Angus Brayshaw Forced into Retirement
Thank you Gus for your outstanding contribution to the club. You retire with the admiration of all Dees supporters and no doubt the whole AFL community. Almost won the Brownlow (you were robbed), won a premiership and made a stellar contribution on that day and every day you were at the club. You always put the club first and now its time to put yourself first. Great BBQ Onion tips btw. Whilst we are sad, we are very proud of all you have done in your career and know that you will continue to succeed in whatever comes next because despite the hurdles life has put in your way you have shown a unique ability to jump right over them. All the best to you and your family.

PRESEASON TRAINING: Monday 4th December 2023
Is that even possible?

Welcome to Demonland: Caleb Windsor
Wont see a post like that on the Collingwood forum.....

Daniel Curtin
Is it a WA plot to ensure he falls to where ever they can get him? Clarko building him up a ruse to have a go at pick 1?

The 2023 AFL Draft Thread
Actually do we have any picks in the opening round (round zero) of the draft? Surely we get one for playing in the opening round?
-
The 2023 AFL Draft Thread
Just looking at the graphic really reinforces two things: NM absolutely snowed the AFL and WC need more high picks; 1, 23, 37 wont cut it for a rebuild. They must be dirty on NM and will have the hand out next year. A very bad precedent reminiscent of GC (who through the academy are getting yet another leg up.) Also Adelaide must be well placed to move up the order.

Prediction Time
I doubt it is a smokescreen as it was an offer that could have been accepted and as yet hasn't been rejected and Taylor when asked who he would pick at 6 said Reid indicating the obvious that anyone who could select him would unless they had bigger issues (go home and need for multiple quality picks)
-
Prediction Time
I think we will get Reid. Nth think they are no chance, JT has been to Esperance sending the clear message we will take the best WA talent if it falls at our picks. West Coast take the flight risk with Read and missing out on multiple high end picks. There is something going on.

How would Tim Lamb answer these: Is kane a s Stirrer? Should demonland close this thread?

The Pick 1 Thread
Why would they believe that? North throwing away pick 2 on player bound to ask for a trade back West asap, it doesn't make any sense.

Nick Watson
I watched Watson in a game (cant recall which one) and he was very impressive but my concern is how will he prosper in the AFL environment where everything is bigger, stronger and faster? The latter being a concern as the space he makes may disappear up a level. Is his size going to be an issue amongst more mature bodies? I genuinely don't know the answer but hold a concern. Open to any views.

Dees Salary Cap Dump
Pick 7 and Haynes?

The 2023 Draft and Trade Targets Thread
I think there is a bit of an obsession with picks, its been noted elsewhere what is important is the talent you can bring in. With cap space issues you want the best talent you can find and having 3 or even 6 second round picks are not much use if you don't rate them but have to pay them. Someone noted that Nth offered 4 corollas for a Ferrari which captured the point well.

The 2023 Draft and Trade Targets Thread
Our recruiters who have been excellent at picking talent in the range dont see it this year but do see it in the top range.

Adelaide throwing the toys out of the cot....

Are we into someone else at Adelaide? They are just trying to talk this up and its very strange to do so after Lambs comments... (ok ignore the above have just caught up on the rumours thread about Fogarty. Explains the bleating from Adelaide. )

Farewell Brodie Grundy
Very poor negotiation on the part of Sydney. An offer like that send all the wrong messages to the market. We are perfectly entitled to say to Grundy's management, we try to help players out and do quick and fair deals (see JJ and Harmes) and we have tried a fair deal for Brody but we are not going to be treated with contempt, Brody can take it up with the Swans.

Farewell James Harmes
Thanks James, an epic contribution to the club captured in one glorious grand final kick. Good luck and we look forward to seeing you back cheering on the Dees in due course. A heart that beats true.

Tom Hawkins
Long way from the farm to Casey.

2023 Best and Fairest
May was superb.

Farewell James Harmes
Sad to see him go but understand the desire to do so when his chances to play with us have dried up. Absolute gem of a person and team first player.

Harrison Petty
I may be forgiven for believing Tom M is a very good wordsmith: Harrison do you miss the farm? Sure do. (the lure is strong in this one) Clarry the rehab was messy wasnt it? Sure was I didnt handle it well and then i had to have a knee op very frustrating and my teammates were concerned ( Oliver frustrated at melbourne, his teammates are concerned).
