injury list from the Herald Sun's barometer series because they never get it right and even if they were remotely close, they would still miss out on the mystery injuries of the week like Shannon Byrnes and Jack Viney from last week. So I'll concentrate on the opposition this week and if they got them right, then we really can't cry about our injury toll this week: Jon Griffin (knee) season Kepler Bradley (knee) season Aaron Sandilands (hamstring) 5 weeks Matthew Pavlich (achilles) 2 weeks Anthony Morabito (knee) 4 weeks Stephen Hill (quad) 1-2 weeks Michael Walters (ankle) 3-4 weeks As for Melbourne, it's looking like one out will be Jimmy Toumpas while Jack Watts could come back from injury and Cam Pedersen is also a good chance after a very good game with Casey and possibly Sam Blease.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - BILLY STRETCH

If he's the one I'm thinking about he's about 23 years old. -
The Age list seems to be more up to date than the one in the HUN: Mark Jamar (groin) test, Jack Trengove (calf) test, Jack Watts (hamstring) test, Tom McDonald (shoulder) 1-2 weeks, Nathan Stark (groin) 2 weeks, Mitch Clark (foot) 5-7 weeks, Jack Grimes (shoulder) 6-8 weeks.
-
Apart from Tom Mac, there's no let up in sight according to the BAROMETER and Colin Sylvia's out for 3 weeks as well. Mark Jamar (groin) 1-2 weeks Jack Watts (hamstring) 1-2 weeks Jack Grimes (collarbone) 6-7 weeks Mitch Clark (foot) 6-7 weeks Jack Trengove (calf) 2-3 weeks Tom McDonald (shoulder) TBA This doesn't take into account the obligatory one or two mystery injuries of the week. IMO, we just swap 8 or 9 players with Casey and be done with it. Inclusions should be Nev Jetta, Jimmy T and Jack Fitzpatrick as well as Tom.
-
And rookie Nathan Stark for a couple of weeks.
-
From the HUN's Barometer Mark Jamar (groin) TBC Jack Watts (hamstring) TBC Jack Grimes (collarbone) 4-8 weeks Mitch Clark (foot) 5-6 weeks

The Barometer MELBOURNE INJURIES Jordie McKenzie (calf) TBC Jack Fitzpatrick (concussion) test Lynden Dunn (hamstring tightness) test Nathan Stark (knee) test Joel Macdonald (hamstring) 1 weeks Chris Dawes (hamstring) 2 weeks ON THE BLOCK: Plenty of players put themselves on the block in the second half against the Eagles. Mark Jamars horrible season continues with the big fella failing to take a mark and finding one kick. Aaron Davey was subbed out with five kicks, Cam Pedersen again battled while Jimmy Toumpas who will be a super midfielder doesnt look up to AFL standard just yet. ON THE CUSP: Boy, wouldnt the Demons love to blood Jesse Hogan this week? Theyve got a ripper in the teenage power forward from out west. He monstered North Ballarat in the VFL with four goals and a clutch of marks, but cant debut until next season. Max Gawn was terrific again, ramping up the heat on Jamar, while James Strauss tried hard. As for Jack Watts? He didnt play anywhere, with the Dees bizarrely taking their three emergencies to the MCG on Saturday.

Because somebody thought it was a good idea to get rid of the club president of the time who came up with the idea.

PRACTICE MATCH: CASEY SCORPIONS v PORT MELBOURNE
alpha33 replied to Whispering_Jack's topic in Melbourne Demons
Problem is we would have to be limited in the number of players going into a season with virtually no match practice at all. I can't see more than a couple who could go into the team for round 1 with such a low base of match practice. -
I think we might get more in the long run out of Matt Jones at 25 than Colin Sylvia at 28. His performance is likely to be more constant over time and that's what you want from a player - consistency of effort.
-
Probably this week's mystery injury.
-
According to the Herald Sun Jordie McKenzie (virus) -available Jack Viney (neck) - test Chris Dawes (hamstring) test Tom McDonald (ankle) - 1 week Mitch Clark (foot) - 2 to 4 weeks Jack Trengove (foot) - 2 to 4 weeks Sam Blease (ankle) - 2 to 4 weeks Rohan Bail (concussion) - 3 weeks Max Gawn (hamstring) - 3 to 5 weeks
