  1. You said he does not tick all the box's and seemed to imply he wouldn't fit the game plan but he was one of our best defenders yesterday and ticked plenty of box's. That's my point.
  2. I think our backline under pressure is better with Nev in it. A few years ago I wouldn't have said that. I believe he is best 22. He is more consistent than Garlett and most would have him in their best 22.
  3. Would rather smith than Omac from glimpses I saw
  4. I actually wouldn't mind having Joel Smith in the side. I know he isn't experienced but I would love for him to rotate with who ever plays on Membrey. He can jump and I feel as though he has the defensive pressure to create him to turn it over. Unless Membrey marks it and has a set shot at goal, I don't feel he is so deadly in their forward line
  5. I'm not sold on Spencer playing but saints forwards just dominate us way to much especially when the ball is booted in.. Maybe when Spencer is rucking and if its a close game we can send Gawn down back to grab them high balls...
  6. Sorry if this has been done before. Now I know we have two training grounds but do you ever think we'll have a stadium devoted just for Melbourne? Like Richmond, Collingwood, Essendon and so on.. Entering their grounds and seeing their team colours everywhere and portraits and club history makes me wish for Melbourne to have the same. Too feel like people have entered our territory. If we decided It's time to build a red and blue training stadium where would you like it located? How do you picture it looking like?
  7. Not sold on Garlett being a lock round 1. If he is he won't be a lock for round two. Hogan needs to make them second efforts. If he doesn't mark it and the ball is still around him he just stands there and watches the ball.
  8. Pressure pressure and more pressure! Cause turnovers, make them rush! talk to each other, let the player with the ball know if they have time or not. when there's a contested play start thinking about the second play and not every player worry about the ball. Some need to be ready to either stop the opposition running away from a received handball or be ready to receive a handball . i love attacking football. They say defence wins games but I'm all for attacking. From the back line you just keep on going until you score
  9. As much as its been obvious Viney will one day captain our club I still feel as though Jones should do it solo until the end of his career.. or at least when he says I just want to play and not be captain then hand it over but I don't like both
  10. Sticking with my prediction I did at work 2 weeks ago at work. 1: Carlton 2: Brisbane 3: Adelaide 4: Fremantle 5: Bulldogs 6: Collingwood 7: Melbourne 8: GWS Carlton looking the goods! Never really saw Collingwood as a threat even with Mo Hope in it Not as good as shes hyped up to be and with 93% time on the ground and 4 possies it isn't going to get much better. Brisbane have a powerful Forward line but not sold on around the ground but if they can get it in there they'll score
  11. Was there last night as I'm friends with most of the girls and for someone who played and has been involved in women's football for a long time it was a real emotional time for all of us. That atmosphere was fantastic, was packed, people getting right into it. Yeah skills weren't great but I'm sure back when the men first started it wasn't either. Will take time, doubt crowds will be that big throughout the rest of the female season but what a special moment it was for them. Everyone needs to stop worrying about their skills right now and just be happy for them.
  12. I'd go C: Jones VC: Viney and the rest Gawn, Tmac, Lewis and Jetta
  13. Brad Miller and Steven Armstrong are my number one - met them when I was 8 and they were 18 hadn't played a game but just loved them (very handsome men). Did a lot for me, called me on my under12's grand final as Steven and Brad asked to come but they played the night before and had recovery. Asked me to dance at the b&f. Things like that mean so much to a kid and even now I'm still very grateful. Next up, David Neitz! When I was 3 I had my first picture with him and took one every year until I hit 18 then we had a alcohol Bev together at one of the b&f and he couldn't believe how time flew! loved Lyon! Had a fight with his eldest son who pushed in front of me at a Melbourne clinic. Said girls should even play footy so I punched him in the face haha (was the demon in me) Nathan Jones - loves the club like I do and is loyal. Not skilful but passionate and that's what I love. farmer! I haven't really had any other favs
  14. very ordinary.. as in looked like Melbourne of old. missing easy marks, as soon as there was some pressure they would kick the ball to someone not even 5 meters away from them, missing easy targets. Looked like players who were playing for the first time in their life
  15. Was working at the Essendon Football club today, let's just say they were very ordinary. Made work a lot better
  16. Dom Tyson to have a consistent year and be one of our most important midfielders. Hogan to put this year behind him and dominate throughout the whole season. Frost to be just as important than Tmac Garlett never fading from games and be a damaging forward pocket Dees to make finals-just Beat teams we should be beating
  17. Hopefully B: Jetta t-Mac Hibberd HB: Frost o-Mac Hunt C: Salem Tyson Stretch HF: Kent Hogan Trac F: Garlett Pedo Watts R: Gawn Jones Viney I: Lewis Oliver Brayshaw Vince
  18. With Hogan coming out saying he was a 50/50 chance to head home but the future was to bright at Melbourne is more of a powerful statement than landing a big fish this year. Hopefully with a better season next year for the club it opens the doors for a big fish to want to be part of it.
  19. If there was a potential ruck/forward who was highly rated around our first pick would you rather we take the risk and try to draft them or trade it for Hibberd?
  20. Want the doggies to win but think Sydney are just too good. As living in the west, worked at the dogs and have lots of mates support them it's the closest feeling I've had to being some what emotionally invested in a grand final game (was only 5 when I went to the 2000 GF) Makes me crave for our boys to have success and I can't even begin to imagine what I'd be like when that day comes.
  21. If the Hibberd trade gets done. B: Jetta Tmac Hibberd/Frost HB: Melksham Omac salem W: Hunt Tyson Stretch HF: Kent Hogan trac F: Watts Weideman Garlett FF: Gawn Jones Viney Int: Oliver Brayshaw Frost/Harmes Vince
  22. Really thought clem smith would be something special
