I, for one, think Davey needed a rocket and the comments on Watts were simply a statement of the obvious. I reckon it would've shocked them a bit to read it in the newspaper and I think that's no bad thing. As to Neeld, the less he has to say in the media the better. Melbourne has to walk the walk. That is the only road to respect for us in the AFL now. No more smashings. No more excuses. If Neeld delivers that he'll win us all over.

He's terrific at breaking news and a relentless questioner. I never thought much of his analysis or writing. Great traditional reporter and I admire his skills. Got a planet-sized ego as I understand it!
-
Kudos to the journalists and supporters on this site who called Scully out from the start - they've been vindicated. Will rpfc and the others now fess up to how wrong they were and apologise to those they insulted?
-
There are many reasons I'm looking forward to the start of the season. A minor one is that after the first 20-goal flogging Sheedy will be under siege and the media will stop running with this drivel.
-
I found the articles tedious. When our team comes out next year playing hard, accountable football I'll be happy to shower praise on Neeld. I've read enough words from the MFC. Having said that, a bit of a public roasting of those guys is fine. Let's be honest, Morton aside all four are capable of being champions. I think that's all that was said. They were challenged to be the best they can be. But as I said, let's see Melbourne play a top team and really compete. That's when we'll know something is really afoot.
-
I'd say that's right. But not in Melbourne -- in Sydney. I barely see GWS mentioned here and Sheedy has zero carry. I know we're not allowed to say anything bad about players and injuries but I have strong hopes for Scully's knee.
-
As a recruiter that should read.
-
I live in Sydney. Sheedy's stupid comments may make headlines in Victoria, they get little play here. I'll be really interested to see how he goes coaching again. He was brilliant for a long period. But Essendon clearly made the right decision moving him on. I think the fact he employs his son adms avrecruiter suggests the whole operation is a gravy train to him.
-
Ha-ha, I remember best round 2 2010 in the last seconds. He should've kicked a point!
-
I'm looking forward to 2 years' time when his recruits want to get the hell out of there. I hate GWS and I live in Sydney.
-
Good draw. If we can put together consistent form we'll make the finals.
-
Scully and his family are totally discredited. The match is meaningless outside 4 points. Having said that, I will be going to the first GWS game with Sydney supporting mates and will be letting the spotty little creep know exactly what I think of him and his 30 pieces if silver. Melbourne is going a lot further than GWS - which is basically a group of feral pigs gorging themselves at the AFL trough.

The contrast with the gold coast is amazing. GWS is an abdolute circus.
-
He's just such a spud for being caught.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - MITCH CLARK
Ned replied to waynewussell's topic in Melbourne Demons
This is absolutely fantastic! Gold MFC. Pick 12 is useless in this draft, we had cash to burn and we needed a big strong bloke who can play. And Mitch Clark CAN play. Absolutely rapt with this - sticking it to Freo is the icing on the cake. Next stop will be sticking it to Sheedy and GWS. Their time will come. -
Yeah, good point.
-
Keep him and try to turn him around. Norf get enough charity, we don't need to donate a player as well.
-
I can't help but feel we're doing outstanding work for the Brisbane footy club and Mitch Clark. At 2 pm on Monday when we have zip from trade week we might consider whether it was the right course of action. Having said that, if it came off I'd be delighted. Looks like a rubbish draft and I'd toss in anything outside the comp pick (which we can use in next year's bumper draft) to get the deal done.
-
Fev and Clark in our forward line! Can't see either actually coming to the Dees, but wouldn't that combination cause some headaches for defenders.
-
Ricky was inspired until his injury last year. In comparison he was poor this year, like our team.
-
Col is a frontrunner. Talented player but needs to totally change the way he plays. It'll take a lot of commitment for him to do that. I'm hoping for the best but not expecting it.
-
Dunn was great in the second half of last year. Let's face it, you'd trade half of our team on their 2011 performances. I'd keep Dunn over Bate any time. Dunn can be an asset. I can't say the same about Bate.
-
That can be changed thought I think. Jobe Watson was exactly the same and has turned out to be a terrific kick. Would love to see Jordie master that and take his game to the next level. Really admire him no matter what.
-
I take it back. Always remembered him as a sturt player.
-
Craig played for Sturt, not Norwood.
