  1. Hawks apparently 23,000+ Demons 15,123 Doggies 11,264 Saints 10,563
  2. Damien Yze- Is also currently a very handy shield grade all rounder for East Box Hill Ezra Poyas- Delisted after 1 year at the demons and continued to play on with Sandringham including in all 3 flags. Now plays at St Kilda City Football Club.
  3. Ruckmen dont reach their peak until 26/27, we've invested all this time into him and now we should reap the rewards
  4. indeed, golf claps and champagne all round!
  5. I booked my seat, it is pretty pricey but i figured we get to see the players at various functions through the year - but how often do you get to unwind and have a few beers with them. Should be great. When i booked it i quizzed the booking agent, a hugely passionate demons man, about all the details: All players will be attending, whether they are playing or not as it is primarily a team bonding experience. Should be 40 players plus everyone else connected to the club, coaching staff, physios, doctors, etc.. Prior to the Brisbane game they had 59/60 seats for the Supporters tour held, but some have not confirmed or paid deposits yet, of these 59 people a portion of it seems to be player family. The demographic is split 50/50 between people over 35 and people under 35 and is also split 50/50 between people traveling alone and couples. And there are apparently only 4 single girls haha, shotgun. They ran a marketing campaign for it up in Brissy on the weekend to try and sell some more seats and, i assume, depending on the success of that campaign the travel agent was intending to book another 30 seats for the supporters tour to increase it up to 90 people. If that sells out then expect the numbers to be roughly 90 supporters, 40 players, 40 staff members and some corporate friends (~200). In response to the opening post - I know that they intend on having a pub night on the first night to break the ice, but i think that was prior to your arrival - i'm heading over there keen to have a good time though so once we get the itinerary we'll have to work out something
  6. They floated on SEN that the early favorite is West Sydney Stallions
  7. From Chris Connolly on Saturday; Trengove had still not recovered from his injury before the Brisbane game and is still only a 50/50 for this weekends game vs Richmond.
  8. 9. He is a natural leader and a man whom all the kids look up to and most importantly he sets a tone at all the team training sessions. Riewoldt gave an example that when he arrived at the saints he would train until he was absolutely exhausted and thought he was training hard; but then he would watch Robert Harvey train and realise just what is required for AFL level. While Miller may not have the impact on field that we would all love to see, his contributions to the football club as a whole shouldnt be underestimated. Individual aspects of his game have improved over the last 3 years, he is a better mark, better kick for goal and makes better decisions - he just hasnt got them all those aspects gelling together yet.
  10. I signed up in October and still waiting on mine too. But, not to worry, gave them a call and found that they've still been working on the reserved seating map and that they're only just getting around to sending out some of the reserved seating memberships this/next week. So still another week or 2 away from turning up in our letterboxes, but.. soon!
  11. Developing a real man crush on Wattsy.
  12. Jack Grimes to take on Sylvia around the ground. Cale Morton to match Watts for athleticism and height. Jared Rivers to take the most experienced Bate. Spud Frawley probably the best pace for height option for Jurrah. Warnock on The Big Stef. Jamie Bennell to match up on Aussie and try and expose him defensively. Might leak a few goals, but equally damaging going the other way.
  13. yeah, same but very kind offer indeed
  14. Blease, while up and jogging, i believe is still on a modified training regime until Christmas
  15. He will be great. What a magnificent photo.
  16. Yeah it was in the media; Bailey gave us an update on Watts' body size about 4 weeks ago. Bailey says Dees are ready to rise
  17. Watts has already gone from his very slight 83kg to 89kg at the moment and should be on track to take the field next season at a much healthier 93kg - While he's been going under the radar with his schooling he certainly hasnt been slacking off. I cant wait to have him out on the field, hopefully for at least 18 games
  18. While we were never blessed with a multitude of superstars, our competitiveness in my opinion came from a real desire from the players to play for their coach. Rarely did we have players who played below their par, in fact most weeks players went out and played out of their skins giving 110% and committing to the "All or nothing" attacking brand of footy. Worked great every now and again, but we lacked the cattle to pull it off on a consistent basis.
  19. Regularly hear the players praising the mentoring of Scotty West, so very happy we have secured his services
  20. So make him look like a cheating velvet sledge hammer whose only trick is to dive for free kicks and snipe players behind play? gosh i hope not.
  21. B: Bruce Frawley Cheney HB: Morton Rivers Grimes C: Green Moloney Bennell HF: Silvia Bate Trengove F: Jurrah Watts Wonaeamirri R: Jamar Davey McDonald I: Meesen Scully Warnock Jones E: Martin Miller Petterd Garland If Butcher comes in i'd most likey drop Jones and rotate Wona, Watts and Jurrah up the middle I was really conscious of a lack of pace, especially in defense, but it's awesomely difficult to pick a team Round 1 needs to hurry up!
  22. I would take him as well; Robbo and Roughead once were both ordinary kicks on goal, Roughie couldnt kick to save him self at the start of his career. Even Riewoldt kicked a lot better this year than previously; Goal kicking is a technique that given a few years players have every opportunity to improve significantly on. Butcher might butcher it at the moment, but give him 3 or 4 years and he might be at least a reasonable shot on goal.
  23. http://www.afl.com.au/Video/tabid/76/video...px#VideoPlayerB Haha, Junior Mac is a legend!
