  1. Wall of text! I did laugh at the anti-Y_M comment though
  2. This seems a bit dubious too: PS. They've edited the article text, but the headline is 'Young gun Bailey to make his debut' :D
  3. Where'd you get that info from?
  4. Considering the siren has sounded, I hope it's not a shot on the run we're talking about edit: High Tower - I imagine RR realises, and just wanted to add his 2c on who he likes from that distance on the run.
  5. Indeed. I read he's a great role model in terms of training etc. Not sure about anything else, but - as you imply - does seem to give 100% when he's out there.
  6. Ongoing costs will be shared - I imagine the Casey VFL team will be using the facilities down there during the footy season, and others have commented on costs at Bubbledome.
  7. Probably Green. PS. Why did you make a new post to reply to your own post?
  8. I agree. It's not even worth mentioning the fact that he was unimpressive, IMHO. He's nowhere near selection atm, and has been impressive in other games so there's not a problematic trend. It's expected that he'll be inconsistent - he's still in year 12.
  9. I've met Robert Pascoe, but wasn't aware he was a Dees fan. I think he's American - he's certainly spent some time over there - but has a great interest in AFL and its impact on the state's history.
  10. Absolutely. Dunn may not have achieved the feats that the guys you mentioned did in ~4 years (and it's probable he never will), but there's no reason he shouldn't have the right approach after four years.
  11. Valenti deserves a run. Not sure Buckley's deserves one yet. Bode's the obvious out. Bartram's form has improved - I thought he was pretty good vs Richmond. Was hard to tell last week, considering I only watched the Fox coverage. Not sure Frawley's skills are good enough if his primary role is as a rebounding defender - seems to take it easy a little too often when under no pressure, and fails to nail kicks (but that could just be skill level, as opposed to a mental thing). Garland's too small for JB IMO - Warnock (or Martin) to get first crack.
  12. The affiliation is irrelevant. If you're talking about this season, we're affiliated with Sandringham (not that he could play for the Dees if in our VFL affiliate side). If you're talking about next season, if he's to return to AFL he'll go in the draft and anyone will be able to pick him up (regardless of their affiliation or lackthereof).
  13. 45hotgod, I think your mates might be onto something. I'm not sure it's that he can't kick it that far, but that he kicks it very low. A shot from near the 50 (a little inside?) versus Richmond is one that would have made it, but was too low - Richo marked it on the line. The decision to handball to Sylvia instead of have a shot when on the 'G, Southern Stand side, Ponsford goals, is another occassion that comes to mind. Haha, gold.
  14. Hopefully Bell gets up for this week. I wonder how he'd go with a week off, though. Might be just the thing..? Perhaps I'm just trying to find the bright side. I'm with you on this one, Nasher.
  15. Yeah, I imagine we will be doing a fair bit of stuff around the QB blockbuster - McNamee is keen to create some 'marquee' games. Other decent stuff from the above article: That's a massive amount of money for playing in Canberra. Considering our on-field state, it'd be better to sell off three now, rather than later...although that might be counter-productive in our push to consolidate and grow membership next year, on the back of what will be another poor year. McNamee on the break-even point and stadium deals:
  16. Regarding the midfield v forward debate: - MFC site
  17. I think it was a fair call - Brown won't pull a Bradley/Harvey.
  18. We will be if we win this week, like you want. Ah, that old chestnut - relevance zero (but the answer is lots). Haha: The only back-tracking I see is yours. I thought you said pick #1 was sewn up! Yep, you did.
  19. Hasn't the President said that an alliance is still a long way off, and mentioned a 50/50 figure? That's what's been reported on the forums.
  20. Valenti's got to be close to getting a run. I'm not sure Bode will be persisted with. You don't need a win to show positives. I've seen plenty of positives this season, and we've only had one win (and that was only two quarters of decent football). Sewn up? We're on the same number of wins as WCE [edit: if we win this week, as you're advocating], and with virtually the same percentage after Geelong's astounding winning margin last week.
  21. Where he plays now probably won't have much bearing on where he ends up. For now, I think he's a HFF/wing, given his frame.
  22. He might have been suggesting that his life isn't worthy of a book. No excuse for the others, though
