  1. He recently signed on for 2009.
  2. How'd you find out? I've read the same in another thread, but no reason was given. Disappointing that he's injured, given he had a good game the other week.
  3. Of course we are. Club officials have said that they're planning for 3-5 years as a realistic timeframe for finals, 5-7 for flag tilt.
  4. Similar thing with St. Kilda (v Adel today) as the game went on...
  5. I wouldn't say Bell had a good game, but he was far from our worst. I thought he started off okay, and he looked a bit better offensively, particularly early. Kept Ebert fairly quiet, too? Pretty tough on Martin too, IMO.
  6. Think any of these have progressed? - Garland - Martin - Chris Johnson - Buckley - Warnock - Paul Johnson - Miller - Jamar - Wheatley - Green - Moloney
  7. Regardless of how TJ and Grimes perform, I thought - and still think - it was the right decision for us. I would have been comfortable with TJ performing well at Brisbane - it wouldn't have made the decision any worse, given that TJ won't be around when our next flag tilt comes around. :D
  8. Hehe. He should have forgiven you - it's not often you can talk to Garland
  9. Why would we want a 'filler'? If that's the rationale, no way.
  10. Given the likelihood that he'll want to study part-time rather than full-time, his VCE score probably won't have a huge bearing. If he wanted to get into full-time study straight after year 12, things would be different, but even in the worst case scenario you've mentioned, he'd still be contracted for n years. There are various alternative pathways for those who don't get a stellar VCE score (ie. taking a couple of units as a single enrolment study, which can be used as part of the degree entered after they're completed), and the downsides are less likely to worry a footballer who won't have the opportunity to move straight into full-time study anyway. Assuming he wants to go to university/study at a tertiary level, ofc Outside of tertiary entry, a 'good' VCE score probably won't have much bearing on his life at all.
  11. No thanks.
  12. Wasn't White B.O.G in his last game for Sandy, on the back of consistent decent performances at that level?
  13. Apparently we have 250,000 supporters, which makes it closer to 1/10. Indeed.
  14. The Age mentioned that Fox would have got more as MFC CEO than he's signed up for at Geelong over the next few years (albeit it was suggested that if Fox stays at Geelong, he'll get their CEO gig at the end of his current contract).
  15. The team's stronger with Garland, yes, but... PJ was injured, so it wasn't a White instead of PJ choice. The choice was White instead of Meesen (or Martin?), not White instead of PJ. White's clearly in better form than Meesen, wouldn't you agree? Not a great argument for rebutting my assertion
  16. Worth promotion on the back of one game? He didn't have a stand-out performance last week, and don't think he got much of it in his first week with Sandy 1s. There'll probably be someone more deserving of the run (ie. Petterd).
  17. Fwiw, Stynes said virtually much the same thing on SEN after PM was sacked. I haven't heard the 'other comments' that you're referring to.
  18. Hopefully it didn't cost us anything - " Last night, the Club’s naming rights partner Primus, gave the Club use of one of the Primus call centres for a Debt Demolition Telethon." http://www.melbournefc.com.au/tabid/7415/D...px?newsid=66050
  19. Haha, cheers Perhaps with the exception of Yze for Maric, the like-for-like changes can all be justified as making our team stronger. He was playing well at Sandy before he came back into the team, and has done alright for us since being promoted. I would have been happy to see him play. That said, I'd select Martin, Warnock, and Garland before him this week. If McLean, Moloney, and Davey were all fit then I probably wouldn't have Valenti in the side atm. Given that it looks like he'll be playing AFL footy for at least a few more years, it probably won't have much impact at all, actually.
  20. All this talk about him needing 'a taste of it' to fire him up for the pre-season etc is ridiculous IMO. A couple of weeks back I advocated Grimes' promotion if his form merited it, but given his performance at Sandy 1s I don't think it does, and thus he shouldn't be played.
  21. Yes, that has been discussed previously. Urgh :<
  22. Great. That's fine - I wasn't trying to

Haha, yeah I know. Think someone posted it up on here though (that's how I heard about it ).
