  1. Out: Jetta, Mitchie, Garland In: Omac, ANB,/Kent, Dunn B: Wagner Dunn Omac HB: Bugg Tmac Vince C: Petracca Jones Hunt HF: Salem Watts Garlett F: Kent/ANB Hogan Harmes Foll: Gawn Viney Tyson I/c: Stretch Oliver Kennedy Pedo Would love Bugg to play down back to send Salem onto the wing hopefully sending accurate long kicks into our forward line and send Hunt on the wing to receive handballs from Jones, Viney and so on and really use his pace which I think we can lack sometimes when we do get the clearance instead of just always booting the ball into the forward line for a 50/50 contest. Would love a beautiful centre clearance and a beautiful kick into the chest of one of our forwards.
  2. Yes I guess that is true. powerful with the ball in his hands but doesn't do to much with out it. Doesn't seem to read to much into the player he'll be playing on considering watching the replay of Kent's goal he ran to the left side of his body instead of the right hip. Pretty simple stuff that can stop goals.
  3. Started playing the age of 6 for Sunshine heights then went to Albanvale football club at the age of 9 We won the Under 12's Grand Final (was the only girl so was rapt!) then played for Altona womens football club then Deer park womens team then started working with Werribee's vfl then moved over to Coburgs vfl team. Miss playing though
  4. Unsure if there is another thread on this but if so I will delete! Who do you want that we have a genuine chance at getting and what would you give up in this years trade Not even half way through the season but I am sure we can pick out needs in our team. I am interested to know what everyone thinks. Adam Tomlinson? Will Hoskin-Elliott? Dion Prestia? Adam Saad? David Swallow? Brandon Matera? Gary Rohan? Matt De Boer? Josh Jenkins ?? Andrew Gaff ? Nathan Hrovat? Jack Redpath? George Horlin-Smith? Matt Scharenberg? These players I have mentioned are players who may be out of contract, want to come home, want more opportunity but could fill our needs or that we actually need. I know there's plenty more gettable players out there so shoot away 20 20
  5. IF we win it won't be about Melbourne beating a top side team it'll be Melbourne beating an injury hit Bulldogs team. Always about how bad or injury struck a team is more so than us actually being good and winning on our terms.
  6. As much as we have a lot of inside grunt we do have to remember that Jones only has a few years left... I think Prestia and Viney would play very good with each other. If we are looking at Gold coast players I would rather go after Aaron Hall and Adam Saad. Hall is very quick and is more of an outsider. Saad would work wonders with Jayden Hunt running off half back. I use to work at Coburg when Saad was playing there and could not believe him and Hartley weren't on an AFL list. Saad at the time had bad decision making but you could see the potential. He creates run and carry but also creates play and gets it moving which for our fast pace attack is what we need.
  7. Out: Harmes(looked wrecked) Lumumba, Salem and Pedo also looked stuffed In: Oliver, Trengove, Garland and Mitchie(seems to be having strong performances at Casey)/ANB
  8. The "I want to be a part of this" comment is everything we want to hear! We are crying for a genuine second ruckmen that we can trust to take over Maxy IF he comes down with an Injury or IF form does drop off for a few weeks. Hopefully Spencer saying he wants to be apart of this strives him to be near Gawns level. Such good problems we're having at the moment! Love it!!
  9. In: Petracca and Oliver Out: Brayshaw and Frost With Frost it's a hard one. it all depends on the height of the Saints defenders? If they're a little smaller than maybe cause them a few headaches and if they're taller then obviously we need the height.. But, if they're small then it's a good opportunity for Petracca to come in and play
  10. It's a hard one with him. He has such a beautiful trusting kick coming off half back but would be great up forward too. He has confidence which is good for a player defending.
