Delistings/trades at end of the season
Brayshaw Self replied to Northern Summer's topic in Melbourne Demons
We need to keep Fitzy and Spencer, particularly with Jamar likely finishing up. Mature tall depth is invaluable over 23 rounds (and hopefully a couple more weeks) -
WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - BEN KENNEDY

Hrovat would be a much better option -
I never said we shouldn't recruit him but he shouldn't be a high priority.
-
Old, injury-prone and limited.
-
Very good player but he's as vanilla as they come. We need some speed/class/skill.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - BEN KENNEDY

Kennedy is bog ordinary -
You want to end a 20 year contract because a rookie was named on an extended interchange?
-
How many players in the league can play on talls, small forwards and resting mids??
-
You know he's number 20, right? The backline player. The really good one.

It's never as good as it seems and it's never as bad as it seems. WBD are like Port Adelaide. They had a group of excellent kids there (and some good leaders). Early draft picks who hadn't exploded yet. A change in game plan saw people like Stringer, Dickson, Crameri, Johannisen, etc. all become lethal. We looked decent under Bailey at the end with a free-flowing game style but when Neeld came in, we looked soft and weak because we changed to a style that didn't suit the cattle. We have a spread of genuinely talented players (not speculative gambles) that will almost certainly develop in to very good players. It will happen quickly if all goes to plan.

WTF did Michie do wrong?
-
I agree. I think Lynch and Tomlinson are very similar players but they are also very versatile and would both be able to play in our team. Tomlinson has struggled a little bit with injuries which may lower his trade value. Our team is crying out for running, marking players.

According to The Footy Show: Brisbane Lions ruckman Stefan Martin is considering formally telling the Lions of his intentions to return to Victoria for personal reasons.

Tom Lynch has a huge tank, a massive work-rate, he accumulates marks and possessions, he is a damn good kick for a tall, leads the AFL in score assists and is a scoreboard threat (hence 10 in a game). He would be a big upgrade on Dawes. He is the prototypical running tall forward. We would be stupid not to go after him. He and Hogan would be an awesome combination.

Did Marley breach his parole order?
-
Agreed. Next week against Goldstein will highlight his lack of fitness. He was struggling to stand up straight at the end of the third quarter.
-
More importantly, he is a leader. Vice Captain. That makes him more valuable than Parish.
-
Prestia is their best clearance player and he can play admirably on a wing, off half-back and at times as a forward. He is the complete package. I wouldn't take pick 4 by itself if I was GC.
-
They wouldn't take Howe by himself for Prestia. Prestia is worth a top 5 pick.
-
Collingwood are trying to expose us by dropping Jesse White. It will be interesting to see how our tall backline goes. McDonald forward, Dunn on resting ruck and Garland on small forward/mid doesn't sound too bad to me. I don't mind how we match up on paper.

I'd rather be 15 and happy than 75 and sour. No offence.
-
I'd rather watch a CONTEST than watch pairs of fat bastards around the ground attack and pretend to defend. The golden-age syndrome groupthink on here sickens me.

I love 2015 footy. It's great.
