  1. He's very unlikley now to top Brayshaw's first year, who played 21 games and was only good enough for fifth (side note: can you believe 18 players on our list have played less games than 20 year old Brayshaw?!)
  2. part of this topic is discussing to what extent we should be asked to tolerate 'accidents' that result in injuries
  3. I agree. Tyson's output last year was a tiny fraction of what he is capable of, and we are being told this is because of his body issues. This guy is another super high draft pick we have been led to believe will become a star for this club. If he was to unnecessarily fall victim to an 'interruption' worthy of a golden ticket, the way Petracca has done, I would be furious with him also. Good point Moonshadow.
  4. mr petty argument 1 is blatantly untrue. For every Scully there is a Sylvia 2 who said it did 3 so what, thats if you wash out, thats obviusly not plan A is it 4 that one aspect of it does i think i can guess what sort of 18 year old you were so you probably can't relate
  5. doesn't mind a beer. it'd be a bit rough eh welcome to the AFL - I hope you're not into getting drunk with your mates cos that's over for the next 10-15 years
  6. again, not being contrary for fun, but that's just another assumption that we are all hoping is the case. I don't really know about this idea that we drafted in the past without looking for 'competitors' because to a large extent if you are a standout kid at the pointy end off the draft you are a competitor by default, or you wouldn't be there. The big thing I reckon it hinges on is the quality of our development system now vs before.
  7. Again, I tend to agree with you, but then I realise that's pretty much the exact same tune we have all been singing for the last decade. Without being a negative nelly for the sake of it, I guess what I'm saying in this thread is that I'm far from convinced that we have turned a corner, and that this isn't as TGR would say, 'fool's gold'. I really need to see a bunch of tangible results this year.. even then, you have to think back to 2010/2011 when we genuinely looked good but it never came to bear. Hmm.
  8. This is the way it works in every single other aspect of life. At the base of it is individual selfishness and greed. Why should footy be any different?
  9. we should have given cross another year, if this mess allows him to have that at Essendon I won't begrudge him one bit for it
  10. agree with everything you say, but the bolded bit is the worry I have, the worry I have voiced from day ONE. Roos is leaving. How much of our club improvement is going with him?
  11. I tend to go back and forth on a near daily basis. I get excited, then I remember the last 10 games of last year.. then I remember that every season without fail we have key players go down with injury.. then I remember that every off-season we fail to bring a true marquee player... then something like this Melksham incident happens which makes me wonder if we are still in amateur hour at this club.
  12. oh we'll lose it of course we will everyone will be expecting us to choke and we'll deliver on that promise as always
  13. because this is not communist china and you don't just edit your history books to exclude the bits that aren't that pretty
  14. so when someone takes an unprovoked swipe at you, you just cop it eh
  15. exactly. There was 16 clubs to trade with that didn't have a cheating cloud hanging over them. Guess who was on the short list of muppets to talk with Essendon
  16. anyone with this view doesn't deserve the time of day for starters, it's already been stated many times that Roos was quoted as saying they expect a few weeks at worst not to mention it is just plain stupid to think they would knowingly take a player they expected to miss a year so it's a pretty open and shut case
  17. well you're bagging him for making a totally fair comment, I assumed there must have been a reason Jamar, Miller, Garland etc etc legends the lot of them, and between them more losses than you can poke a stick at
