  1. You can get nominated in two seasons, so he could still be eligible next season, despite being nominated this year.
  2. PJ's form has been really good this season - particularly early. I'm not as optimistic as the OP though, as I still think he could struggle to find his role. If he was a cricketer, atm I'd describe him as a bits-and-pieces all-rounder with excellent fielding skills.
  3. Yes - team success is the most important consideration. If we felt that Green would be over the hill when our next tilt comes around, and we could improve our premiership chances by trading him (for a top pick), then it'd be the way to go. It may also be a win for Green, as he could go to a Club that felt they were closer to a premiership. NB: Don't get me wrong, I like Green, and think he's a good player with a few years left - precisely why he may have value as a trade.
  4. Adelaide's Biglands is retiring: http://www.afl.com.au/News/NEWSARTICLE/tab...px?newsId=65743
  5. During coverage of the Freo v St. Kilda game on radio (SEN?), some Perth commentators - including Freo directior Ben Allan - were discussing the presentation. - They were very unimpressed with the MFC's conduct, given the season hasn't finished. - Ben Allan sounded very angry about it all, and the other Perth commentator said it was 'disgusting'. - Apparently it was supposed to be an informal meeting, and Warnock was surprised to find the players etc in attendance. - The commentators laid the blame at the feet of Warnock's manager, who apparently manages someone connected to Melbourne (can't remember who, an official iirc - CC?), but had a shot at Warnock for agreeing to the meeting. Edit: Allan made an effort to be diplomatic, but refused to comment 'from a personal POV', and it was clear he was annoyed. From a Freo perspective, he said the Club was 'confident' of retaining Warnock.
  6. Think of it like the rookie program - you get first dibs on the kids when they come of age.
  7. I'll ask again ...or did you simply feel the need to rebut the view that the Sandy partnership has been a success for us?
  8. Stats don't ever tell the full story, let alone much of it. Newton's effort was good yesterday.
  9. Would we get a better kid at 8 or 10 than we have in Jones? Probably, but there's a risk, given that draftees are ~17 years old, and thus are a bit of a gamble. I'd definitely consider it though. NB: Including McDonald in your list is a little pointless, considering he won't be around for our next flag tilt (and probably won't be around for our next finals tilt, either), and Moloney's been pretty injury-prone so far. Although Valenti is going alright atm, I think the jury is still out - remember, he hasn't had the same opposition attention Jones has received this year.
  10. They were Shaggy and Mini-Shaggy for a short while there.
  11. I agree. However, a PP can only help, and losing an extra game in a poor season won't hurt.
  12. Certainly a quiet day from Bate but I thought he did a bit as the game went on. Martin's going to be a player. I agree - not sure this was his best. I agree - I thought it was easily his best game this year. I don't know, but I doubt it.
  13. Vintage Sylvia in the first couple of mins of the game yesterday out on the wing, Southern Stand side. Ball was in dispute, Sylvia had the opportunity to go hard for the ball, and he hesitated, allowing others to go in. Anyone else think that he's happy to 'go hard' if an opponent has the ball, but not so keen to push in if he's going to be the one under the pump? Sylvia also continues to get lost when up the ground, trying to position himself forward of ball carrier/pack.
  14. Of course it has. It's easy to manipulate the game by playing particular match-ups, or 'experimenting' with tactics (as Peter Sumich admitted West Coast were doing yesterday). Supporters may be, but radio commentators on SEN(?) post-game said the umpiring was poor today.
  15. No worries - I guess Tim's been otherwise occupied. Good luck with getting your account
  16. The only one who can create accts atm is Tim, so you'll need to email him directly. I believe it's [email protected] edit:
  17. No thanks. PS. Trading/drafting board
  18. How do you want an affiliation to work? Keep in mind that VFL Clubs exist to win VFL premierships.
  19. Started playing up late last night.
