  1. Often find myself agreeing with Dazzle and I agree this a good pick up. Like Brown he will know he has to win a place in the team and i wouldn't be surprised if that doesn't happen for some time into the season when he has proved he knows our system and expectations. I am not worried that our coaching team wont make the right choices. What is really encouraging is if we go a man down we have it covered. Mid down, Dunstan/JJ in. Big back down, Tomlinson in. Big forward down, Weid in. Not bad choices to have. Its the first time as a supporter I remember us having real depth.
  2. Three peat is on: Minor premiers, Premiers and trade premiers.
  3. this will get very interesting

Ok so this is a segue into the burning question who is going to be our high performance manager? I want us to be the fittest and least injured team in the league.
  6. Congratulations Nev, sad to see you leave the Dees but you will always be welcome at the club. Sad we couldn't find a role for you.

Cheeseboard price drop at the shop!
  9. Who are our 28 + players? Do we need a few projects to fill their shoes? My top priority is to find a top class high performance manager, Burgess was our best recruit in recent years. We had a healthy and fit list.
  10. Good decision.

That would be tough for Goody to do. Both Melk and Hibbo really helped us out when we needed it. Just another of the hard luck stories when someone has to miss out.

A champion of the club but an even better human being, the club, the AFL and the community are much better for your contributions. I wish you the best and really hope the club has a role for you going forward. A very sad day to see you go.
  13. Good luck Vanders and thank you. I assume he will try and get home to NSW but as someone said above the Suns would be a good option.

Agree grey cap and black cap makes no sense. I will of course buy the cheeseboard, do they have a cheese knife in silver?

Where oh where are the Adult jumpers? (someone tell the store they will sell more of these than anything) Also love the bucket hats (gardening/beach) can they come back. IS there an auction yet?

  17. I had Ron Barrassi football boots and he was something, I loved Robbie Flower. Big Jim was amazing as well. The thing is we some new greats in the making and how fantastic is that!
  18. Lid is off! Congratulations to the team and all fellow supporters. Its been a long time coming. Stayed off until now to disgest the win but I have 34 pages to read....slowly just to relish it. Curse done superstitions gone (except in the 3rd I remembered I didnt have socks on in the geelong win so they came off and have now been binned, made all the difference apart from our mids, jacko and Fritta). I am just so thrilled for all our supporters especially those on demonland. Wow just wow.
  19. I think this week he cant add to any other suspense being felt.....
  20. i held him up with a wild and wrong guess.
  21. Seriously why would you tell the world and the umpires you are going to interfere with Gawn in the contest? Its not a good plan the last time I recall that happening this year the umps started awarding Max frees. Still it points to Jacko getting let off the chain and them being distracted by Max.
  22. I have been wondering the same thing, it would throw the Dogs If Jacko took the first bounce (wont happen) as their sharking plans will be off and the extra tall mid in the center may cause some mayhem. It would also mean their plan to be one extra and one wide at clearances is also disrupted. I'd certainly make the change for the second centre bounce. Whilst the dogs try to disrupt Lever big Max can drop back. I also think this whole idea (which the Cats also were on about) of having too many talls for our backs is misplaced. Everyone seems to forget Petty can take the number one forward we have 3 very good tall backs along with Rivers who is a good match for Hannan.
  23. Just a wonderful person, we are privileged to have him at our club.

Pardon me for not reading the whole thread and risking repetition. First Congratulations to Ollie Wines he had a terrific year and to the others over the 30 mark. Ok down to business, the brownlow doesn't celebrate the best in the game, just the best in the midfield. I get they tend to be ball accumulators and often are players who turn games but that is not the whole story of the game. For example why should Tmac get more votes than Lever or May? I am glad Tmac was recognised but backmen get no recognition beyond all Australian. It really needs to be addressed, at least forwards have the Coleman which is a pretty objective award, why isn't the coleman medal awarded on Brownlow night?
