  1. A Hawks player tried that in the game yesterday and even though the umpire called play on he said it was still for only 6 points??? The commentators even made reference to it and acted like he had tried to outsmart the umpire but the umpire was too clever to fall for that??? If anyone can explain the logic to me of the AFL/umpires/rules committee I will nominate them for the next Australian of the year.
  2. I wonder who gets the money from these games - do the clubs share the gate receipts? Does it go to the "home" team? Or does it just get pocketed by the AFL/Docklands?
  3. How can they justify not letting members in for free to NAB Cup practice matches? What a joke, I remember now they made us pay last year against the Dons. I won't be going to NAB Cup again until they change it back to free entry for members (couldn't go this year anyway due to other stuff on but will not go in future). EDIT: Just checked the website - $21 for GA (3rd level) and $32 for reserved seating (1st level) - it's a frigging practice game what a joke. The AFL & Docklands = bigger rip-off merchants than Foxtel.
  4. Is this the first time we've played the Pies in the pre-season since that early-90's game at Princes Park?
  5. I've called up a couple of times but then hung up when I've been on hold for a while. Will try and be more persistent this year as I definitely agree this is the reason radio stations are reluctant to talk about us because we don't generate calls and if they do talk about us other clubs supporters call up and change the topic.
  6. Brisbane at the G - should win this one WCE in Perth - Will lose this one Tigers at the G - 50/50 if Jurrah is back should win otherwise not confident Bulldogs at the G - another one I see as 50/50 I think we'll win one of either this game or the game against the Saints Saints at the G - see above Geelong in Mordor - loss Hawthorn at the G - loss Sydney in Sydney - not sure we usually play ok at SCG so think this one is winnable Carlton at the G - loss Essendon at the G - win Collingwood at the G - loss So I think at the halfway mark we will likely have about 4 wins setting us up for a decent crack at the top 8 considering the run home we have.
  7. Just got back from OS and was surprised our new captain (well one of them) Trengove didn't front up in the first round. Is he likely to play ths week or has he suffered an injury of some sort? Also looking for Tapscott and Blease to front up this week and any chance of Jurrah?
  8. Yeah on facebook they've said its extended til midday tomorrow due to the website crashing and may extend furtehr depending on if they continue having issues tonight. You can also just email your order through if you want - check their facebook page comments. http://www.facebook.com/sportsdelivered
  9. Ended up ordering the games above plus 1999 R7 v Ess 1987 R7 v Coll 1987 R10 v Ess 1995 R17 v NM 1995 R13 v Rich Hopefully these ones have been mastered so they are included in the sale. Was going to get the 2002 semi against Adelaide but couldn't bring myself to pay for a game we lost. I jumped on this morning and the site was working fine so hopefully it stays that way throughout today.
  10. 1989 we beat the Cats. I have that one in full but quality is not perfect though definitely watchable.
  11. Yeah it crashed about a minute after 12 but is somewhat better now. The sale goes to midday tomorrow so you can try getting on later tonight - however on their facebook page it says you can email them orders if you want otherwise you can call to order if you are buying less than 10 games.
  12. Hey ChaserJ I'll be up for trading with you for those games - if you PM me your email address I cans end you a list of games that I have as well as the ones posted above if you like.
  13. Yoko the coupon code you need to enter is "nagsale".
  14. Sorry mate went to reply and clicked "like" instead. Yoko I think the sale starts at midday and when you go to checkout you need to enter a promotion code down the bottom - not sure what that is yet but they should have it either on their website or the facebook page. Will let you know when I find out opefully at midday. Dee-luded you can get that 1987 night final off name a game for $10 today after midday - I have a copy of the last quarter only but it is rubbish quality. There are some copies floating around but they are VHS versions and will not be "high res".
  15. Just bumping this to remind everyone this sale is on midday tomorrow for 24 hours. $10 a game is pretty good usually $25 each. I am looking at getting the following games at this stage; 2000 R7 v WCE 2000 R20 v Freo 2001 R2 v Adel 2006 R10 v St.K 2006 R21 v Geel 1991 R5 v NM 1991 R6 v Coll 1992 R2 v Geel 1994 R4 v Ess 1994 R6 v Coll 1998 R2 v NM 1999 R11 v Coll Was going to get the 1994 finals games amongst some others as well but seeing as though Supermercado is getting those I'm hoping a swap can be arranged instead.
  16. I always thought we could not have won in '87 no matter if we got over the Hawks in the Prelim however the experience of a GF may have put us in a better position in '88 and we may not have been belted like we were. All conjecture but who knows what might have been.
  17. I have at times shared your frustration praha over the last 25 years - I began following the club in 1987 and have hated seeing all my relatives (except my Tigers supporting cousin) celebrate premierships and seeing the Demons never seriously challenge. I was ready to give up on the club after 2001 and crashing out after making the GF and then losing Farmer on top of that. But at the end of the day red & blue blood pumps through my veins. I think it is time to ask questions and it is a pity you didn't post this last week as I would have recommended you attend the AGM and pose these very relevant questions in that forum. Obviously the club is aware of the problems and are attempting to address them but are they doing enough? Are they doing enough to engage new Australians and people from non-football backgrounds? I'm thinking largely of the rising Chinese and Indian communities in Melbourne. Or are they throwing all their eggs in the Casey basket? If so why do they think this will work? Do the kids in the Casey region already have a club allegiance through their families? If so are they likely to switch to the Demons all things considered? We all want the club not just to survive but to thrive. Relocations and mergers are off the table for now but will be back eventually and we can't afford to find ourselves without a seat when the music stops.
  18. The one with Steve Sax and his run in with the law?
  19. I am just so relieved that we tanked and got Trengove as well as $cully - I don't think I could have lived with missing out on Trengove AND Martin.
  20. Yep before this thing's over I reckon they could be the Bad News Bears Mark II.
  21. Yeah wouldn't mind most of the other stuff you're going to pick up - I've got a bunch of other stuff including a classic comeback at Windy Hill in 1990 and Jakovich kicking 7 at Vic Park in 1992 if you want to trade game for game. You can PM me if you want to sort out details. EDIT: Just had another quick look at my tapes and the 1997 R15 match v Carlton is only the replay not the full game - only goes for about half an hour so if you want the full game you should probably pick that one up from Name-A-Game.

Before it gets lost in the usual bickering, I'd just like to say I'm extremely pleased to have it confirmed that Greg Healy will be back at the club in the formal capacity of Football Director. Great news for the club to convince him to come back especially considering his apparent success at Quicksilver.
  23. "Habib told me this is what all the chicks dig up here uleh, but I reckon I look like a big zub!"
  24. Exactly, this is sport and it's based on emotion - there's no need to let logic and reason interfere.
