  1. Troy Davis was a revelation, Jame Magner and James Sellar continued their impressive starts, Jones was awesome, Green was also very good, along with Pettard and Martin. Watts is trying to play a team game , but needs to be a bit more selfish and imposing. Dont think we will leak too many goals this year, with impressive defense all over the ground. They had Swan Dawes ,Thomas etc.. we were missing Trengove, Grimes ,Rivers,Moloney, Jurrah,Clarke. All in all great signs for the year ahead!
  2. Just reported it on 9 News. No major damage!
  3. Good news!! He is ok only a strain and 2 weeks out....yay!!!!!
  4. I think the new midfield looks exciting with, Bate, Magner,Nicholson,Gysberts,Trengove,Moloney Jones. Magner is a machine so we are no longer solely reliant on Moloney. Bail and Blease could also drift in there with Viney added next year. forgot Couch , as a tagger and Tynan who also impresses
  5. Thereare 3 spots available anyway, Spencers , Gawns , and we only have one on the veterans list so there is another spot. Magner, Nicholson and Couch are certainties. Couch by the way is being earmarked as a tagger, played on Ablett in the first game , and Black in the second
  6. Positives - Magner, Bate,Tynan, Clarke, Sellar, Grimes,Jones Negatives - Game plan??? Martin(Good 2nd ruckman, not a forward) Watts, sure will get better. Hail Mary long bombs All in all a wet preseason game, which didnt tell us much except their hunger was ok,game plan needs work, and some new recruits did very well. I suspect if you put the best players from both teams and add Blease, Trengove,Jurrah,Tapscott etc, we may have something. The fact we won the second game might say something about our new level of fitness which may play to our advantage in proper 4 quarter games
  7. captain - Grimes vice - Trengove and Frawley LG - Jones,Moloney,Jamar,Green
  8. This guy that guy another guy bloke 1 bloke 2 bloke 3 this person that person another person fella 1 fella 2 fella 3 a punter a player a brother Gringo Dude Young kid geezer 1. geezer2. geezer3 unlucky bugger(sub)
  9. id still go with Grimes if the injury keeps flaring up over the next couple of years , then appoint Trengove to replace him
  10. Love Trenners, but always thought Grimes was the man . Only injury has stopped him being a certainty really. Trenners is still a baby, id just choose Grimes ahead of him with Trenners vice
  11. 110% Hammer and tongs, run the opposition of their feet, along with ferocious gang style tackling, and fast decisive direct play, with full confidence in our big forwards, speedy crumbers Blease and Davey at their feet.
  12. 1.Robbie Flower 2.David Schwarz 3. Gary Hardeman 4.Stan Alves 5.Gary Lyon 6.Allen Jakovich 7.Jeff Farmer 8.Liam Jurrah 9.Jim Stynes 10 Hassa Mann
  13. Totally agree here. Best to bide our time and then raid them of the homesick boys in a couple of years...in the meantime signing Pattons Dad as a bootstudder.
  14. All Demetriou has done here is make himself look the fool. Everyone can see right through his "stroke of genius" statement.
  15. Mctaggert and Tynan are not skinny kids, big bodied and could make an impact next year. Sellar is great insurance for Clarke and can play centre half back as well , this gives us plenty of options, especially if Tom Macdonald comes on. I like the clubs thinking on this, and think we have done well.
  16. Big bodied types who are good overhead and can play in a variety of positions.
  17. Still think Grimes is the man. Has Captaincy written all over him. Good talker, goes 100% everytime, very serious about football. Sure has had a few injury concerns, but has been part of the group for 4 years now , and is older than Trengove. Just personal opinon, but he is my choice. Bring on the good times!
  18. Got a feeling they are going to go young. Grimes or Trengove if this is the case.
  19. Yes but why go into the draft when he could have come back to us if he wanted?
  20. He was a favorite of mine, but have to say im dissapointed in Aussie. After all the support we gave him, going up to the Tiwis on numerous occasions, being there for his Dads funeral, Josh Mahoneys trips up there with him, the medical support, and many chances we gave him to get his head and body right. Subsequently........he doesnt turn up to the first day of training, doesn't visit his Doctor, makes it difficult to contact him. Then he nominates for the draft!! ?? Very ordinary behavior and lack of respect for the club that tried to support him all the way.
