  1. Article says he was 16 and that was last year, so he's presumably 17 now. What's the cut-off these days? Considering he was in the AIS intake and I haven't heard his name, perhaps he is too young.
  2. Haha. Someone should let Malthouse know, so he can wheel it out at the next press conference following a Victorian loss.
  3. 'Wrongly informed of incorrect information'? Edit - obligitary paper wars jab: You must buy the Herald Sun!
  4. Interesting point. It wouldn't be great if our VFL side was constantly getting beaten, but you might be onto something.
  5. I don't think they're an 80-point better side, but they are certainly a much better side than us - the ladder shows that. The blow-out was disappointing, but Essendon suffered the same fate (albeit at the hands of St. Kilda). Regarding White, I think we were less competitive when he came back into the side.
  6. I'm not 'having a crack'. I do think that Roy Morgan's survey population is more representative than your 'sample'*, though. *the people you chat to about the Dees
  7. Roy Morgan Research asserts that Melbourne have the smallest number of supporters. However, a high percentage of our supporters are members (relative to other AFL Clubs). I've also been told by those involved in MFC Membership that we have a high member retention rate. MFC Membership will be sending out renewal forms soon. MCC members have had the option to sign up for a MFC/MCC membership already, though.
  8. ...probably the reason it's his second option.
  9. Playing devil's advocate a bit here, but his value will be lower - read 'zero' - if he fails to regain fitness next year. That said, I can't see a trade happening.
  10. Maybe he's not really worth x to us because of his injuries. It's a double-edged sword, as bb has said.
  11. He's not happy to come to us, according to a report in today's The Australian: "Warnock's preference is not to join Melbourne, where a deal could have been clinched more easily as the Demons enter trade week next month with selections one and 17." If a trade isn't reached, Warnock may nominate for the national draft, rather than the PSD: "It is understood Warnock has threatened to nominate for the national draft, which would leave the Dockers out in the cold without any compensation." http://www.theaustralian.news.com.au/story...5012432,00.html
  12. I disagree - how many teams have won a flag when relying on players 23 and under as their core? You could be right with Green, but you're probably not playing the percentages.
  13. I agree.
  14. Exactly what I thought.
  15. Wheatleeeeeeeeey. McLean might go close one day.
  16. It'd help to add the email address I believe it's [email protected]
  17. I believe renewals are being sent out in a couple of weeks. Exactly. They believed the Club was x in debt, when in fact it is y in debt. I think the football Club's finances are probably a little more complicated than you make them out to be, bb. Caroline Wilson's article from a couple of weeks back indicated we were further in debt than had been suggested by the Club - an assertion that was rubbished by a few on here.
  18. This is nothing compared to the 2 years (and change) thread revive the other day
  19. Doubt it? You just agreed with me. Makes sense. It'd be interesting to know what the conditions/criteria are for activating the third year of the deal.
  20. Is it just me, or does the dark colour look pretty close to black?
  21. Google failed me with a decent 'thread revive' macro, so this will have to do:
  22. Indeed. I've always advocated him getting a run on the wing, and it's been good to see him play up the ground a bit more this year.
  23. Exactly.
  24. Not if they feel they are close to a flag and need to 'top up' to secure a premiership.
