  1. When the Dogs won the flag in 2016 it was $100 for a picture with the cup I believe.
  2. It's not the club though, its an events company going through player managers
  3. Yep and in fact in two years (1897 and 1924) there was no GF but a round robin to determine the premier. Essendon won the flag both those years which is why Carlton supporters will tell you they hold the record for most GF's won with 16 while Essendon only has 14. Another quirky one is 1916 which you may already know. Due to the War only 4 teams competed that season playing each other 4 times each for the H&A. Fitzroy finished 4th (last) and then proceeded to win the flag being the only team to win the wooden spoon and the flag in the same season! After 1900 they changed the system to the final 4 after we won the flag from 6th defeating Fitzroy who would have had a 3peat if they won. Fitzroy were so confident they had already arranged carriages with "1900 Premiers" in their colours out the front of the ground. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/1898_VFL_finals_series#Finals_system Secondly, and more significantly, the system had the drawback that it allowed a team to claim the major premiership by playing well only at the end of the year, regardless of its form during the home-and-away season. This came to a head after the unsatisfactory conclusion to the 1900 VFL season, when Melbourne won the premiership after having finished sixth out of the eight teams after the home-and-away season with a 6-8 record. A similar outcome could have occurred in 1899, as South Melbourne reached the non-challenge final and lost by one point to Fitzroy, despite having finished sixth with a record of 5-9 at the end of the home-and-away season.[7] Consequently, from the 1901 season, this scheme was replaced with the Argus system
  4. Probably because the 1900 team finished 6th of 8 teams after the H&A and only won the flag due to a ridiculous everyone makes finals system.
  5. Wish I read this before I bought it for my wife!
  6. Absolute star, AA this year, averaged most intercept marks per game on record (only player to average over 4 per game I believe?) Future captain. And he's still only 25.
  7. He was in it from the start, that tackle on Macrae at the opening bounce set the scene.
  8. It still hasn't fully sunk in for me. I don't think it will til we are back at the G.
  9. Got my herald Sun posters delivered today the laminated and paper ones - still waiting on the block mounted one though
  10. They'll surely have full crowds with people having to sign in confirming vax status or medical exemption status. No way they can keep these restrictions going for a 3rd year, they'll be turfed out regardless of peoples political leanings.
  11. He isn't going anywhere (no source just my take). He looks so happy and settled with the group. He just won a flag with more to come hopefully from a young group. He talked about working with Max (who he said was like a father figure) for many more seasons. He got an MFC premiership tattoo!! What more do you need?
  12. PLEASE ALLOW AT LEAST 28 DAYS FOR DELIVERY OF ALL PREMIERSHIP PRODUCT ORDERS, AND 8-10 WEEKS FOR ALL BLOCK MOUNTED POSTER ORDERS (sorry for shouting it's cut and paste from HS website) https://herald-sun-shop.myshopify.com/collections/mark-knight-premiership-posters
  13. what size 50cm x 70cm? They are $20 on cheap as chips website but you can get similar from Ikea for $13 (for those who might be looking).
  14. Well I've got no idea then haha. And where's my wife's birthday present!!! (Lucky she already had some to open on the day or I'd be in strife!)
  15. The KRock call of the 2009 last quarter is immense if you're a Cats fan.
  16. *cough* GWS *cough*
  17. I don't think it will fully sink in for me until we are at the G round 1 - I think not being at the game has fuelled this disbelief even further
  18. I haven't been able to get into the NFL yet, far too distracted still
  19. Was it through AusPost or another provider like Toll?
  20. It wasn't, read my post. Australia Post was already running weeks behind in early September. They then said they would stop collecting packages for 5 days but the service was already weeks delayed.
  21. Humble in victory, gracious in defeat. Support loudly and proudly yes, but don't be arrogant (unless it's towards Essendon or Carlton supporters those [censored] can get [censored])
  22. Dr. Gonzo replied to Mono's topic in Melbourne Demons
Didn't we use the pick we got for Morton (89?) to land Jordan Lewis? Not a bad deal in the end Not to mention Watts turned into Fritsch Everything works out in the end 😜
  23. Didn't realise that about the DVDs vs blurays - it's disappointing that the victory pack doesn't have all finals games on bluray, I'd definitely pay for that but if the QF and PF are just DVD quality I probably won't bother. I'll just get the GF bluray and keep the copies I've converted to my hard drive for the rest of the season (better quality than the replays they have on Kayo which are compressed to the max and have significant ghosting/lagging).
  24. Australia Post has basically ground to a halt the last month or so. I ordered a birthday gift for my wife on September 10 and ordered express post so it should have got here by the 14th at the latest - still hasn't been received. It's a postage thing and not the club so just be patient, it will be worth the wait!
