  1. I thought that after the first few games as well - it's because most of his possessions seem to occur within packs.
  2. Nothing but I think that pre-dated the current system?
  3. That was only the last minute, the whole last quarter was terrible from memory, I remember watching as a 9 year old barracking Fitzroy home and being utterly dumbfounded at what was happening. I think the commentator was Peter McKenna, I've got the last quarter somewhere on disc with a news report from the following night as Fitzroy supporters had vandalised AFL House with some slogans about how they were robbed! Can't find the news report on youtube but the rest of the game is up there.
  4. It doesn't say anything about what happens if your arms are pinned and you haven't had prior opportunity (like what happened with Viney against the Swans when he was tackled in mid air).
  5. Lynch should be looked at for concussing Georgiou...
  6. Agree DeeVoted, the rules (or interpretations) change from week to week - one week we're focusing on holding the ball, the next it's taggers impeding off the ball, the next it's 15 metres - just stick to the bloody rules and apply them consistently throughout the season that's all we ask.
  7. Jetta and Grimes both played their best games for the club I thought. Terlich was very good as well, sometimes his disposal lets him down but he rarely makes wrong decisions, his attack on the contest is great also.
  8. They'll watch it in real time first and see that Viney didn't initiate the contact. Have a look at it and look at where Viney is when Lynch takes possession and where he is when contact is made, he barely moves.
  9. Neutrals on BF were comparing it to the "absolute murder" game between Adelaide & Fitzroy over there in 1991. For anyone who remembers the game you'll know that that was the most blatant display of biased umpiring you'll ever see (Roos involved that game as well). For those who don't remember (look at the free against Roos!!!);
  10. Just watching the replay this morning and looking at it in real time I doubt he will even get cited. Viney was running at the ball and once Lynch took possession Viney basically stopped running to the ball, Lynch/Georgiou kept running in his direction and viney turned to brace for the impact. Viney didn't keep running through and line him up with a shirtfront which it could look like in slow-mo from the reverse angle.
  11. Yep and the thing is Viney was bolting to the footy, hit the contest and ultimately won possession. He was attacking the footy at a manic pace so once it was clear Lynh would take possession he had only three options 1) bump 2) try and tackle the two far bigger guys coming at him and likely injure himself or 3) jump out of the way. He did the only sensible thing which was brace his body for contact.
  12. Hope you were able to watch today's game with him, if not make sure you are able to find a replay somewhere and get him to watch it. The team is improving and this was a great vicory on the road.
  13. Yeah and even thinking about this some more, regardless of how Lynch broke his jaw (contact with Viney, Georgiou or the ground) the fact that the action caused a broken jaw means Viney will be held responsible. Just another reason why the AFL is [censored].
  14. Yeah Brad's the one who will be very very good (was a mini-draft pick). Matt is the one my brother said had a face like a dropped meat pie.
  15. It's probably going to come down to which side of his jaw is broken, if it's the right side it means it came from contact with Georgiou, if it's the left it was Viney's shoulder.
  16. Just had a look on the AFL's crappy website, it was hard to tell but didn't even look like he hit him high, got him in the shoulder.
  17. The two Crouch boys will be good, was the elder one playing today (he bald one) didn't notice him?
  18. We also had another week of our opposition kicking more behinds than goals, something I think should be attributed to the pressure our defense and mids are applying rather than just being "lucky".
  19. Credit where it's due, both of them played their roles today. Howe dropping into the hole must have intercepted half a dozen I50's and Watts took the game on a bit more. There still a lot more room for improvement but their efforts were streets ahead of the last fortnight.
  20. Bloody brilliant win on the road and with the umps riding them home. Dawes & Jetta were immense, Vince and Cross in everything too and Tyson had a ripper.
  21. Once they have a majority of Tassie members they'll cease to have any Vic home games.
  22. Putting Melbourne aside for the moment, I will be pretty sad if teams like North, Bulldogs & Saints end up being relocated. Of course I'd rather it was them than us but if we lose even more "heritage" clubs the game in Victoria will became even more of a corporatised comp. It may result in a better on-field standard but the feeling won't be the same. We already suffer through poor atmosphere at games having to play the franchises every other week and only play Collingwood, Essendon, Carlton, Richmond, Hawthorn & Geelong once a year for the most part, this will be made even worse if a couple more Vic clubs are relocated.
  23. The "ignore" function is your friend.
  24. Carlton? Essendon? Richmond?
