  1. Depends how it's phrased I guess - I agree we are the Melbourne Football Club and that encompasses both AFL and AFLW teams so probably unnecessary to specifically refer to that. But I don't really have an issue with it.
  2. Essendon and Carlton supporters can feel the depression that comes with being putrid onfield but it doesn't have the accompanying existential crisis that comes with being a supporter of a poor club who has to contemplate the very survival of their club. I feel sorry for North too and hopefully they can rebound and not have a potential Tas relocation hanging over them. They're in an ok financial position I think so they have that going for them. I think the first step is to get rid of Noble
  3. Bloody oath, at the end of the day isn't that what it's all about (edit - not just talking footy/indigenous round but life in general).
  4. I don't see any issue with changing the term Chairman to President. I mean our current President is a woman so would be pretty silly to call her a Chairman. I typically don't refer to things as woke or virtue signalling either but I cant really see that changing the language would be an issue.
  5. I agreed with most of the amendments they proposed. The key things I commented on were - unsure about limiting tenure to 9 years as it may mean good operators are lost too early - queried whether the 9 year term limits was only for consecutive years/terms - ie can someone serve 9 years leave and then come back for another 9 years - or if someone serves one 3 year term can they only come back at a later time for a further 6 years? - would like to see something in the Constitution enshrining a senior indigenous role at the club either on the board or in the FD (similar to Matty Whelan's role) - would like to see something included around acknowledgment of indigenous culture/owners in the "inclusivity" section - would like to see the Constitution enshrine something regarding the MCG and surrounding area as our spiritual home not just our home ground. It is our home, the other clubs are only tenants (they may have done this but it wasn't clear) - queried whether the amendments related to gaming would limit our revenue options in future (I assume not but wasn't sure what these amendments were specifically in relation to) I'd be interested in any comments others may have included.
  6. Carlton have the mids and key forwards to worry us. But they can't run out games which is where we excel. If we are within 7-8 goals of them at halftime I think we beat them.
  7. So next week we are playing a top 4 aspirant, at the G, Saturday twilight, no long weekend, no election, no work/school the next day, plenty of time to get to and from the game for people from outside Melbourne. I assume we will get 35k-40k. Or will Melbourne supporters find some other excuse not to turn up?
  8. I'm worried about when we play the good teams like Brisbane and Freo 🤣🤣🤣
  9. The top level was open on the camera side wing but the rest of it was shut. They couldn't really be charging $55 to get in could they? That is farcical.
  10. It was nothing like the Chandler tackle.
  11. By the way 13600 what a ****ful crowd that is not worthy of an AFL game! Two local teams playing under roof on a Saturday arvo and it's 13600? Fair enough North supporters not turning up but where were the 60k Melbourne members?? Disgraceful.
  12. Yeah I was there too and I agree - the Roos also came out to play and were hitting us hard. Bottom team with nothing to lose after being smashed in the media for two weeks while we struggle to really get fired up to play against a bottom team. Despite that we won by 8 goals and would've been 12-15 goals had we not been so inaccurate (and they had not been as accurate). Anyone complaining needs their head read, we were never losing this. We are undefeated with the biggest percentage after 10 rounds. How often does this come round? Enjoy it for God's sake, this is the best period in my life as a Melbourne supporter and maybe it will be the best period I ever experience. I'm not going to look a gift horse in the mouth.
  13. CARN NARRM!!! GIVE EM HELL DEMONS!!!
  14. Demons win, Liberals lose please 🤞
  15. Bad enough we have to play at that [censored] every single year but then we get scheduled on a Thursday night?? Absolute joke 😡
  16. Maybe the liver, the kidney or even the colon
  17. Carey, Ablett Snr, Judd, Voss, Buckley just for starters. Dusty maybe the best big game player but I think those others have him covered for consistency and longevity.
  18. I'm fully confident the MRO would have a consistent approach regardless of who the offender was. https://www.foxsports.com.au/afl/afl-news-2021-mro-decisions-questioned-michael-christian-dangerous-tackles-concussions-tom-hawkins-zaine-cordy-first-crack/news-story/b9e19954e783c4dc549074d53c659726
  19. There are definitely priority groups and I know that Richmond in 2017 prioritised members who had been members for longer periods of consecutive years.
  20. 😂 How the hell would he know?
  21. Chandler was lucky he didn't get rubbed out for a quarter of the season like ANB did a couple of years back.
  22. So then what is intentional? I get what you're saying and there may be a logic to it but it is wide open to manipulation without any accountability.
  23. Let's be honest the MRO went heavy on Chandler because he is a no name and unlikely to play next week anyway and went easy on Ryan because WCE are already struggling to field a side as it is. It's a farce, there is no transparency or consistency whatsoever. For example can someone explain what specifically is the difference between reckless and careless and how this is applied by the MRO?
  24. I mean if you can't just relax and enjoy watching the club when we're reigning premiers and undefeated on top of the ladder after round 9 you must live a highly stressed existence.
