Robbo asked King last night on AFL360 if he felt foolish over his comments after Melbourne's win. He of course didn't given an ounce of credit and didn't retract anything he said, but watching that question put to his face was truly a thing of beauty and reminded me why I love Robbo. Maclure was loving it as well.

I'll put my hand up to say I've potted him on here, but purely through frustration at him not performing anywhere near the level we have come to expect from Beamer. The reasons behind it can be speculated upon but he is someone we desperately need to be producing every week. Anyone with his ability and love for the club should remain here for the rest of his career and I hope the weekend was a turning point for him form-wise, and that he does just that.

I never said I didn't pay attention to him at Collingwood, Jose. I merely said I am liking him more without his Collingwood hat on and he is free to be alot more impartial. Most of his exposure he used to have was through the match pressers where his arrogance and dismissiveness became a constant theme. Still resorting to the insults I see. I guess me being less switched on foolishly thought you'd woken up to yourself in that department.

It was a big, big win in the context of the season. An invaluable confidence boost heading into the second half of the season. Defensively we were outstanding. It was the most rock solid performance in our back half I can recall for a while, which is slightly bizarre considering Frawley was out and Garland was up front. Bartram I'll leave others to comment on..(yes his disposal efficiency has been up etc etc) I suppose alot of it can be put down to the midfield relieving the pressure and actually winning a few clearances, but our structures held up and to a man we won pretty much every indvidual battle. We gave them zero time or space which if we can do against Collingwood, we are a real chance. I'm strongly leaning towards an "if it ain't broke don't fix it" approach this week. I admit I am interested to see how Davey responds in a team surrounded by those who are performing to the required standard and winning some contested ball.

A couple of them on FB have viewed it as simply as poor kicking at goal which determined the outcome. Not an ounce of credit to the opposition. The worst fans imo, second only to West Coast. A dangerous combination of arrogance and stupidity.
