  1. So the scenario is that just before Fremantle takes Jesse Hogan on a tour of their facility, a number of rumours start circulating about him that paint him in a negative light. The Dockers make him a lucrative offer to come home and then give Melbourne a low ball offer which, when rejected, causes them to pull out of doing their due diligence. Most clubs have gone beyond that style of negotiating but the rhinestone cowboys of Freo have yet to learn. I think they might be experiencing a bit of a wake up call at just about now.
  2. Any chance that Andrew Bradshaw going to Melbourne the could be part of a deal involving Hogan?
  3. I doubt anyone needs to be told about the opportunity that awaits them if they can hit top form and get into the side for the finals.
  4. I wonder whether this is going to have an effect on the rest of the Collingwood team?
  5. The Redsocks are killing them in the MLB. The Redlegs to do the job here!!!
  6. There are some great threads up on Saintsational ATM, reminiscent of the dark days over here. "Time to turn toxic" "Has Richo lost the players?" "Spineless Saints forfeit" "The most hopeless st kilda team I have ever seen" and what about this one in the middle of it all? "Saintsational meet and greet????" I was tempted to register and start a thread suggesting Mark Neeld was available as a replacement coach but I thought I would end up feeling guilty about trolling a team while it's down.
  7. Wheels have come off.
  8. Tonight just made it harder to get him.
  9. The VFL website still has the Casey Demons v Redtails game listed for 3.00pm today. Next week's game will be an intraclub match at Casey Fields at 7pm on Friday.
  10. Mark Stevens tweet: "Dees confirm Kennedy Harris 6-8 weeks. Vandenberg fate still unclear after scans yesterday @7NewsMelbourne".

  13. This sounds suspiciously like an injury report. When do we get the official one? ?
  14. Anyone know when they're back at training in Melbourne? Do we assume it will be at Casey Fields because of the tennis?
  15. I have three northern states Academy players in the top 10 which makes the bidding system important again. This means that although we've traded out our first round pick for 2016, we might still trade back in - one simply can't tell at this stage. Also, it's been reported that Ben Ainsworth who trained with us late last year is injured and at this stage will miss most of the preseason.
  16. Well, I've studied the field (mainly from reading up but some of these played in last year's championships) and here's my first for the year:- Sam Petrevski-Seton (Claremont WA) 181cm 72kg D.O.B: 19/2/98 Midfield/Forward Jacob Allison (Brisbane Academy) 193 cm 73 kg D.O.B: 16/4/98 Tall Midfielder Ben Ainsworth (Gippsland Power) 177cm 73kg D.O.B: 10/2/98 Small Midfielder Jarrod Berry (North Ballarat Rebels) 190 cm 80 kg D.O.B: 5/2/98 Defender Sam Powell-Pepper (East Perth WA) 188 cm 83 kg D.O.B: 8/1/98 Tall Midfielder Jordan Gallucci (Eastern Ranges) 182 cm 73 kg D.O.B: 4/5/98 Midfielder Jonty Scharenberg (Glenelg SA) 185 cm 77 kg D.O.B: 28/8/98 Midfielder Harrison Macreadie (GWS Academy) 195 cm 82 kg D.O.B: 11/4/98 Tall defender Josh Battle (Dandenong Stingrays) 194 cm 89 kg D.O.B: 1/9/98 Tall forward Jack Bowes (Gold Coast Academy) 187 cm 76 kg D.O.B: 26/1/98 Midfielder/forward Will Brodie (Murray Bushrangers) 187 cm Weight: 80 kg D.O.B: 23/8/98 Midfielder Jy Simpkin (Murray Bushrangers) 181 cm 71 kg D.O.B: 5/3/98 Midfielder
  17. Seeing that we're not involved in the big dance ... Kennedy-Harris in GF sprint
  18. I think we might have pulled the trigger on Fitzy prematurely. It's true that he was on the outer with the selection panel but surely he might have been useful in the trade period? Now, he can be taken as a DFA for nothing and it would not surprise if that happened.
  19. Chris Dawes and Dom Tyson are said to be set to play against the Hawks on Saturday. Jack Viney is 1 to 2 weeks away from playing. Injury list: round six Sam Frost (toe) – 4-6 weeks Dean Kent (hamstring) – 8 weeks Christian Petracca (knee) – season Jack Trengove (foot) – season Jack Viney (fibula) – 1-2 weeks
  20. A week's a long time in footy Melbourne injury list: round four Sam Frost (toe) – 6-8 weeks Jayden Hunt (back) – 3 weeks Christian Petracca (knee) – season Jack Trengove (foot) – season Jack Viney (fibula) – 4-6 weeks
  21. Round one injury list Jayden Hunt (back) – 4-6 weeks Alex Neal-Bullen (knee) – 3 weeks Jack Trengove (foot) – indefinite Christian Petracca (knee) – season Bit of a blow that Jayden Hunt who has missed a lot of the pre season will be out for the proverbial 4 to 6. The incredible thing is that three of our injured four are kids with no senior experience meaning that Trenners is the only player with AFL experience on the injury list. Of course, this does not include the mystery injury of the week, probably Dean Terlich who hasn't played during the pre season but has also not been included on the injury list despite obviously not being fit to play.
  22. The AFL has announced the following unlisted players currently have permission to train with AFL clubs: Adelaide Crows Nil. Brisbane Lions Nil. Carlton Jason Tutt (Western Bulldogs). Collingwood Tony Armstrong (Collingwood). Essendon Anthony McDonald-Tipungwuti (Essendon VFL), Sam Tagliabue (Essendon VFL). Fremantle Nil. Geelong Cats Nil. Gold Coast Suns Greg Broughton (Gold Coast Suns), Andrew Raines (Brisbane Lions). GWS Giants Nil. Hawthorn Nil. Melbourne Mitchell Gent (Casey Scorpions), Edward Morris (Casey Scorpions), James Munro (Casey Scorpions), Bryce Rutherford (Casey Scorpions), Luke Tapscott (Melbourne). North Melbourne Cameron Delaney (North Melbourne), Max Warren (North Melbourne). Port Adelaide Nil. Richmond Nil. St Kilda Cameron Banfield (Sandringham), Elliot le Grice (Sandringham), Shaun McKernan (Adelaide Crows), Jack Noone (Sandringham), Kenny Ong (Sandringham), Jared Petrenko (Adelaide Crows), Adam Schneider (St Kilda), Jeremy Taylor (Gold Coast Suns). Sydney Swans Nil. West Coast Nil. Western Bulldogs Brett Goodes (Western Bulldogs), Alex Greenwood (Western Bulldogs), Daniel Pearce (Western Bulldogs).
  23. Lewis, I hope but I wouldn't play him in a back pocket
  24. The AFL makes the rules not the players' association. They have the final say and I don't think we've heard anything from them as yet, have we?
  25. When was the last time Taylor Hunt played for Geelong?
