Smith is a handy player, not many goals were kicked against him , so he performed his role even though I still think he is a natural forward. He has a good leap and another pre season might see him be more of a contributor. Remember he basically lost two seasons with injury.

We really need to improve our skill level as well, especially under pressure. Horrific turnovers cost us games this year, and at times it looked like we were picking out opposition players and kicking directly to them.

Brayshaw has much more upside than Polec. My brother an avid Nth supporter, says Polec is good but slowing down and losing his speed and run. If we did this trade we would regret it.

Guys like Melksham need to get fairdinkum. I was disgusted with his effort this year. Ditto Harmes. Another preseason into the young guys in Jackson, Pickett, Rivers, Sparrow, Jordan , Spargo, Baker,Weideman and Fritsch should see plenty of improvement.

I still don’t think it’s clear that Toms poor form is in any way due to an injury or that he was just out of form and low in confidence. He normally smashes the time trials , but didn’t really feature this year, which makes me lean towards some sort of injury concern.
