  1. He did also play on from that free and miss a goal from 5 metres out.. and he dropped an uncontested chestmark inside 50 late in the game just sayin
  2. Well at least Hogan broke this one today
  3. Vengeance for Watts!!!
  4. To state the obvious, the bag is most likely to come on a day when we get right on top of somebody and smash them, I'm thinking R11 vs the Saints or R16 vs the Lions
  5. come on mate that is clearly not what he said
  6. If Jesse plays every game at 2.6 per game he will hit that 50, which would be a magic feat for a first year player in a below average side He'll need us to slaughter a couple of sides so he can get a couple of bags
  7. as I said a few weeks ago, (insert absurd hypothetical) if every list was suddenly cleared and all players went up in a mega-draft, our lad would be a chance to go #1 - hard to argue he'd slip past #5 anyway
  8. When he kicked his 3rd and the lead was out to 33 with 1.5 qtrs left.. i was rubbing my hands thinking here we go.. but alas, not to be.. but that bag of 6 is only a matter of weeks away, no doubt about it
  9. Not to mention the QUALITY of those entries and the fact that Hogan only has Dawes as a senior big man helping him out/taking away defenders. Imagine Hogan playing 3rd fiddle to Buddy and Tippet! Makes him seem outrageously good when you factor all this in. Sorry, lid on.
  10. That's more like it
  11. Yes but Boyd's contract goes until 2021, a 10-year contract for Hogan would mean it lasts until 2027 which is a huge difference in terms of the amount of forseeable change to the landscape. Just sayin.
  12. Don't think anyone would - but the reality is of course that he would never accept such a deal. So much can change in the course of a decade, who knows what shape our club will be in ten years from now, we certainly don't have the runs on the board to project any type of stability, let alone chance of on-field success. Additionally, it may well be the case that 5 years from now, the elite players of the comp will be commanding far more than $1M per year, in which case he will be short-changing himself considerably.
  13. I'm with you MD The last time everybody was going so crazy about a player it was Liam Jurrah
  14. to be fair I think he was just using a liberal amount of hyperbole in order to express his man-love for the hulk
  15. well no, that's more than 2 years also.. as posted
  16. why did you ignore my additions nobody kicking a bag of 6 for 157 games straight is as big as any of them says everything really
  17. I said in all seriousness a while back that he is the no.1 most valuable asset in the comp We will have to endure a hellofalot more 'noise' from many clubs until he is signed again then again for his 3rd contract he's too good
  18. James Frawley
  19. I agree that he is the most valuable asset in the comp. If every team just reset their lists and there was some sort of ultradraft, he would go at #1. It's hard to believe he's ours. I hate jumping the gun with grandiose statements but how can you argue with what we have seen on the field? Imagine him in about 8 years time when he is in his prime FMD
  20. can't remember, I don't think he was all that popular even after this game
  21. got another one for you: last time someone kicked a bag of 5 or more rd 20, 2012 (sam blease, 5 goals vs st kilda at the MCG) 50 game streak edit last time someone kicked a bag of 6 or more rd 22, 2007 (russell robertson, 6 goals vs carlton at the MCG) 157 game streak
  22. making a recruiting decision that favours immediate results before a greater longterm output is as stupid and unrealistic as SWYL's 'best buddies' approach
  23. SWYL's recruiting masterclass - always establish whether prospect has 'mates' at the club - pay close attention to articles talking about where prospect would 'love' to go - enquire to prospect's accomodation - prospect's star sign
