  1. What do you think about Mumford from Geelong?
  2. The papers are saying MFC are interestd in Ball- Do we think he would be a decent pick up? Or have we got enough mids.?
  3. Great point but it gives us a chance to see if they are worth keeping any more than next year.
  4. PLEASE CONFIRM THIS INFORMATION AND QUALIFY IT- AS I UNDERSTAND THIS SITE EXPECTS STATEMENTS LIKE THIS VERIFIED. However, it does make sense - but I thought we could have done better
  5. For the ones that play full forward -I would say none are all that slow. I don't get your point-if you think Serhat is slow- get real Name another player at this level whom has kicked 22 or over during a final series.Voss kicked 14 one final .Goodes kicked 5 in a grand final you name some others please.
  6. Agree- we need to get tough- stuff them- we got rid of Jolly instead of Jamar for a rd 14 pick, it was only this season that Jamar has should he was worth us keeping him- now we should absolutely reject pick 9 only- he is woth more than what McLean ws gained for. Get seroius guys We will have no ruck strength at all-
  7. Dappa- I always respect your opinion- I believe you respect mine.He is currently 195/6 cms tall- still growing and about 96 kls. Got a build that could turn out to be Lockett like if developed that way.Glass is 182cms ,93 kls whilst Lake is 195,104kls.No doubt he could build this up with a very good pre season to high 90's or low 100's in 1st yesr(pre season) Their are about 6 talls that will go under 40.- maybe 3 other fowards that he should be compared with-- Panos- Black & Houghton. In discussing Temel, with Calder Cannons- he played 9 games at CHB-3 @CHF @ 7 FULL FORWARD during the season, played between FF @CHF during finals kicking 53 goals for the year.If that is not a sound basis for an early pick- I have not watched under age football for 40 years. He is one of the best young forwards going around and if anyone disputes me contact Andrew Johnston AFL Victoria Development Manager Calder Cannons 0438 527 742 caldercannons.aflvic.com.au for verification. Any way we will know in just over 7 weeks time
  8. you are away with the birds- if you do not think this bloke can play 22 goals in 5 finals. Any wager he does not go under 30. You are joking mate.
  9. Around 70 klms in a very Built up area and where freeway has works being done constantly where maximum speed generally is 80 klms max. However, this is not my beef- it is that the club should take this into consideration when they are recruiting. It is like 2 hour hell sometimes.Especially when McLean had a bad ankle for 2 years and as he rightfully stated he could have done at least an hour an half recovery or training instead of the frustrating drive- I rest my case not for Mclean but for the club to consider this dilemna. They own a mini bus- maybe they should use it
  10. Why couldn't he play on a half forward flank roving around the area of centre to forward pocket? To me this is the place we can maximise his abilities. I believe Wona and Jurrash will float around the pockets with TEMEL in the square
  11. HOW WOULD YOU FEEL IF GAI WATERHOUSE SAID SHE WAS SHIFTING AND WAS GOING TO TRAVEL 2/3 HOURS TO TO TAKE YOUR HORSES THERE. MAYBE PUT YOUR WINNINGS INTO AN INVESTMENT- BUILD THE DEMONLAND VILLAS CLOSE TO CASEY & RENT THEM OUT.
  12. I beg to differ-also he will not have to go anywhere need Royal Parade. However that was not the debate or my point. I was saying and reiterate that travelling (driving)in a car for say 3 hours a day with a bung ankle is something the club should have concerned itself about. Also hiring German who lives close to me north of the city was a major issue to him after taking thejob. All I am saying is listen to the beat of the drom MFC take note - there may be some merit to it. And maybe some CONSTRUCTIVE CRITICISM MAY TURN POSITIVE.
