  1. That's what I'm wondering, will there be additional things like the regular family days they have? Or will we be confined to our seats while the game is replayed and then the presentation of players/coaches? Also will the replays be confined to the 2 screens at the ground? Or will there be large screens/projectors setup on the oval? Would be good to have some more info.
  2. What are you on about, there's no restrictions on numbers as of last week I assume you'll be offering DA an apology for your outburst
  3. This is a dumb question but where are the other 12 cups housed? Are they kept at the MCG if so where? In the MCC?
  4. They have a contingency plan for this
  5. When I took the kids for the MCG tour and sports Museum back in April the cafe inside gate 3 was open during an average weekday with hardly anyone there. You'd have to assume they'll have at least a few of the outlets open.
  6. Pretty sure it wasn't the media who drummed up Watts' debut on queen's birthday. I remember cringing as they played it up on the scoreboard before the game, showing him in the rooms, running onto the ground etc He was still in high school for heaven's sake.
  7. Did you venture around to see if the demon shop was open?
  8. At the sports Museum? I wasn't sure if we'd get to have a pic holding it or it would be on display only
  9. https://www.wegart.com.au/
  10. I think it's only the GF in HD everything else is SD
  11. I went past JB at highpoint earlier and they had the DVD there but couldn't see the victory pack or bluray. Are these out yet or are they delayed?
  12. Checked out the AFL shop at highpoint earlier, so proud to see the MFC premiership gear in pride of place at the front of the shop. Unfortunately not much in the way of kids stuff but hopefully there will be restocking of those items at the Demon Shop in the new year. Edit they did have the premiership Guernsey's in kid sizes at rebel though which is now on my kids Xmas wishlist. They desperately want the tshirt with the mark Knight poster design but its just not available in their size anywhere
  13. No it's on the other side of the MCG. Our proposal was near Jolimont station this one runs along the train track from Flinders St to Richmond station on the southern stand side of the ground
  14. That sucks, does it at least have the alternate commentaries?
  15. That looks horrible - the Docklands is already a white elephant of empty apartments/buildings and they want to extend that across the city from Flinders to South Yarra? Yuck
  16. Ah ok thought it was meant to say AFL 🤣
  17. Happy when he left, similar to Watts they just didn't have what it took to take it to the next level.
  18. What is "AL" Premiers? Is that a typo on the footy??
  19. I'm not a huge one for memorabilia either (though I did get the poster and got an xmas present for mum) but I'm happy to throw money at the club so they can make hay while the sun shines especially considering the massive financial hit they've taken in the last two years. Most of the stuff I buy will probably be for the kids but when I next get to the Demon Shop I might buy one of the jumpers/tshirts/hoodies etc if they're in stock. Most annoying thing is the Demon Shop has sold out of a lot of kids sized stuff but the same things are available at the AFL Shop/MCG Shop - would rather go direct so the club gets the money but if I don't have a choice I'll have to go elsewhere. The kids really want the tshirt with the Mark Knight design but they don't have any smaller ones left. I did get them the drink bottle with the same design though, hopefully it comes before xmas.
  20. Norm Smith medallist & 2020 B&F (2021 B&F?) - I think Trac has him covered 😜
  21. “I would also like to assure members and supporters that the opportunity to take photos with the AFL Premiership Cup will not cost a cent, including access to the premiership celebration at the MCG, currently earmarked for December 5th.
  22. When the Dogs won the flag in 2016 it was $100 for a picture with the cup I believe.
  23. It's not the club though, its an events company going through player managers
  24. Yep and in fact in two years (1897 and 1924) there was no GF but a round robin to determine the premier. Essendon won the flag both those years which is why Carlton supporters will tell you they hold the record for most GF's won with 16 while Essendon only has 14. Another quirky one is 1916 which you may already know. Due to the War only 4 teams competed that season playing each other 4 times each for the H&A. Fitzroy finished 4th (last) and then proceeded to win the flag being the only team to win the wooden spoon and the flag in the same season! After 1900 they changed the system to the final 4 after we won the flag from 6th defeating Fitzroy who would have had a 3peat if they won. Fitzroy were so confident they had already arranged carriages with "1900 Premiers" in their colours out the front of the ground. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/1898_VFL_finals_series#Finals_system Secondly, and more significantly, the system had the drawback that it allowed a team to claim the major premiership by playing well only at the end of the year, regardless of its form during the home-and-away season. This came to a head after the unsatisfactory conclusion to the 1900 VFL season, when Melbourne won the premiership after having finished sixth out of the eight teams after the home-and-away season with a 6-8 record. A similar outcome could have occurred in 1899, as South Melbourne reached the non-challenge final and lost by one point to Fitzroy, despite having finished sixth with a record of 5-9 at the end of the home-and-away season.[7] Consequently, from the 1901 season, this scheme was replaced with the Argus system
  25. Probably because the 1900 team finished 6th of 8 teams after the H&A and only won the flag due to a ridiculous everyone makes finals system.
