  1. so Tommy Mac wining every time trial for about 3 years is just ignored by the footy club is it 'by a fair way' is just a silly thing to say
  2. I don't know why the MCC members, the ones who fork out the most every year to see the Dees play, are considered to be the least knowledgeable supporters There's an obvious level of commitment/dedication there, simply by virtue of the cash you have to fork out
  3. that would be stupid... or a very nice loophole for the betmaker sorry I misread 'draws count as half a win'... 'deadheat rule' is what dubdee is referring to, that sounds right so if you take this bet you are really backing them for 8 wins (or 7 and a draw).. don't know if that's all that great for a pretty mild return of 1.66
  4. does that mean if they get 7 on the nose you get half, ie $1.33 ?
  5. Does anyone know where to find the odds/place a bet on how many wins we will have for the season? All I can find is an over/under type deal which is generally 7 wins.. I'd prefer to go for 10 wins at longer odds. I'd like to do it this week in case we come out looking awesome on Saturday and the odds shorten. Any help appreciated.
  6. oh cool thanks, so is that what they call him around the club and is that what we should yell out at the ground?
  7. hey where does 'clarry' come from? Is it a redhead thing ie claret or what
  8. I was looking at some odds today and generally speaking we are expected to go about the same as last year. I even saw ladbrokes, where you can bet on any game for the season right now, and we were favourites for a whopping TWO games. We are heavy underdogs for round 1 despite beating the same mob at the same ground the last time we took the field. Now, it certainly doesn't seem to me like we could stagnate/go backwards this year but it i definitely a concern that it seems to be the prevailing attitude outside the club. I am very sick of waiting.
  9. interesting that they have Whitfield (51 games), but have traded out picks 2 and 3 from that draft, not getting much in return for them either.. O'Rourke and PLowman only played 29 games between them in 3 seasons at GWS. Then we took Toumpas at 4, what an absolutely stinking top 4 of that draft I wish they had bid on him, we would have got him instead of Toumpas at 4 and therefore used our mid-20s pick on some other kid.. in other words, the steal we got with Viney was immediately nullified by picking Toumpas. Sigh.
  10. two if you count Hogan along with Brayshaw Viney didn't mess around either
  11. happens all the time land of the disappearing post
  12. I don't blame anybody for disrespecting us. We have been a disgrace for 9 years. No doubt we have improved plenty in the last 2 years but there is still a very long way to go before we have earned anybody's respect.
  13. that's the BS part. 'Family reasons' is another example of this. Nobody is honest about it because it seems tasteless to openly state you are selling out. It's money, always money, and it trumps everything. Which is why the notion of anybody leaving us is never 'ridiculous'
  14. Ablett Jnr left, probably the most beloved 'favourite son' in the city (not just the footy club) of Geelong... that is how low we have steeped as a competition, with players just putting their selfish motives first... so I wouldn't rule it out
  15. ok then from now on i will keep an eye out on your posts and be sure to inform you politely that the topic you are discussing is, IMO, banal. I hope you don't find that annoying
  16. how about you just not go around telling other people what they can/cannot talk about unless it's in an acceptable timeframe determined by you
  17. of course not, why would one go to a football discussion website to discuss Jesse Hogan, how silly of us
  18. yes if t was 5 years i might still discuss it, would you still whinge about it being discussed? unless you believe in santa, the precedent is set, regardless of how much 'faith in the character' you have for a bloke you've never met