  13. my point totally- and hopefully you are not recovering from a bung ankle. I do not think loosing McLean is a major problem but I think the club needs to take i hand the travelling and its or could be effect
  14. Maybe we should have got him to run there. Crawford used to run from St Kilda to Waverley
  15. totally agree- and Jaded have you travelled 2 hours a day virtually every day in the heat and in peak traffic- I have and hated it. Left my job because of it. Try it- go down to taining every day from Marybnong and see for yourself. I live in Kensington and I would hate to do it. Also this is another reason why German left. Bailley is doing it from Essendon and hates it.
  16. Jaded- as a major topic contributor- may I ask - if we let Jamar go- What about our ruckman- none at this stage as classified as worthwhile -would nearly be classified as the 4 weakest ruckman in the league overall. At least Jamar played well as a ruckman and kicked 5 goals in a match late in the year. Last year was his best performance BY FAR - why let him go? Another midfielder for our best ruckman- you would be joking- hopefully
  17. I think travelling distances, say in this case- Marybynong to Cranbourne is an ordeal - especially for a major part of the year for training. Especially, if a player like Mclean is getting over a major ankle injury. I do think that the player welfare area need to look at what Brock had to say and to see if it had merit- Do not dismiss it straight away. Also, with trade week and the National draft selections- it may be best to secure players and make sure they are placed close or closer to our trining venues. Wonaeamirri when he came to Melbourne was placed to a family at Newport- long long way from Casy- especially when he did hs knee. Therefore there is strong merit to anylse ehat McLean had to say and take positives from it. However, agree it will only be during our pre match period Oct/ Feb reguarly. Travelling can be daunting
  18. agree -I feel we have many midfielder types now- however prefer to get him through the PSD. I have also heard re Adam White's twitter that Jamar was offered a two year contract from us late yesterday.
  19. In evaluating the National Draft and what it has to offer - I feel we have got a number of players whom can or are able to be developed to run through our midfield, they are: Bail, Bartram, Bell, Bennell, Blease, Bruce, Buckley, Cheney, Davey, Dunn, Green, Grimes, Jetta, Jones, Maric, McDonald, Moloney(sorry Beamer), Petterd, Strauss, Sylvia, Wonaeamirri & Rookies- McKenzie,Healey and Valenti. With the strong view that our first two picks will be spent on midfielders- Scully, Trengrove and or Morabito this would give us 26 PLAYERS to whom we can develop a strong midfield/wing with others such as Morton,McNamara & Garland with flankers to come from- Green, Blease, Jetta, Maric, Davey, Petterd, Sylvia & Wona ,all can (as stated run through the guts) - I feel we need to concentrate our next picks on talls and even try to obtain at least one from this trade week. I feel we need another ruckman- Mumford ,in particular whom is strong and developed, injury free whom can operate as our No.1 ruckman Jamar is a good back up if not traded and Meeson & Spencer can develop- or try to get Jolly back- our other weakness is our forward line and hopefully we keep Miller for experience and toughness to protect Watts & Jurrah whilst we develop , hopefully another two talls from our picks 11 & 18 or 34 (depending if we trade.) Mumford comes from Bunyip close to Casey. We all have expressed our thoughts , however their is NO doubt in my mind where our perceived weaknesses are and the two that we should seriously try to trade are Bell & P.J. I'd give Newton another year as I think he developed a littl in the last weeks at Casey. I'd be very disappointed if we go for smalls or mediums for our later picks or rokkies. Do you ?
  20. Maybe Jolly however who would know any of 600+ players
  21. It all depends on who we pick up for 11 and how the player performs, don't you think?
  22. I think a great deal for MFC- we get a great pick in this draft for a guy who always has shown promise however over the last two years has dropped back- I felt the way he was going would not be in my best team in 2010 unless improved spees dramatically. Felt both Maloney and Jones had gone ahead of him as an inside midfielder
  23. NEWS @ DRAFT CAMP RE McLean- it was told to me that originally MFC wanted pick 11 & pick 27 for McLean & pick 34.Therefore, Carlton may not be stalling -we may still be demanding this change- however, it was strongly thought pick 11 would end up being the exchange.
