I seriously don't think we could've played worse, nothing went right, we just bombed away, players were fumbling and second to the footy, giving away stupid free kicks. And for all that Brisbane didn't really put us away, even before the power failure. We won't play that bad again but we need Maxy he is so integral to our structure and heart.

It's a mulligan. Gawn going down in the opening minutes clearly rattled the team. When you're running on top of the ground everything goes your way. When you hesitate a fraction you look fumbly, slow and second-rate. This team will bounce back just hoping Max isn't sidelined for too long.

Kozzie has gone to Rich in the past to shutdown his play on from a behind to get the ball to centre wing. Without Kozzie I wonder how we approach this tonight, probably Chandler playing that role?

They've brought in Darcy Fort, is this a first instance of a team changing their selection to try and match Gawn/Grundy? Or would he have played anyway and just wasn't fit last week?

Agreed I have the same feeling I did in 2021 after we ran over the Dogs and Lions in successive weeks. Last year was more hope than belief, albeit hope infused with the belief from 2021 but the team look unbelievable this year. A long way to go but I'll be shattered if we let it slip this year.

It's a good reminder to have faith in the current Admin/FD. People were up in arms when we traded out Watts, people weren't happy when we lost Hogan but ended up with May. People (including myself) weren't happy when we picked up Grundy and Hunter but they're looking like inspired decisions. The current FD has earnt our faith and repayed it several times over. He didn't knock him out though. Any act on a football field could potentially result in injury, it is a 360 degree full contact sport. If Kozzie knocked out Smith then I would agree 4-6 weeks - but he didn't which suggests he didn't actually get him in the head.

Who is that now that S Hocking and B Scott are not there? Have they replaced that role yet? Is it Gil??
