We lost the free kick count 23-10 and the inequality in that department has been fairly constant and telling over the three weeks of the NAB Cup programme. Of course, there's no law that you have to get the same number of frees as your opponent but if it happens often enough, then there is a problem with the way we play. The coaches need to work out what it's all about because these figures suggest we're playing one man short over the ground every week we play.

Half time free stats were 15-5 in favour of the Saints who would have set up more than half their score from frees.

Don't forget the AFL has been preoccupied with the tanking story for more than 6 months. You can't expect them to run the game properly as well.

INJURY LIST Nothing new or startling there.

Training - Wednesday 30th January, 2013
alpha33 replied to Whispering_Jack's topic in Melbourne Demons
Can't help you about today's training session but the club has tweeted this about Friday's training session: "Friday’s open training session has been moved from Casey Fields to Moorabbin Oval (32-60 Linton Street, Moorabbin) #firstandforever" This suggests they're going to be doing some wet weather football training because they always leave the sprinklers on overnight at that venue. -
Being a hypocrite is one thing and being a liar is another. Imagine if he was a both a hypocrite and a liar and this investigation was triggered by such a person and those who set him up?

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - JACK VINEY
alpha33 replied to einstein251's topic in Melbourne Demons
Speculation in today's Age that Jack Viney will be nominated at #2 by the Gold Coast Suns next month - Suns could put heat on Dees for Viney The question is how would Melbourne respond? It would be tempting for the Dees to take Grundy and Toumpas or O'Rourke with picks 3 and 4 giving us a terrific combination of tall & midfielder with the possibility of young Jack doing a Scully after 2 development years on the Coast and asking for a trade back to Melbourne. Interesting times ahead! -
This is the list from today's Age: Jared Rivers (groin) test Clint Bartram (knee) season Jamie Bennell (knee) season Michael Evans (back) season Max Gawn (knee) season Stef Martin (foot) season Cale Morton (shoulder) season Ricky Petterd (Achilles) season Rory Taggert (back) season Also not available Brad Green - retired Liam Jurrah - on leave Kelvin Lawrence - left club

The Herald Sun's Footy Barometer for Round 23 is out and here's the story on MELBOURNE: Stef Martin's an interesting one because I was sure I heard he was out for the season. If he comes in it would be to help Casey out as surely he wouldn't be going to Perth on the back of several weeks out with an ankle injury?
-
The Herald Sun's Footy Barometer says:- MELBOURNE Stef Martin (ankle) test Mark Jamar (calf) 1-2 weeks Clint Bartram (knee) season Jamie Bennell (knee) season Mitch Clark (foot) season Aaron Davey (foot) season Max Gawn (knee) season Cale Morton (shoulder) season Ricky Petterd (achilles) season Rory Taggert (back) indefinite Kelvin Lawrence (calf) left the club
-
The Herald Sun's injury list below but it couldn't possibly be correct. I heard over the weekend that Ricky Petterd has an Achilles problem and might be out for the rest of the season. Jai Sheahan who has been shown as "(ankle) test" for the past couple of weeks has actually been playing and was named in Casey's best against Geelong. Footy Barometer Jack Watts (ankle) test Jai Sheahan (ankle) test James Frawley (quad) TBC Mark Jamar (calf) 1-2 weeks Clint Bartram (knee) season Jamie Bennell (knee) season Mitch Clark (foot) season Aaron Davey (foot) season Max Gawn (knee) season Cale Morton (shoulder) season Rory Taggert (back) indefinite Kelvin Lawrence (calf) left the club

Liam Jurrah off the injury list for the first time in what, three months? Some of the highlights of this week's injury list: * Liam Jurrah improves from 1-3 weeks to 1 - 2 weeks in the week before his next court appearance; * three players face fitness tests but Casey's bye makes two of those tests relatively worthless because it's highly unlikely that either Tynan or Sheahan would have a game to play regardless of the outcome; * Jamie Bennell's ACL brings to five the number of players on the list who are gawn for the rest of the season; * the TBC category raises it's ugly head again. What it means is nobody really has a clue what's going on with the blokes in question; amf * Pickles is out for 1 - 2 with a back after playing well at Casey last week. Either that or the fact that he's studying law means he's been co-opted onto Liam Jurrah's defence team. Good luck to the Warlpiri Wizard anyway. Hope he's back soon! James Sellar (thigh) test Josh Tynan (concussion) test Jai Sheahan (ankle) test Lynden Dunn (suspension) available Luke Tapscott (groin) TBC Jack Watts (ankle) TBC Liam Jurrah (ankle) 1-2 weeks Michael Evans (back) 1-2 weeks Mark Jamar (calf) 3 weeks Rory Taggert (back) indefinite Aaron Davey (foot) season Jamie Bennell (knee) season Clint Bartram (knee) season Max Gawn (knee) season Mitch Clark (foot) season

Liam Jurrah no longer 2 - 4!!! Mark Jamar (calf) test James Sellar (thigh) test Jai Sheahan (ankle) test Tom McDonald (internal injuries) 1 week Liam Jurrah (ankle) 1-2 weeks Michael Evans (back) 1-2 weeks Kelvin Lawrence (calf) 2 weeks Rory Taggert (back) indefinite Clint Bartram (knee) season Max Gawn (knee) season Mitch Clark (foot) season
-
Why not 1 - 10 weeks and then they should just about have all bases covered.
-
If you thought Liam Jurrah would be back by now, think again: Brad Green (quadriceps) - test Mark Jamar (calf) - test Nathan Jones (calf) - test James Sellar (thigh) - test Jai Sheahan (ankle) - test Tom McDonald (lung) - 1-2 weeks Michael Evans (back) - 2-3 weeks Liam Jurrah (ankle) - 2-4 weeks Clint Bartram (knee) - season Mitch Clark (foot) - season Max Gawn (knee) - season Rory Taggert (back) - indefinite

Round 12/13 injury list Rohan Bail (concussion) - test Clint Bartram (knee) - test Brad Green (groin) - test Ricky Petterd (hamstring) - test Liam Jurrah (ankle) - 2-4 weeks Neville Jetta (ankle) - 3-5 weeks Michael Evans (back) - 5-7 weeks Rory Taggert (back) - indefinite Max Gawn (knee) - season There are no Casey Senior games this week so it's highly possible that a couple of the abovenamed will make their return with a run in the Casey ressies.

There are a few listed as coming back this week which is good because we need them:- Michael Evans (back) - indefinite James Frawley (calf) - test Max Gawn (knee) - season Brad Green (finger) - 1 week Jordan Gysberts - test (ankle) Neville Jetta (ankle) - indefinite Liam Jurrah (wrist) - test Stef Martin (hip) - test James Strauss (leg) - test Josh Tynan (foot) - 2-3 weeks Although Josh Tynan is listed as "2-3 weeks" an artcile on the club's site indicated he might be right this week. Also good to see that James Magner is not on the list.
