  1. To answer the question in the OP I'm pretty sure Pert already answered this (or a members email) saying the GF guarantee tickets are strictly non-transferable meaning you cannot buy one and pass it on. Of course there are probably ways around this but I assume the main reason is to stop scalping (what's to stop members buying a ticket and then selling it at an exorbitant price and then claiming they gave it to a "friend"?) The plus side is if you are a member and can attend in WA you should be able to get a ticket as the majority of MFC members would live in Melbourne and so we would be unlikely to fill the quota of MFC member allotments for the GF in Perth.
  2. One thing I've always wondered is how history would have played out had Smith stood aside and let Barassi take the reigns at the Demons in 65. Would Barassi have got us more flags as the supercoach he turned out to be? Or would he have been hamstrung by the board and the setup of the league at the time (zone system)? Would he have left Melbourne after a couple of years having had his own troubles with the board/committee? Reading The Last Hurrah over the last couple of weeks brought these questions to mind.
  3. Should've subbed out Lever for Jordon
  4. Channel 7 way better Thanks for this, didn't see it last night as was watching on Kayo
  5. Agreed. We are a very good team, start nailing our chances and we will be a great team. We will dominate our competition.
  6. "How good are Melbourne though? It's amazing what happens when you run both ways the entire game. We can learn a lot from them" Have to say their supporters on Bigfooty were pretty good - no whinging or bitterness
  7. Or just get a job as a truckie
  8. Smith out Hibberd or Hunt in
  9. Yep certainly seemed like it
  10. Too young for 2000?
  11. I thought I misheard when they said he had 46 touches! Surely not?
  12. Rivers was immense tonight as were Brayshaw, Sparrow and ANB some of our "lesser lights" - fantastic
  13. CARNA DEMONS ♥️💙
  14. That was the first game I remember attending too. I think I may have gone in 87, not sure - but round 1 1988 against the Tigers is the first game I can remember attending. I remember walking around the bottom level of the old Southern Stand behind the goals while Tony Campbell kicked another goal (I think he had 8 that day)
  15. Besides specific games, my favourite memories are getting ready to go to the footy on a Saturday morning after Vickick (yes it was the 80s!) with my dad, driving to my cousin's house to pick him and my uncle up on the way then dropping past Yaya's for lunch in Fitzroy before heading to the G and sitting in the red seats members section with the MFC faithful.
  16. He picked up a takeaway lunch he would've been there for 5 minutes - utterly ridiculous he can't play with a negative test.
  17. Same mate I don't give a crap if we are still in lock down, if we are in the GF I'm putting on a BBQ and getting the family over
  18. Fritsch, come on down :)
  19. Because if we lost we would then have a 6 day break to the Semi Final
  20. He's toned it down in recent weeks I reckon
  21. My footy club, right or wrong.
  22. Agreed. Maybe we can package up Weideman and Joel Smith? Relax guys, I'm joking!
  23. It's not just the personnel (although that of course helps) it's the structure. Our players have matured and now play to a defensive structure which is the best I've ever seen of a Demons side.
