Round 16 Casey Teams Sam Blease has finally impressed enough to grab a game in the Casey Seniors. Here's hoping he can run out a good 70% of the game!
-
With no explanation: B : Bartram, Frawley, Bruce HB : Rivers, Garland, Grimes C : Trengove, Moloney, McDonald© HF : Davey, Watts, Sylvia FF : Green, Jurrah, Bennell FOL: Jamar, Jones, Scully INT: Morton, McKenzie, Dunn, Petterd EMG: Johnson, Bail, Warnock

No, white and black would be better. That way, GWS can wear their home jersey, and Collingwood can also wear their home jersey, and there'll be no clash!
-
Tell you what, it was good to see the Brisbane fans actively hating some of our players! Garland and Dunn were most hated in the section I was in, but geez they hated the umpires more. The boos at 3/4 time were something to behold.
-
Bit harsh on Port, having to have had their veterans on the list for 13 years! (and I'm sure I could have phrased that slightly better....)
-
I found this strange as well. I was also mystified at 3/4 time when I looked over at the groups, and Jones seemed to be in the forwards group. I'm sure there was a plan there, but I'll be jiggered if I know what it was.

6. Sylvia - got on him for 1st goal scorer - nice odds too! 5. McKenzie - GUN. When he adds more muscle, he will be downright scary. 4. Garland - great suffocating game. Copped a headlock from Fev early, and drew the ire of the Lions fans. 3. Jamar - Must be AA if they pick 2 ruckmen. 2. Dunn - finally allowed to play in his natural position. 1. Frawley - Kept Brown very quiet, also provided some good rebound. Apologies to Scully, Watts, Bartram, MacDonald and Bail. EDIT: Forgot Joel MacDonald.

Honestly, it will depend on how Junior pulls up come the end of the season. They say that a week is a long time in footy, and there's still 5 home and away rounds left in the season. When the time comes, I, for one, have full confidence that Junior will make the right decision for both himself and the club. Edit: proofreading

^^This. Also, it's great to see that the club have taken some unconventional steps re: player payments. Looks bad in the short term (i.e. a team just finishing 16th using 100% of TPP), but should turn out to be a masterstroke in the long term.

Not yet. I reckon Warnock's only an emergency in case Vossy chooses to stick with Fev.
-
Surely all 3 would travel, so we don't get a North Melbourne situation, with an emergency forced to fly up during the game! But seriously, I wouldn't be surprised to see some more Dean Bailey Last Minute Changes™.
-
I dunno, he's listed as 192cm.......
-
Same for Cornelius for the Lions. Also, 4 changes for them this week. Black back in.

Melbourne B: Colin Garland, Jared Rivers, Clint Bartram HB: Cameron Bruce, James Frawley, Joel Macdonald C: Rohan Bail, James McDonald, Brad Green HF: Lynden Dunn, Jack Watts, Tom Scully F: Jamie Bennell, Paul Johnson, Austin Wonaeamirri Foll: Mark Jamar, Colin Sylvia, Aaron Davey I/C: Jordie McKenzie, Cale Morton, Liam Jurrah, Nathan Jones Emg: Addam Maric, Matthew Warnock, Jack Trengove In: James McDonald Out: Addam Maric

And this is why I wouldn't bring in Moloney or Junior. Make sure that they are fully healed, and play a few games on a decent surface!
-
Jeez I hope not. Last time that happened we got absolutely smashed due to lack of intensity in the midfield.
-
My thoughts exactly. I couldn't care less if JMac III NEVER gets noticed by opposition supporters, just means they'll be completely befuddled when their star midfielders are felled by our tackling machine, who then sets up a miracle goal!
-
Agreed. 12 tackles, 7 clearances - machine. 6. Sylvia 5. Frawley 4. McKenzie 3. Bartram 2. Green 1. Bruce
-
I reckon that this is the ticket.
-
More importantly, it actually has some focus on the weekend's footy!
-
Nathan Jones to play on Goodes in the midfield, and also kick two goals.
-
Would love for Jordie to get a nom, to recognise his massive impact on our midfield this year, however, I doubt that it will happen. I really think that the AFL are looking for young players who fill up the highlights reels with goals, I50's etc. Let's face it, getting the ball out from under a pack and laying tackles isn't terribly glamorous (despite its importance). Jordie just does his job consistently well every week. I'm sure that the coaches will be highlighting his efforts on the weekend, regardless of the lack of nomination.
-
More importantly, how can Eric McKenzie not even get suspended for 1 week for his rubbish? The MRP are quickly cementing their place as the biggest farce in the country.
-
Exactly. After the game on Sunday you could tell that he was just [censored] off that they didn't get the win. Also, I thought he really tried to crash some packs on Sunday. Noticed that, especially in the last quarter, he was going third man up into some ruck contests, and just trying to get his hands on the ball. Great signs. Can't wait until he gets an uninterrupted preseason.