  11. It's exciting to think that we're such a young side but on Sunday watching the young ones they looked so relaxed. They didn't always rush and panic, yes sometimes they did but to think that they can take the time to think is a good sign at such young ages. I'm ashamed to say I was once exciting for things to come when we drafted players like Scully.... Wagner Tmac Salem Hunt Omac Bugg? VDB Brayshaw Tyson Kent Hogan Patracca Watts Weids Harmes Gawn Viney Oliver Frost ANB Trengove Melksham?/ Stretch
  12. I went down there around 10 until the end of training. I must say I had a little boy with me who his fav player is garlett as both aboriginal and after a couple of photos with him found out by Brayshaw that Garlett is his fav player got a trainer to bring him back his hat signed. very grateful. Also Christian Petracca had a conversation with my child (5) and called him mate then girl then man and as Tom Bugg and Ben Kennedy came for a chat he then realized and said, "I just realized I called him a girl ( mind you he looks nothing like a girl) and they proceeded to say he will be a ladies killer and he has hair like Harmsey. Moral of this story I love how much these guys put time and effort into talking to people and children. Hogan was great with him. Anyway back to training! I saw Trengove and Harry O at about 10.15 heading towards AAMI so they were down with that training part. I really love how Harmsey goes about his footy. Super fit and tackling machine. If he stuffs up he backs himself to keep trying. Does not give up on himself. Garlett, Tyson and Brayshaw just running and hand balling to each other nothing to much for them Spencer and watts were running laps all day Tom McDonald leading the way with running so was Harmsey. Viney looked to struggle at the back also last one off the track kicking for goals but unsure if he was abit sore or not today didn't look 100% Only time I saw Vince was when he was walking off. Unsure who it was, I am 95% sure it was Hunt but if so this kid looks good! Gets himself into good positions and doesn't mind taking on people. Jetta was tackling very well. JKH running was ok but seemed to drop off a lot as time goes on. Tries to take on to many people when there's better options and gets tackled. Hogan this kid I swear is a beast! No one can get past him. Moved well and only had eyes for the ball. As for Melksham he did alright but may be trying to impress a bit to much. Did a few things wrong that should have been easy but better now then during a game. Stretch moved well and got into space very quick and he likes to get the play moving. Weideman looked wrecked at the end but hey so would I! If I remember anything else I will post
  13. We are in need of better mids but we also needed more talls. Gawn is the only player who we can trust to ruck. We know how spencer is Dunn isn't too good and pedo is the same. We need genuine rucks
  14. Got two right for us so far! Now for Lovell
  15. Hopefully Trengove gets up just like Menzel did. Would love if we all saw that!
  16. I don't mind the look of Milera. Good pace on him. What does everyone else think?
  17. We could have one of the best mids in the Comp but if hogan (Hate to even think this) goes then who do we kick too? No one will be developed to take his role if need be
  18. a part of me thinks we will just be like we are every other year after all the excitement from the off season here's hoping though
  19. I don't mind taking parish but I do like the look of Francis And Oliver I would personally love Milera at the Dees. He is the type of play I like.
  20. 1. How did you start following the Demons? Uncle took my cousin (boy) to a game but I wanted to tag along (age 3) and I loved it and my cousin sat playing the game boy and I fell in love with it. 2. Who was your very first favourite player and why? Garry Lyon but unsure why 3. Best moment as a fan? Winning games. Brad miller and Steven Armstrong calling me after my under 12's grand final. 4. Worst moment as a fan? Losing the 2000 grand final. Only young but remember crying all the way home haha 5. Anything else you would like to share? Getting to know brad miller and Steven Armstrong personally after their first year at the club meant a lot to me as a child and even now at 22. After my 19 years of supporting Melbourne this is the first time being able to remember that I feel like we can actually build a premiership team in the next 4 years or so
  21. Anyone else see Nathan jones Instagram and the top he is wearing? Blue with red on it just like some had suggest
  22. Love the new logo. New era for the Dees and hopefully a better one. Very simple. We're the oldest club and Melbourne is our city and we're lucky enough to have the name. We should do everything in our power to brand our name and club around Melbourne and hopefully get more people on boared expecially people who are trying to pick a team and we're the first one they see. Very smart move and hopefully a step forward in more members
  23. C) Nathan jones V/C) Lynden Dunn Rest) Tom McDonald Jack Viney Bernie Vince Dom Tyson/nev Jetta
  24. Oh no don't get me wrong their skills are fantastic but limited as in there is not enough talent to make 18 teams like men. As years go on and more concentrate on footy the more skills will be natural to women. Not taking away skills from women as I'm a woman that has put a lot of time into footy since I was little and involved in coaching in the vfl
  25. From lots of experiences playing football and also heading out on Saturday nights over the years I've become very close with majority of the players from Both teams including girls from out of Melbourne and they have exactly the same if not more passion than the men. I really hope as a fellow lady that a women's league is started. I know myself that the skills and the amount of talent is limited and maybe I like it more than others because most are my friends but I really think this would create more jobs for women that want to coach and find it hard in a male industry and I think the girls have a right to play at the highest level. A game before the men's is acceptable I believe. Don't hate just sticking up for my friends and giving my opinion.
