  1. thanks I haven't had an email from the club, strange.
  2. Great initiative and like others here I am very proud of our community involvement in the heart of the country.
  3. Living in Sydney I have seen a lot of games at the SCG. It seems short end to end and wide (except for the forward pockets). My swans friends claim the 50 is actually 48. Whilst I doubt that it certainly feels short. Our defence is predicated on judging the flow of the ball into the defensive area. The SCG does not offer the luxury of any time if the ball is coming down the guts. And to my eye you often see goals that seem to be kicked after one handball from the centre bounce. Thus owning the corridor will be super important. Ps: does anyone know when tickets go on sale?
  4. I take it out every year, until now I have considered it a donation.
  5. Skipped the middle of the thread but I am concerned that Salem is not fit and may need a rest. Prefer him in the side but there is the long term outlook to consider. Melksham clearly goes for positivelingers. Weed stays a week. At the game you could see how hard to works off the ball to keep our structure and I doubt Brown could do that. Hard to know if he will make it but showing all the signs of being very close to getting the confidence he needs to start clunking the marks. On at least two occasions he appeared to deliberately knock the ball forward to the smalls one of which led to a Kozzie goal.
  6. Is flag with an o censored?
  7. Just home from the game and now watching the replay. We just wont give up. Really good crowd apart from the [censored] Bears supporter near us, who went missing in the second half, must have had a flight home. Could dish it but not take it. I just love this team and back next week! Sadly not at our fortress, Giant stadium. Go Dees.
  8. Hi Sydee, As a fellow Sydneysider i will be there with as many as I can muster! A country memebership gets you access to 5 home games or their replacements. I think this may be a home game so you should be ok, if not who cares there will be plenty of tickets! I can walk to the SCG but think this is a much better venue for us and will be happy to drive out there Friday night. I think sadly no one from Vic can attend unless you were here pre-lockdown, the local rule is whilst the border is open if you travel here you have to apply the restrictions of your home state (ie: lockdown) and I suspect the travel incident overnight will mean the rules will be tightened here.
  9. Agree on the Giants stadium which has 2 nice hotels walking distance to the ground in the Olympic precinct. There are actually no hotels that close to the SCG. I recall last year they stayed at manly which is a long way from both grounds.
  10. No need to apologise. I do feel for the Alice and think the GWS stadium would be better for us. We played well there last year. I am actually more concerned about the big freeze which is such a worthy cause and deserves a big crowd at the G.
  11. Is that confirmed? Agree its great to have games in places like the Alice however as someone who lives within a 15 minute walk of the SCG I will take the alternative.
  12. 6 Harmes 5 spargo 4 Oliver 3 lever/ may. They are one unit right? 2 brayshaw 1 Rivers seriously great team effort. Our role players won the game for us.
  13. TMac will not ruck. (famous last words) Goody is adamant about the role he is playing. Would Weid want to come in as a ruck? Has he continued to do that at training? If not and Majak has then based on the coaches approach this year Majak may come in.
  14. 6. Tmac 5. Oliver 4. May 3. Jordon 2. Harmes 1. Salem
  15. They will be required to isolate until they return a negative result. They were there in the same time period according to the reports. Hat has blown completely away.......
  16. A lot of Swans live in the Eastern suburbs of Sydney, so I suspect they all will be tested. Real risk if the area is declared a red zone.
  17. Yes sometimes you can be too successful, a fine and the media outrage would have been non existent.
  18. Good to see the AFL is at least in touch with 5.5% of fans.
  19. Lack of news suggests we are thinking about it seriously.
  20. I suspect that many here like me are making suggested changes based on our preconceptions of players . When Petty came in last time I was despairing of his first half calling his inclusion a mistake. i was wrong. His second half was a lot better and showed he was up to the task. Likewise I was completely befuddled when Baker was included but again his second half was much better and it was clear he was playing to our system and contributed. Goody at his presser clearly said Petty was ready for AFL and our coaches seem to know what they are doing. I would like to see one defensive mid included to fill for Viney. Melksham needs to be made more accountable for his howlers.
  21. Apologies if this is covered above (cant read all 14 pages.) Viney out late a big loss, our back line thrown out early and the forwards still adapting was a lot to deal with. However our coaching has improved out of sight on game day. You can argue it came late but we put a tag on Cunnington in the 3rd and Fritta was given a role on Ziebell, Goody swallowed his words and put Tmac back and we moved Gawn out of the main ruck. Each of these moves (along with a returned intensity) changed the course of the game. What also struck me was each of the players clearly knew their role which indicates our preparation has been very good. Our kicking is vastly improved. Brown will be better next week on the G and having spent some time with the forwards. Swans will be tough but we are a real team these days.
  22. I assume he bumped into trac at a 7/11. In any event seems pretty obvious the club would be putting a big offer on the table and working to sign him up for the long term.
