  1. He has the best player in the International Rules award - Jim Stynes Medal.
  2. This is the game we need to make a statement. I don't care what it takes before the game, the boys need to be revved up and pumped, whether Jimmy goes down into the rooms or something else, they need to come out and blow the Bombers away. You can talk about Scullys, Trengoves as superstars, but Jim puts footy in perspective. He is a bonafide superstar and an inspiration to us all - we love you big fella
  3. With Grimes out, you'd think Joel Mac will stay - so I'll say INT: Macdonald, Jurrah, Bail, Jetta
  4. Yep Cam is a veteran at the moment - replaced Robbo at the end of last year I think? And we have Green eligible at the end of the year, if McDonald or Bruce leave.
  5. Fairly sure we didn't make the GF in 1976 - there was a 20-odd year break between finals after the mid 60s? In 2012 I'd estimate we'd be around where Carlton is now. Firmly in the 8, and hopefully almost pushing for top 4.
  6. Why is Martin ineligible, did I miss something?
  7. This Intermittent use of Capitals is starting to Annoy me
  8. Interesting back line... So, looking to a 2013 team: FB: Bartram Warnock Garland HB: Grimes Frawley Bail C: Morton Moloney Blease/Tapscott HF: Sylvia Watts Bate FF: Green Jurrah Davey R: Jamar Scully Trengove INT: Gysberts McKenzie Jones Gawn EMG: Jetta Bennell Martin Bartram's ahead of Cheney/Rivers/MacDonald at this stage, Warnock is hit-and-miss, he might be past it; Garland with a lot of versatility Grimes - out and out superstar, possible captain; Frawley's a gun; Bail could be handy. Morton - obvious choice; Moloney, critical in the guts and possible captain; and Blease or Tapscott - one of them should come good? Sylvia and Bate making up a dynamic forward line; and Watts - that is all. Green with experience and poise, and Jurrah and Davey - the Aboriginal boys dominating the forward line. This is with the assumption of Petterd to GC17 Jamar, should still be good; Scully and Trengove, tied for the Brownlow. Interchange - Gysbert's a gem, McKenzie for some toughness in the guts, Jones ditto, and Gawn - anything could happen. Unlucky to miss - Jetta, Bennell, Wona, Martin
  9. 3 - Moloney 2.5 - Jamar 2 - Davey 1.5 - Morton 1 - Jones 0.5 - Bate Unlucky - Garland, Bartram, Frawley
  10. Wow, amazingly comprehensive preview there Dave - cheers for that, appreciated by all.
  11. Hahahaha top form Cam! Keep up the good work mate!
  12. Keeping in mind, this is basically his first season, as he was drafted bottom age / still at school So a bit early to be writing him off.
  13. What a miserable day of footy. 6 - Gysberts, surely the Rising Star this week? 5 - Moloney, good in the clinches all day 4 - Jamar, thought he kept trying in the ruck 3 - McDonald, another captain's effort 2 - Green, dangerous up forward 1 - Bruce, come on...he can still play
  14. I thought Wonaemirri was good today...plenty of defensive pressure, he just kept tackling. In: Scully, Trengove, Bate Out: Garland, Rivers, Bennell maybe?
  15. In: Bate, Bruce, Warnock, (Gysberts) Out: Wonaemirri, Rivers, Moloney, (McKenzie)
  16. I think it would be "carpe noctem" - accusative.
  17. Looking at the fixture: We should win one of our next month (Geelong, Carlton, Collingwood, Adelaide). Winnable games to come in rounds 15, 17, 19, 20, 22 (Essendon, Sydney, Richmond, Hawthorn, North all at the G). Likely losses in rounds 14, 16, 18, 21 (Saints at Etihad, and Freo, Brisbane and Port all away). So from that I think we're looking at about 9 wins; around 11th on the ladder.
  18. Not sure why they had Sylvia and not Miller in the ruck in the last...at least Miller had a strong body to contest, not dance with, the opposition ruckman. Definitely need a backup ruckman in some form, whether that be experience in Johnson, or versatility in Martin or even someone like Dunn. Also, can't forget that the game was in horrible conditions, so it sucked heaps more out of him than normal. No Spencer
  19. 6. Jamar - unbelievable effort from him. 5. McDonald - big captain's game 4. Bennell 3. Miller 2. Jetta 1. Green
  20. Makes me think, How the f**k did we get smashed by Hawthorn!!???!?!!!?
