Melbourne Supporters Officially Most Passionate
P-man replied to Straight Sets Simon's topic in Melbourne Demons
I can’t help focusing on the fact we have the smallest number of supporters bar the two most recent expansion clubs, and they have a vast number of supporters in waiting, especially the Giants. A minnow like the Bulldogs has almost double the number of supporters. Decades of mediocrity really hurt us badly. We need to try and win over a new generation of football followers. -
lol I know right. I’m a bit ambivalent about Aly but even I want to punch him in the face in that photo,
-
At least Harmes made the bench. Caddy over Melksham is stupid but possibly done to stir up All Australian debate as selection draws nearer. Caddy is in the frame. Melk isn’t.
-
The Hun put out their fishing rod and got what they wanted. Social media outrage and clicks by the thousands was a guarantee.
-
Sure, but it certainly doesn’t help your case when you’re claiming the result was doctored by the AFL. If that were the case, chances are we wouldn’t win the free kick count.
-
I’m not sure what you’re saying here. Are you saying I’m wrong about the final free kick count? Both the AFL app and footywire says 18-14 to the Eagles.
-
I guess the umpire who gifted the free against Vanders for competing for the ball forgot which team he was meant to be rigging the game for... The final free kick count was 18-14 to the Eagles btw. Many bitter Eagles fans would agree with you OP. At least you’ve got that going for you.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB – JAKE MELKSHAM
P-man replied to Theo's topic in Melbourne Demons
I’ll continue to hang my hat on the early call to draft Hibbo, and tell anyone who will listen about it, but I made a proper meal of this one. I knew he had skills but the form line over a two year period just wasn’t there for me. In retrospect perhaps it was him being shuffled around position wise that was to his detriment. Along with the whole playing for a drug cheating shammozle thing. Predicting he’d be a good pick up is one thing but it would’ve taken a serious optimist to foresee the player he is right now. -
Favourite song they played during the telecast for me was Pearl Jam’s “Alive”.
-
I mean if you listen to him he’s paying them a back handed compliment. Too good a team to be satisfied with finals and thinks they can go all the way etc. Judd has actually been a big advocate for Melbourne this year. Called Hogan the best player in the league based on form at one stage of the season. i still think it’s a silly comment as the celebrations are totally justified and doesn’t mean the players are satisfied with anything, but his heart is in the right place ?

Dean Kent, Aaron Vandenberg and Mitch Hannan

Vanders first half should not be overlooked. His ferocity in the contest is unparalleled in this team, which is a big call given some of our contested beasts but it’s there for all to see. He tackles to hurt, legally, and shrugs tackles like he’s offended they are even trying. Not only that, he makes smart decisions in tight. His kicking will never be a strength but if he can bring that intensity every week then he can make himself a walk up start. -
Roos called Salem our Jarrad McVeigh. Spot on. Even moves like him.

I badly want to knock Geelong out. Badly.

Still buzzing. If we win next week we play Geelong in our first elim final. Wowee.
-
Brayshaw’s elevation this season has also been exceptional but Harmes has come from a lower base.
-
Most improved player this year. No question.

Tysons’s kicking under pressure makes baby Jesus cry

They legit just booed the goal umpire who called for a review after being knocked down in the contest. What a bunch of utter peanuts.
