  1. You nailed it RPFC.
  2. If Malthouse and Lyon fall through I would be happy with giving Viney a shot. I liked his experimentation with kickouts (the worst moment of any game under Bailey) and his preparedness to give the players a shakeup. You can actually see him trying to do something during the match.
  3. Wasn't Lyon on the panel that selected Bailey?
  4. Simon Black moves like a snail and is a champion.
  5. Couldn't agree more.
  6. Guys, we're a bottom four team at the moment (as far as the way we're playing). There's no point taking Fev. Even if he is reformed and comes back at his brilliant best it isn't going to salvage the situation. Best not to take the risk and keep playing the kids.
  7. Dude, I'm no Scully fan and I thought his game was poor today. But even I wouldn't use Morton as any form of benchmark. Morton was disgraceful.
  8. Blease was terrific. Loved his run and carry. Bennell also seemed to have his mojo back. Jones was a soldier as always. The rest was bad and ugly. The fact halfway through the fourth quarter we looked like being run over by a group of kids might present a fourth category: the shocking. I think Jimmy's face in the box summed it up.
  9. Yeah, I disagree. My take - rightly or wrongly - is a teenager being offered millions and refusing to sign is destabilizing for the rest of the group. Geelong admitted after the fact that that was the case with Ablett and they're a tougher group than ours. I don't understand his reasons and I've gone from desperately wanting to keep him to not caring. I want players who want to be at the club and are paid according to their ability. Players like Trengove and Watts.
  10. Thanks champ. It's my view. It's not grounded in fact because I'm not in the inner sanctum of the club. Oh hang on, neither are you...
  11. A team that walks the walk. I have great respect for the swans.
  12. I don't really care if Scully stays or go. His selfishness has really hurt the team - I think all the public denials on its impact are BS. If he does stay the club better not be paying a king's ransom to keep him as that will only increase the damage he has done. I don't want Melbourne to pay a fortune for a spotty 19-year-old with a problem knee. He definitely shouldnt be wearing no. 31 either.

    Jonesy

Love Jonesy. He gives everything he has and I respect him for it.
  14. Let's do what we have to do. We need a tough, defensive-minded coach. There aren't many top coaches around and we're at a pivotal moment for the club. Go for broke Dees!
  15. Two bounces of the ball from two cups. Would love Lyon. He is brutal. Give me ugly footy and victory any time.
  16. Would love that. Bring Goddard with you Ross!
  17. We lost to Richmond.
  18. He was terrific today. It was like a captain's game. Like our club, I have no idea what to make of Sylvia. Great player and if he leaves I'm sure in a better culture he'll thrive. If he stays, maybe he needs some responsibilty? Our leadership group is clearly going to have a major overhaul.
  19. Yeah, just keep them playing together and it'll click and we'll win the premiership. I think someone needs to disabuse supporters of this notion. We are a mentally weak side. Richmond are no older but have the character to win close games. Playing lots of games won't change that. I honestly am stumped about what can be done to turn things around.
  20. I hate to say it but I could just feel we were going to be overrun. Nothing to do with ability; everything to do with character. There's no fight in the team. I really don't care about Blease or anyone else's silky skills. I liked Sylvia's shirtfront and Trengove getting into Martin. But let's be honest - Richmond have progressed and we haven't.
  21. I disagree. Lyon very unlucky not to have 2 cups. Give me defensive footy and a premiership over Rocket's free-flowing footy that ends at the preliminary final any time.
  22. I'd much rather spend a million a year on a premiership coach who will boost the whole group than a spotty 19-year-old who's holding the club to ransom. I would love Clarko - but I can't see him leaving the Hawks, alas.
  23. Love Balmey. Will never forget 1984.
  24. Go you legs! Beloved Norwood.
